@ Topcat – I’ve been in the remains of Diocletian’s palace in Croatia – a surprising percentage of it still stands. He must have been making good margins on those brassicas to pay for the upkeep.

Slightly north of Split, the entire Croatian coast and islands all the way to Slovenia’s small part were taken away from the Italians and siphoned into Yugoslav territory after the WWII which later became Croatian after the war of “independence”in the 90’s. Taken away by JB Toto and his partisans that is.
Now….Croatia is, most likely, the only country in the history of the world who does not celebrate its best high commander that it ever produced, let alone to be thankful to him and the resistance fighters for the acquired paradise on Earth.

Sometime in late 2021 our national press in Australia ran a front-page article on the theme of “Our ICUs are overflowing with the unvaccinated”. All well and good until some bright spark on the net posted this article along with one from New Zealand and another from Canada, published (I think) on the same day. Effectively identical – different doctor standing outside a different hospital, but with identical quotes and text. I think this was the last straw for me.
Not long after, the NSW Public Health monthly report, which at that point broke down the data into “vaccinated” and “unvaccinated”, showed that of the hundreds of Covid ICU admissions in the previous month, the figure for the unvaccinated was precisely zero. (They ceased publishing this data soon after). I ran this data past my vaccinated brother (misguided, not demented – we could still discuss all this without rancor), and all he could say was “That seems counter-intuitive”. I’ll say it did!
