Was outing with extended family and friends this week end.
Among the crowd, there is one guy I like to chat occasionally with, since he provides me with sense ot “general thoughts” out there. Person, who may be labeled by the foreigners as “loud American”, with very strong, iron clad opinions like: “America has 300-400 years of untapped oil reserves”…..
Well he was with the wife visiting NY, first time since 9/11. He “felt reluctance” to disembark from the hop-on-hop-off at the WTC site as not to “re-live” that terrible moment. Well they visited “this and that” on the site. On my side, I told him about my experience on the complex when I was there with my wife in 2019. After the regular walk around the foot-print-memorials of the two towers I was curious about the location of the Building 7. Still not being familiar with the site I asked the guys walking around with the binders full of photos (they were tour guides as far as I could tell). Both that I asked gave me a hard look from the head to the toe and after the long pause pointed the direction to walk toward. The new building was still not fully completed and was fenced. The keeper nearby, again, was awfully stiff about all my inquires,…and….
Just to be interrupted with: “What building 7?”
So, in all those 24 years he never knew about THAT building!
