ParticipantI just been looking at Greece Energy and economy – post later today. I don’t think Greece can continue with austerity and given that her European friends are no longer going to bank role the country Greece must leave the € and it is going to be dreadful for the Greek people.
In Greece 54% of energy comes from imported oil and 9% from imported gas. The country is supposed to have a 90 day oil reserve – wouldn’t surprise me if that is not already depleted. 40% of electricity comes from imported oil and gas. Unable to pay, the energy imports may have to stop – lights go out and tourist industry collapse. Take care Roel!
Enter the Russian white knight?

ParticipantExcellent. Wonderful to see, Ilargi.
I would suggest (idiotically, since I am far away from Greek realities) that the network of solidarity clinics should quickly get themselves incorporated (as a rigidly non-profit operation). The for-profit health corporations will be coming for them immediately- and the best, perhaps only, way to fight back, is with an equal entity.

ParticipantFor those who crave more specific instructions:
In the left column of this site, towards the top of the page, there is a section for making donations. If you would like to donate to the Greek Clinic use this section…BUT MAKE SURE YOUR DONATION AMOUNT ENDS WITH .99. Donations ending with any other decimal values will go to the AE site itself.

Keymastercasamurphy,
Sorry if that wasn’t clear enough.

ParticipantOk, I made another donation to the Athens fund and I didn’t forget to make one to the TAE either. Guilt works.
On a serious note, thanks for providing objective reporting about the plight of the Greek people. We don’t receive objective reporting about anything important from the msm in the USA anymore. Sad. At least I’m old enough to remember a time when there was some quality journalism. Our younger people have never experienced it.July 9, 2015 at 6:27 pm #22268Raúl Ilargi Meijer
Keymaster“Our younger people have never experienced it.”
And that’s quite something.

ParticipantGive Melanie a few years and she will know how the Greeks feel now. Oh, to be so naive and out of touch with reality. Anyone in the world not being systematically impoverished via Debt-Money Tyranny is being bombed or is threatened to be bombed until they people can be systematically impoverished via Debt-Money Tyranny.
As Henry Ford so plainly elucidated, “The one aim of these [international] financiers is world control by the creation of inextinguishable debt.” -
