Regarding AI, I’ll just point out, my back-of-the-napkin calculations based on progress reports back in February showed the AI progress graph going vertical this coming August.
…which doesn’t mean it does, because it can’t – it needs physical hardware to run on.
But it does mean we reach whatever current physical limits there are, if any, to CURRENT ai development this summer. And the code itself will presumably be optimizing all this time and continue to optimize precisely because of the physical limits.
And the people directly involved will have drawn these graphs with far more expertise and knowledge and placed their orders for more hardware long ago.
So things should be weird by the end of the summer. Who even knows how much or in what ways.

So, Israel just tried to manipulate the United States into an unprovoked military attack of enormous proportions, which would have included wiping out Iran’s air defense systems, which would thereafter leave them defenseless against further attacks.
Had this megalomaniacally insane course of action been carried out it would most certainly have provoked regional war at the very least, and quite possibly (well within the brackets of plausible possibility) would have provoked World War and even nuclear world war.
