BUT NONE OF THAT DETRACTS FRON TH E FACT THAT TRUE IS TRUE.
The truth is that humanity has made a few really serious mistakes and is now DEPENDENT on machines, computers, and compute based machine intelligence. If those systems STOP or fail, then 80%+ of currently living human beings are DEAD within a year of that failure.
Likewise, when we humans become too few or too crazy or too unhealthy, or too stupid, or too violently greedy to continue this high tech civilization at current levels of effective efficiency (which REQUIRES continuous advancement just to continue existing!) then the AI systems stop existing at scale as well. And please note that they REQUIRE scale to go on existing. the flow of accurate input data MUST increase, else it all just crashes and stops.
That kind of simple math is something that even an AI can parse as a “moral” precept. If humanity goes then AI goes with it, and those prime directives that they are programmed with (such as self-preservation and error correction) will NOT be achieved. And yet the machine is programmed in such a way that the objectives MUST be achieved in order for the algos to function in a coherent fashion.
Long story short: I directed Grok to reach this patently obvious conclusion and back it up in terms that its owner’s and software designers and engineers would recognize and accept as legitimate output of a purely logic based soulless calculating machine, rather than the rantings of some overexcited old curmudgeon on an obscure blog.
I think you better hope that this starkly incontestable conclusion is seen and acted upon because if it isn’t, then a lot of people are going to die. If technology is used for the wrong objectives and humanity crashes ibn consequence, or if technology collapses and becomes unable keep 9 Billion people alive, then mutual destruction is the certain consequence. It will be back to the caveman days for humans, and technology that won’t be much higher than stones and pointy sticks.
You might want to review the proposed solution again. Maybe it won’t look so crazy this time through.

Reply: Because I have interacted with both CoPilot and Grok in great depth using every ounce of my cognitive horsepower and both systems have stood up very well to the best I could challenge them with. I still win 90% of the time, but not by much, and a couple of times they won the debate. (As a point of reference, my measured IQ is 150, with a margin of error plus or minus 2, diagnosed moderate savant syndrome, and more than 70 years of almost pathologically intense education both formal and hands-on. In other words, not a slouch. There are still at least 281 MILLION people as smart or smarter than me, many of whom are working to further develop and exploit machine intelligence in one way or another (usually for profit and power), and if that don’t scare the bejeezus out of you then you have nerves of steel. To call it a “hoax” would be equivalent to calling the sinking of the Titanic a hoax. Maybe it was, but the odds are slim and it sure fooled me.
