Covidian Codswallop”April 16, 2021 at 9:12 am #73257GermParticipantThe ‘pandemic’ has often been referred to as having been taken over by a “confluence of interests”.
It doesn’t get more blatant than this:
We are being played:“A company in which Health Secretary Matt Hancock and his sister have shares has won contracts from NHS Wales, it has emerged.
NHS Wales gave the company, which specialises in the secure storage, shredding and scanning of documents, £300,000 of business this year.
Labour said it amounted to “cronyism at the heart of this government”.April 16, 2021 at 9:21 am #73258GermParticipantPfizer CEO has also said it is ‘likely’ people will need a third coronavirus vaccine dose within a year.
Mmm hmm. Tell me another one.

April 16, 2021 at 1:34 pm #73273AdlertagParticipantFrom some recent research papers in the past couple of weeks posted on medrixv for peer review, only 39 percent of potential spike protein mutations have yet been realised. The number of mutations is doubling every 71 days. Estimates are one mutation for every 600k infections. Estimated true number of global cases is nearer 400 million with true infections running considerably higher than those reported.
Paper posted in the past couple of days has anticipated the mutations that will happen and also the position and changes that will occur. Some of these will be antibody and vaccine escaped.April 16, 2021 at 1:41 pm #73274AdlertagParticipantAnother recent study https://academic.oup.com/bib/article/22/2/1297/6015892 found circRNAs encoded by SARS-Cov-2. In other viruses such as HPV these are linked to cancer.
April 16, 2021 at 3:39 pm #73283RototillermanParticipantQuestion for @Germ, perhaps others living in the UK: what would you see as the risks for an unvaccinated American (who adamantly wants to stay unvaccinated) as far as traveling to the UK in the next few months? My sister lives in England, and has developed a life-threatening medical condition. I’m getting a lot of family pressure, understandably, to help take care of her during this upcoming time period, but I’m wary of getting caught in a “you can’t get on a plane to come back unless you’re vaccinated” sort of situation. Also, are there other risks I might get caught up in? My personal view of the UK government is that they’re mad, given the over the top reaction and lockdowns we’ve seen. Especially after Doc Robinson’s report that UK deaths are actually below that of the last five years running the other day.

It has occurred to me we are somehow “waiting” for someone to call this nonsense off.Yet that person, or rather those people, are to be found not outside the window, but dauntingly, though, definitely in the mirror.
April 17, 2021 at 12:13 am #73302Doc RobinsonParticipantCDC: Out of 75 million fully vaccinated Americans, 5,800 got COVID-19, and 74 died
‘The vaccine is working as expected‘
https://www.businessinsider.com/infected-after-covid-vaccination-cdc-numbers-breakthrough-infections-2021-4Hold on a minute. We were told to expect that if we got vaccinated and later got infected by Covid, the infection would be less severe than if we didn’t get vaccinated. However, the CDC numbers show otherwise.
From the above article, the CDC says there were 5800 breakthrough infections (among those who were fully vaccinated), and 29% of them were asymptomatic. This means that 71%, or 4118 of them, were symptomatic. The percentage of symptomatic cases that were severe enough to be hospitalized was 400/4188 = 9.7% for those who were vaccinated.
The latest report from the CDC about the Covid disease burden (updated Jan 19, 2021) estimates that there were 70.4 symptomatic cases (unvaccinated), of which 4.1 million were hospitalized. The percentage of symptomatic cases that were severe enough to be hospitalized was 4.1/70.4 = 5.8% for those who were not vaccinated.
5.8% vs 9.7% is a significant difference in the percentage being hospitalized. This indicates that vaccinated people who later come down with a symptomatic case of Covid tend to have more severe infections than those who are not vaccinated.

April 17, 2021 at 12:54 am #73303Doc RobinsonParticipantFrom the Business Insider article I linked above:
The risk of a breakthrough infection might not be equal among everyone who’s been vaccinated. The CDC said about 40% of the breakthrough infections reported had been discovered in people over 60, a demographic in which vaccines are often less effective.
“It is likely that elderly individuals, particularly if they are frail and have underlying conditions, might not have responded as well to the vaccine,” Fauci said.
That’s B.S.
That doesn’t address why 60% of the breakthrough infections were discovered in people under 60.40% of the breakthrough cases were in people over 60, but more than 40% of the vaccinated people are over 60, according to the CDC numbers (linked below).
If the older people didn’t respond as well to the vaccine as the younger people, as Fauci claims, then the number of breakthrough cases should be skewed toward the older people, but they’re not.
The younger people (under 60) have a disproportionately larger share of the number of breakthrough cases!
