    That resonates with me. Having been an activist most of my life; especially in the war years against Vietnam; much shunning and violence against us hippies, who fought the system to end the war.
    Truth be told; we lost that one (among others[Iraq being another]) but, we put our asses on the line!
    One cannot do more than that.
    And, that is precisely what’s missing in the U.S. today!

    Very much reminds me of here in Asia; the poor are taken care of by the local Wats (Buddhist temples) and by the villagers.
    The government does it’s share (medical and monthly stipend), but can’t get everybody; that’s where the villagers and individuals come into play.
    Being poor in the tropics is far better than being poor in the northern latitudes…

    The Roosevelt quote was cited by Ocasio the other day. Another reply to all those who criticize her but don’t present any plans. And I got to say, no matter how wrong or deluded the Green New Deal may be, our -human- world is easily so far gone on its way to deleting itself altogether that waiting for a plan that’s just right doesn’t seem to be an option. You have to start somewhere.

    Problem with that in turn is that most people still think we’re doing fine, so no major changes are required, just a bit of tweaking, like a change of fuel to produce our energy.

    The majority of the street people/homeless, that I see, are drunk, addicted, and mentally challenged.
    They do get help from multiple sources. Yet, they still stay in the street even in the freezing cold.
    However, I don’t know about the poor. They must be sheltering in plain sight, under their credit cards.

    all the time
    prices are going up
    expenses are going up

    inflation is increasing

    Everyone is fighting to get a chunk of my diminishing income

    Who is getting the most …. capitalists? socialists?

    Those people who stay in the street are medically and mentally challenged, and since we do not have Medicare for All, they don’t get treatment. They may also be those who get out of jail, but can’t find work. Drugs and alcohol are illnesses and ways to ease the pain of their lives. They are the most vulnerble and “expendable” population. This is what the Collapse of our society looks like.

    HUAWEI

    Huawei committed two major crimes.

    Firstly they became global leaders in 5G, making equipment far superior to their competitors.

    Secondly they refused to install an NSA backdoor in to their equipment.

    The idea of it being ‘illegal’ for a Chinese company to trade with another country is absurd. Also it is normal in these situations to blackmail a company with a fine in order to continue trading with the US, eg. BNP Paribas. The threat to imprison a member of the company takes it to a whole new level.

    It is always interesting to reverse a situation and see if it is still valid.

    So what if the Chinese government started making it illegal for some US companies to trade with a specific country [eg. Taiwan], and promising to jail their executives if they did not comply.?!

    Homo hubris is ever so busy! In today’s articles, on this and other sites, I detect a distinct, larger than normal rise in the Derangement Level of our lords and masters. As a wild estimate, we’re at Derangement Level 8, or maybe even 9. Not 9.5, not yet, but getting there.

    Morbid curiosity keeps me watching.

    I agree. AOC and Ilhan Omar are proving to be fierce in the face of the deep state sycophants.
    I had to laugh when one sitting representative said they’re new and they have to learn how the system “works”.
    Which is precisely the opposite of what they’ll do…
    At least if they’re not broken; but, I don’t see that happening.

    Addendum:

    Previous; I had to laugh when one sitting representative said they’re new and they have to learn how the system “works”.

    Memory serves to correct that sentence; what was said was; “they’re new and don’t know how the system works”.
    IMO, they (AOC and Ilhan Omar) know all too well how the System works!
    These two, are not stupid people…
