When you receive an FHbp-based meningococcal vaccine, two coordinated things occur. First, the immune system generates specific antibodies against FHbp. Second – and equally important – these antibodies activate the complement system (both classical and alternative pathways), which is the main mechanism that ultimately kills the bacteria.
What concerns me is the following:
Because FHbp is a protein that naturally binds human FH, the injected antigen can form FHbp–FH complexes in vivo. In addition to the intended anti-FHbp antibodies, a small proportion of the antibody response may be directed against epitopes of the FHbp–FH complex. This might lead to the generation of low-level antibodies that cross-react with human FH (anti-FH antibodies). Since FH is an endogenous human protein, the risk is that such autoantibodies could interfere with its normal regulatory function and potentially disrupt complement control on host cells.

So, no wonder the navy after many days, finally moved the carrier out of range (barely) of Iranian missiles.
The sailors obviously were putting up quite a stink to the brass!P.S. Many people don’t know this but in times past, any British naval captain found guilty of neglect in losing his majesty ‘s navy ship, was brought back to Britain, tried, and hung!
The good olde days!There has been a sovereign Persian nation continuously in the place we currently call Iran for all of known history. Alexander was a speed bump but he’s dead now and Persia isn’t.
What that should tell anyone who gives the matter a second thought is that the nation that is there is STRONG. It’s an extremely tough neighborhood. Those who are unable to protect their belongings with military force are quickly consumed by those who can. Only the strongest survive.
Anyone who even dreams about conquering that nation is not just a fool. They are insane.
“Hostile Terrorists”. “Thieving Savages” . “Jihadist Muslims” What an interestingly Imperialistic way to assign names and labels. Invade a country to conquer and exploit its population (or just kill them off and take their stuff!) and when the locals who are defending their own homes fight back call them “terrorists!”. Slick bit of side-stepping and redirection, I must say.
Well, you know me! Jump straight into the deep-end with both boots and just go from there. My wild but plausible hypothesis is that the fight(s) we are in today are simply the SAME fight that first went hyper-kinetic in what we IMPERIALISTICALLY refer to as the “Bronze Age Collapse” when in truth it was simply the beginning of the locals throwing out the colonializing Imperial invaders who swept in, killed our people and stole our land. It’s taking quite a bit longer than we thought it would. Current events are not a new fight. They are… as a continuum…. the SAME fight as manifested in the so-called “Bronze Age Revolution of Independence”. Ongoing to this very moment.
