• Trump On The Verge Of Ending The Israel-Hamas War?! (Margolis)
It’s one of the strangest spectacles in modern politics — watching left-wing pundits struggle to process the possibility that President Donald Trump could be on the verge of ending the Israel–Hamas war. Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shocked the world with a bold peace plan to end the Israel–Hamas war and stabilize Gaza. On Friday, Trump gave Hamas a deadline — accept the deal by Sunday at 6 p.m. Eastern or face consequences. Hamas quickly responded, agreeing to give up control of Gaza and release all remaining hostages, while saying some details still required consultation with other Palestinian factions. Trump’s firm deadline and direct approach have already accomplished what years of empty diplomacy never could — real progress toward peace. But, rather than celebrate the prospect of peace, some commentators seem triggered by the idea that Trump, of all people, might succeed where countless global leaders have failed.
On the latest edition of CNN’s Newsnight, foreign affairs analyst Reena Nina laid out the complex diplomatic environment surrounding the ongoing negotiations. “This is a moment where you’ve got so many of the right things lined up,” she said, noting that regional pressure on Hamas has intensified. “In the Arab world, there’s a — I’m hearing a great deal of pressure from countries like, you know, Turkey and Qatar, saying to Hamas, you’ve got to do this and take this deal.” Nina added that Hamas “realizes there aren’t a lot of windows of opportunity for this,” referencing the earlier Gilad Shalit prisoner swap. “You’re waiting for 20 hostages that are living, that we believe are still alive and possibly as many as 30 bodies,” she explained. Then she made a striking admission: “I do believe this window of opportunity is real… because I really believe President Trump. I really believe he will unleash hell and fury if they don’t follow through with this.”
Even CNN host Abby Phillip couldn’t deny the implications if this pans out. “If President Trump is able to do this, this is a major—it’s a major victory for him,” she said, before quickly pivoting to suggest Trump’s motives might not be purely humanitarian. “He wants the war to end for a lot of reasons. Some of them are personal reasons. He wants that Nobel Peace Prize,” Phillip said. But even she conceded that Trump “does not like the idea of all the death and destruction.” That’s when the tone shifted from analysis to thinly veiled resentment. Liberal commentator Alencia Johnson admitted it was “challenging to actually hear that piece of, you know, Trump being—potentially being the one to get the ceasefire deal.” Her discomfort was palpable. “I would be interested to understand President Trump’s interest in this,” she said, suggesting skepticism about his motives. “He has said some things that are very harmful to the Palestinian people. I don’t know, you know, what his motivations are.”
Imagine being so consumed with Trump Derangement Syndrome that you’d actually lament the prospect of peace simply because it might make Trump look good. Alencia Johnson’s comments captured this perfectly — the left’s reflexive inability to acknowledge any Trump success, even one that could save lives. Ending a brutal war and bringing home hostages should be something everyone celebrates, yet Trump’s critics sound almost offended that he might be the one to accomplish it. CNN’s Scott Jennings was having none of it. “This is not a political issue,” he said bluntly. “Look, President Trump has been clear from the beginning he wants the hostages back.” Jennings reminded viewers that Trump “had an initial deal to get some hostages” soon after taking office in January, but that “Hamas reneged on that deal.” “He’s been clear from the beginning,” Jennings said. “I just want these people back. The people who are alive, we pray that they’re still alive, the remains that exist — it all needs to happen and it needs to happen quickly.”
He didn’t mince words about Hamas either: “I don’t want to be strung along by these terrorists. I want the hostages. That’s what the President wants. And I don’t want him to give them very much time because they don’t deserve it and these people need to come home. We’re almost two years into this.” Even CNN’s own analysts couldn’t deny the magnitude of the moment, yet the left’s sheer disgust at the possibility of Trump succeeding was unmistakable. You could practically hear the resentment in their voices — not because peace might finally be within reach, but because Trump might get the credit. That’s the sickness at the heart of modern leftism: they would rather see war drag on, hostages remain in tunnels, and innocent people suffer than admit that President Trump’s leadership is delivering results they could only dream of. It’s petty, it’s ideological, and it’s downright shameful.

Conditions.
• Hamas Denies Its Readiness To Surrender Arms Under Trump’s Plan (TASS)
Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi has refuted media reports that the group has allegedly agreed to lay down arms under US President Donald Trump’s plan for settling the conflict in the Gaza Strip. “Mahmoud Mardawi has denied false allegations by the Al Hadath television channel and other media outlets on the progress in the [Gaza] ceasefire talks and the movement’s position on the issue of the surrender of arms,” Hamas said on its Telegram channel. “These allegations are absolutely ungrounded and are reared to discredit [Hamas’] position and mislead the public.” Earlier in the day, the Al Arabiya and Al Hadath television channels reported, citing their sources, that Hamas had notified the United States that it agreed to lay down arms.
On September 29, the White House unveiled the US president’s “comprehensive plan” to resolve the Gaza conflict, consisting of 20 points. The proposal includes temporary external administration of the enclave and the deployment of international stabilization forces. Israel has voiced its support for the plan. On October 3, Hamas handed over its response to Trump’s proposal to the mediator. It expressed readiness to release all living Israeli hostages held in the enclave and hand over the bodies. The movement also confirmed its willingness to turn over the responsibility of running Gaza to a Palestinian body of independent technocrat politicians. However, Hamas noted that the remaining points of Trump’s plan regarding the future of Gaza should be discussed within a “comprehensive Palestinian national framework.” A new round of indirect Israel-Hamas talks will take place in Egypt on October 6.

Demos all over the place…
• Rubio Admits Israel Losing International Support (RT)
The war in Gaza has strained Israel’s public image throughout the world, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said. He made his comments after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced they would suspend offensive operations in Gaza City following an agreement between West Jerusalem and Hamas on a prisoner swap proposed last week by US President Donald Trump.“Whether we agree with it or not, we have seen countries like the UK, Australia, Canada, and others come out and sort of signal support for – or announce support for – a Palestinian state. We have seen, even in our own domestic politics, some of the attacks on Israel,” Rubio told Margaret Brennan on CBS Face the Nation on Sunday. “And I think that’s the point the president is making here, is that whether you believe it was justified or not, right or not, you cannot ignore the impact this has had on Israel’s global standing,” he added.
Israel has so far defied Trump’s call for an immediate end to its airstrikes in the Palestinian enclave, where the death toll since October 2023 has topped 67,000. Rubio, however, expressed confidence that Israel would halt the strikes once the prisoner swap is finalized. “Once you agree on the logistics of how this is going to happen – I think the Israelis and everyone acknowledge you can’t release hostages in the middle of strikes, so the strikes will have to stop,” he said.Although Hamas has agreed to hand over all remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, it has so far refused to disarm.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, has declined to commit to a full withdrawal from Gaza.

You break it you bought it.
• Democrats Are About to Trigger Mass Layoffs of Federal Workers (Margolis)
The Democrats have backed themselves into a corner again, and this time, it’s not just political theater—it’s a standoff with serious consequences. The Schumer Shutdown is dragging into its second week, and President Donald Trump is done waiting for Democrats to come around. The message from the White House is crystal clear: if the talks with Democrats “are absolutely going nowhere,” as National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett put it, mass layoffs of federal workers are coming. The shutdown began when Senate Democrats refused to support a short-term funding bill that would have kept government agencies running through November 21. Their justification? They’re insisting on reopening the loophole closed by the One Big Beautiful Bill, which had prevented taxpayer dollars from funding health care for illegal immigrants. On top of that, they’re pushing to spend billions on other radical left-wing priorities.
Hassett is still holding out hope that Democrats will blink first, saying that perhaps “a fresh start at the beginning of the week” might lead to compromise. But with each passing day, that hope looks thinner. The administration has already warned this was coming—White House Budget Director Russell Vought said just before the shutdown that layoffs would begin “one to two days” after the funding lapse if no deal was reached. Now, the writing’s on the wall. Federal agencies are already trimming staff. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has cut roughly 1% of its workforce, and more agencies are expected to follow suit if Democrats keep stonewalling.
President Trump made it very clear who will responsible for these layoffs[..] “I call them Democrat layoffs,” he said. “They’re Democrat layoffs… Uh, they’re causing it. We’re ready to go back. You know, we have a record-setting economy. We have a record-setting country. Prices are way down. We’re doing better than the country’s ever done and the Democrats hate seeing that. It’s up to them… Uh, anybody laid off, that’s because of the Democrats.” He’s made it clear that his administration is ready to stand firm and let voters see exactly who’s willing to gamble with Americans’ livelihoods in exchange for political leverage. Democrats wanted this shutdown to hurt Trump; instead, it’s revealing their priorities. Now they have to decide what’s more important: free healthcare for illegal immigrants or the jobs of American federal workers.
Trump isn’t bluffing. Behind closed doors, administration officials reportedly see this moment as an opportunity to do more than just win a standoff—they see a chance to make structural changes. After years of bureaucratic bloat, Trump’s team views this as a moment to permanently streamline the federal workforce, cutting costs and reshaping agencies that have long outgrown their usefulness. This shutdown is more than a budget dispute—it’s a test of priorities. The White House is protecting taxpayers and forcing accountability. Democrats, meanwhile, are digging in on giveaways that benefit the few at the expense of the many. The question now is simple: will Democrats end this shutdown before more Americans lose their jobs, or will they keep the lights off in Washington until they get free healthcare for people who aren’t even citizens? The clock is ticking, and Trump just made it clear he’s willing to let them live with the consequences of their choice.

“..bounties of $10,000 per kill..”
• Kristi Noem On Serious Threats Facing CBP Officials in Chicago (CTH)
Chicago is well known as a safe haven for domestic communist activity. Radical political groups, the Weather Underground, Revolutionary Communists, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and their Chicago Alinsky disciples all have called Chicago home for their base of operations As a result, it does not come as a surprise that all these hard-core leftist elements have converged in commonality to physically fight against any effort to bring peace and stability to the Chicago metropolitan area. However, the scale and scope of their activity is still alarming to hear when explained by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. In this interview Secretary Noem notes that bounties of $10,000 per kill have been placed on the heads of the ICE/CBP officials currently operating to arrest criminal cartel members and illegal aliens. While she is careful to avoid giving details of ongoing investigations and interdiction efforts, Secretary Noem notes the scale of the threat presented by the alignment of these radical groups and their support for the criminal cartels who operate in the area.

“..from a risk management perspective, initially the surveillance and spying operation was a low-risk endeavor.”:”
• Obama’s Spies & Lies: The Junk Intel Scandal DECLASSIFIED Part 1 (CTH)
Friend of the Treehouse John Spiropoulos has put together a series of videos explaining how President Obama, FBI Director James Comey and CIA Director John Brennan constructed a coverup to hide their political surveillance operation. From the perspective of Obama, Comey and Brennan, expanding Hillary Clinton’s Trump-Russia collusion narrative was the key element to hide the activity of the administration prior to the November 2016 election. That’s the motive for the FBI and CIA to collaborate on the agenda after the shocking outcome of the 2016 election result. The December ’16 Joint Analysis Report (JAR), and the January ’17 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), were fabricated to enhance this larger coverup objective. Spiropoulos has taken the time to put the deconstruction of the ICA into a simple to follow video format. For the next few days CTH will outline a series of videos that will walk through the deconstruction of the ICA narrative, which was the centerpiece for President Obama, James Comey and John Brennan to hide their prior surveillance operations. Today begins episode #1. “Obama Spies and Lies”
Remember, from a risk management perspective, initially the surveillance and spying operation was a low-risk endeavor. Obama held power and was going to handing off operations to Hillary Clinton. The Clinton administration would retain the officials who were doing the surveillance/spying, and no one would ever know. Donald Trump was not expected to win the election. When he did, all of the participants were suddenly at risk. President Obama and every member of his cabinet involved in the spying operations, then used Clinton’s “Russiagate” smear to cover up Obama’s “Spygate” activity. Expanded timeline below.
The IRS was used to identify targets 2011 and 2012, until discovered in April ’12. Suddenly, President Obama has a problem. President Obama then sends his Chief of Staff, Jack Lew, to run the IRS and block discoveries around the IRS weaponization. From April 2012 through April 2016, the Obama administration then began spying on political opposition, using the FBI to conduct surveillance through their access to the NSA database.
In April 2016, NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers was alerted by the NSA compliance officer who noted the uptick in database access activity by the FBI searching the Republican Primary Candidate field. Post April 2016 the Obama administration again had a problem. Enter FBI operation “Crossfire Hurricane,” July 2016, in an effort to remove the political risk. October 2016, the FBI rushes a FISA application through the FISC, circumventing the missing ‘Woods File’, with the Chris Steele dossier as evidence. October 2016, NSA Director Rogers sends the first official notification of the FBI, using the NSA database to the oversight body, the FISA Court. December 2016, worried about Trump now discovering the NSA database spying, the Obama administration wraps the Clinton smear into official policy, blaming the Russians and validating Crossfire Hurricane. That’s where the Joint Analysis Report and Intelligence Community Assessment become critical.
May 2017, needing to extend the coverup of the FBI activity, special counsel Robert Mueller then takes over Crossfire Hurricane. All FBI evidence and personnel transfers to Mueller. April 2019, Robert Mueller operation wraps up, and prior activity coverup shifts to Impeachment process. July 2019, John Durham kicks in extending DOJ/FBI control through 2020 election. Fall 2020, mail-in ballots triggered to facilitate 2020 election outcome. Install Joe Biden, shift to autopen administration, maintain Obama team influence and coverup objective. January 2021, FBI triggers Operation Arctic Frost, targeting Trump supporters and 2020 election researchers. FBI again using NSA database search queries to identify targeting.
March 2021, FBI operation ‘Arctic Frost’ – results are fed to J6 Committee and DHS. TSA triggers “quiet skies” targeting via results from Arctic Frost. It’s one long continuum of coverup activity within Main Justice and the FBI, supported by all other various agencies (CIA) who were operating in support. Question: What were they covering up? Answer: The original 2012 through 2016 political spying operation within the Obama administration, as carried out by the same Main Justice and FBI operators.

“Good Americans, bad Europeans”
• War Is Creeping Up On Us (Paul Craig Roberts)
Gilbert Doctorow is a thoughtful and well-informed commentator on the challenges with which the West confronts Putin. In his most recent postings, he asks and answers the questions, “What do the Russians think of Putin? Does his war of attrition strategy today enjoy support? Or do Russians want to end the War as quickly as possible by a decapitation strike on Kiev?” Judging by the discussion on controlled Russian state television, Doctorow concludes that the thinking class, the top echelons of power, sees another major Western escalation on its way with the provision of long range nuclear capable missiles to Ukraine along with $140 billion euros in stolen Russian assets. This will prolong the conflict for several years while Europe builds up its war fighting capability. The alternative of an Oreshnik strike on Kiev that would end Ukraine’s fighting ability looks to be the better choice. In short, the conflict has gone on too long. Time to bring it to an end. But can Putin bite the bullet and end the conflict with a victory?
Having watched Putin’s address to the Valdai Discussion Club, Doctorow concludes by choosing to ignore the new and increasing threats the West is presenting to Russia and relying instead on good relations with Trump, Putin has brought himself a big problem of his own making. Doctorow goes on to say: “I have over the past year spoken very critically of Paul Craig Roberts for his repeated denunciations of Putin as the man leading us to WWIII by his constantly turning the other cheek and allowing Russia’s red lines to be crossed. Now, regrettably, I admit that PCR was right. Yesterday at the Valdai Club Putin lost my respect and I think I am not the only one who understood that he is showing cowardice. The biggest loudmouth Russophobe on Capitol Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham must be sipping champagne right now.
“After all, the whole sense of the Oreshniks is that they can get the job done without opening the Pandora’s box of tactical nukes. And yet Putin has just pulled up his own red lines with respect to American long-range missiles being supplied to Kiev. A year ago, his policy line was that the supplier of the missiles and the provider of all the target input necessary to operate the rockets (USA) would be considered a cobelligerent, inviting a Russian missile strike in response. And what did we hear yesterday? That these missiles do not change the situation on the battlefield. That is a barefaced lie. “The do or die moment for Russia is fast approaching. And with Putin in charge, it looks like ‘die.’ “I say this as an outsider. After all, it is for the Russians to decide who governs them and they need no coaching from us. But I – and you – are bystanders whose survivability on this planet depends on Russia’s leader making the right decisions. His apparent belief yesterday that ingratiating himself with Donald Trump is more important than publicly and forthrightly defending Russia’s red lines against what Trump and Merz and Starmer and Macron and Ursula von der Leyen are plotting puts us on a direct path to WWIII.”
Reading Doctorow’s comments on Putin’s Valdai speech, I get the impression that Putin and Lavrov have chosen to evade reality rather than to confront it. I am unsure I would do any better when the reality is nuclear war. But it doesn’t have to be nuclear war. Putin has had the soft voice but not the big stick. Consequently, the Kremlin seems irresolute and vulnerable. Here are Doctorow’s comments. Read them and make up your own mind. “Good Americans, bad Europeans: Putin’s latest policy position in a nutshell “Yesterday I commented on President Putin’s speech to the Valdai Discussion Club gathering in Sochi, saying that it ignored the new and very serious threats that the USA and Europe are presenting to Russia and only repeated the now stale litany of Putin remarks on how the confrontation with the USA and NATO developed from the 1990s to today and how the new world order is unfolding with the support of the Global South.
“Actually, the speech was worse than I described. “It was crystal clear from the speech and from his answers in the Q&A that Vladimir Putin is desperately seeking to keep Trump on his side for the sake of normalization of relations, whatever it takes. By doing so, one might reason, Russia will tame the Europeans who have to back down in the face of a US-Russian fait accompli. “It is only in this light that I can explain Putin’s very strange decision to publicly support the Trump 20-point ‘peace plan’ for Gaza that still awaits Hamas approval. True, he adds the condition that Israel must recognize the two-state solution. But that condition gets lost in the bigger fact that yesterday Putin spoke approvingly of Trump’s naming Tony Blair to join the planned colonial style Peace Board that Trump himself will head to govern Gaza and Palestine until a suitable self-governing force emerges from some reformed Palestinian Administration. Tony Blair, the unindicted war criminal who encouraged and enabled the murderous, illegal U.S. invasion of Iraq. This same Tony Blair was described by Putin yesterday as a very experienced statesman in whose residence he had spent a day or more at the start of the new millennium, had shared coffee while both were still in their pajamas.
“I believe that Putin is ignoring the obvious fact that Donald Trump has only contempt for those who try to ingratiate themselves with him. In this regard, Putin’s remarks yesterday have done Russia far more harm than good.“Meanwhile, on the sidelines, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has compounded the damage to Russia’s standing by his latest interviews dealing with the question of U.S. supplied Tomahawks to Kiev. One such interview may be watched in English at
“Lavrov is talking nonsense. If Tomahawks end up in Ukraine IT WILL CHANGE THE MILITARY SITUATION. Here again, a leading spokesman for Russia is talking nonsense because the Kremlin is trying to differentiate between the bad Europeans and the good Americans. “Not only are the Tomahawks a serious challenge to Russia’s air defenses because they are nuclear capable and may be carriers of a first nuclear strike intended to be a knock-out blow, but the handover of such missiles to Kiev clears the way for Germany’s Chancellor Merz to do what he has wanted to do from the moment he took office, to deliver German Taurus missiles to the Ukrainians. Merz was insisting that the USA go through the door first before he would act. “The American Tomahawks represent 40-year-old technology and so may be shot down by Russian air defenses from the very first salvo, but such interceptions are never 100% perfect. Meanwhile, the German Taurus is very modern in design and could do a great deal of damage before the Russians find effective counter measures.
“All in all, given the rising threats to Russia coming from Europe which the Russian President is doing nothing to answer directly by setting out clearly Moscow’s counter threats, the prospects for Russia winning in its confrontation with the West have received a serious setback by the Kremlin’s decision to bet all on good relations with Trump.” Doctorow discusses with Glenn Diesen Putin’s mild responses to increasing Western provocations and strikes against internal Russian infrastructure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQdNcL7XkU8 Doctorow explains, as I have, that Putin has created a picture of Russia as endlessly tolerant of provocations. Doctorow thinks that Putin’s failure to stand up for Russia could result in his replacement. Putin failed to defend any of his declared red lines and now has ceased to declare them. This fact has encouraged escalation. Putin’s efforts to reassure the West convinced the West of Russia’s lack of resolution. Putin mistakenly thought that the West would respond positively to good will.
People all over the world hoped that Putin would stand up against Washington’s hegemony as the Soviet leaders did. The world is tired of being bullied by America’s Zionist Neoconservatives. Hegemony has made America a looter rather than a producer. Looting does not produce an economy that benefits the citizens, only the powerful. The distribution of income and wealth in the US is worse than anything imaginable in my youthful years. The American people are not benefitting from hegemony. b Washington’s hegemony, mainly in service to Israel, aided and abetted by Putin, is driving the world to destruction.

• Poland and Baltics Rejected ‘New Format’ For Talking To Russia – Merkel (RT)
Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she proposed that EU members adopt “a new format” of talking to Russia before the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, but Poland and the Baltic states turned it down. Merkel, who retired as chancellor in 2021 after 16 years in power, was among the brokers of the 2014 and 2015 Minsk agreements aimed at stopping the fighting between the Ukrainian government and the Donbass republics in east of the country, which declared independence from Ukraine after a violent Western-backed coup in Kiev. The deals in the Belarusian capital were reached within the Normandy Format, which involved Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France.
During her interview with Hungarian YouTube channel Partizan on Friday, the former chancellor claimed that “already in June 2021, I felt that [Russian President Vladimir] Putin was no longer taking the Minsk agreement seriously, and that is why I wanted a new format… back then where we could talk to Putin directly as the EU.” “Some [at the European Council] did not support that. They were primarily the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia); but Poland was also against it because they feared that we would not have a common policy towards Russia,” she said. According to Merkel, there was no desire to work out such a common policy within the bloc and her proposal was dropped.
Moscow repeatedly blamed Ukraine and the West for the failure of the Minsk agreements, saying that Berlin and Paris did nothing to persuade Kiev to fulfill its part of the deal. After the 2022 escalation, both Merkel and former French President Francois Hollande admitted that the accords were never meant to bring peace, but rather to buy time for Kiev to strengthen its military with NATO’s help. Putin later called the Minsk agreements “a trivial deception.” Merkel also said that in order to make sure that “Russia does not win the war and Ukraine remains a sovereign, free country” the EU must “become militarily stronger,” but also “consider how diplomacy can work.” Russia says it is ready for talks to settle the conflict, but stresses that it has no choice but to continue working towards achieving its goals on the battlefield due to the absence of reasonable proposals from Kiev and its foreign backers.

• Ukraine Not Ready For EU – Czech Election Winner (RT)
Ukraine is currently not ready to become an EU member, billionaire Andrej Babis has said after his right-wing ANO party won the Czech Republic’s parliamentary election. nANO got 34.51% of the ballots as a result of the vote on Friday and Saturday, beating the Spolu (Together) group led by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala by 11.15%. Fiala has been a staunch supporter of Kiev in its conflict with Russia. Shortly after the preliminary results were announced on Saturday evening, Babis was asked by a journalist from the Ukrainian outlet Suspilne if he intends to support Kiev’s accession to the EU after becoming Czech prime minister again. He held the position between 2017 and 2021.
“But you are not prepared for the EU. We have to end the war first. Of course, we can cooperate with Ukraine, but you are not ready for the EU,” he replied. The ANO party leader also doubled down on his campaign promise that Prague will stop providing direct assistance to Kiev. “We are helping Ukraine through the EU. The EU is helping Ukraine and it is within the European budget, the next budget and we are paying a lot of money to the European budget. And this is the way we will continue to help,” he explained. Babis again expressed skepticism regarding the ammunition initiative for Kiev which had been masterminded by Czech President Petr Pavel, saying that “nobody should make money because of the war. We should be organized by NATO.”
Kiev was granted EU candidate status a few months after the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022. Earlier this week, Vladimir Zelensky urged an acceleration of accession talk with Brussels, telling EU leaders that “we need real progress.”Moscow, which has categorically ruled out Ukraine’s membership in NATO, does not object to the country joining the EU due it being an economic bloc rather than a military one. “Ukraine has set itself the goal… of joining the EU. I repeat, it is Ukraine’s legitimate choice – how to build its international relations,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in September.

• Pro-EU Protesters Try To Storm Georgia’s Presidential Palace (ZH)
Chaos has once again hit Georgia’s streets, as a large group of demonstrators attempted to storm the presidential palace in the capital Saturday, at a moment of controversial municipal elections. Georgia’s ruling party Georgian Dream has gone so far as to describe unrest in the capital is an attempt to stage a coup in the country. “This is a direct attempt at a coup. They literally broke into the presidential palace,” the ruling party’s general secretary and Tbilisi Mayor, Kakha Kaladze, has said. Opposition parties have charged Georgian Dream with being too close to Russia and running the country based on authoritarian rule, and so called for the mass boycott of the municipal elections.
Thousands of protesters were seen in Freedom Square and along the central Rustaveli Avenue. The flag of the European Union was being waved prominently alongside Georgian flags, which for ruling officials has raised the spectre of the influence of Western ‘anti-Russian’ NGO’s.Protesters had at one point set fires, blocked roads, and engaged in confrontations with police – resulting in riot control measures being deployed. Russian media says: Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze reiterated his claim that the protests were “organized by foreign intelligence agencies” to overthrow the government. He vowed an “uncompromising” stance against lawbreakers, stating that “anyone who participates in operations ordered by foreign special services will be given a just punishment,” according to First Channel. By evening, groups were seen marching toward the presidential palace and tried to breach the perimeter fence, after which the government declared it an illegal gathering.
RT writes further, “People began gathering in the center of Tbilisi Saturday evening. Later, one of the organizers urged demonstrators to take the keys to the presidential residence into their own hands. They stormed the property and managed to break into the courtyard of the residence.” Protesters earlier en route to the standoff at parliament and the presidential grounds… The country of some 3.7 million people has been beset by accusations of election fraud under ruling officials. These charges grew more fierce in the wake of last year’s contested parliamentary elections, during which time the government froze the EU accession process. Once again a former Soviet satellite state finds itself in the center of an ‘east-west’ struggle involving European integration on one side, and the Russian sphere of economic and political influence on the other.

“..a growing understanding of what this new “save democracy” claim is all about. None of it has anything to do with elections, freedom or liberty.”:
• Two More Election Wins for Sovereign Nationalism (CTH)
In addition to the Japanese election victory of Sanae Takaichi, now positioned to be the first female Prime Minister of Japan, both the Czech Republic and nation state of Georgia held elections yesterday. In the Czech Republic, billionaire businessman Andrej Babis won parliamentary elections, with his populist ANO party receiving around 35% of the vote. This gains ANO 80 seats in the 200-seat lower house – up from 72 seats four years ago. Andrej Babis will now likely enter a coalition with anti-Green Deal “Motorists for Themselves,” (lol) and the anti-illegal immigrant Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) party, led by the Czech-Japanese entrepreneur Tomio Okamura. While this coalition will likely not exit the EU, this coalition will strongly push-back against the efforts of Brussels bureaucrats to control the national decisions of independent nations.

The biggest loser in the Czech election is Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who has relied upon a sketchy assembly of Czech arms dealers to provide him weapons via highly corrupt NATO/EU payment systems. As noted by the BBC, Babis “has already vowed to scrap the successful Czech ammunition initiative – which has delivered 3.5 million shells to Ukraine since 2022. “Babis claims it lacks transparency, but Czech government officials who created the scheme say it works precisely because it is not transparent. Under the initiative, Czech arms dealers use their international contacts to procure shells for Ukraine on the global market, with the bulk of the money coming from EU and NATO partners. Some of the producers are in countries that have relationships with Russia but as the deal is arranged with Czech dealers their involvement remains private.” In essence, the Czech arms dealers delivering weapons to Ukraine are also delivering weapons to Russia. [Sound familiar?] The new Czech government will continue letting NATO/USA buy weapons for Ukraine from Czech arms dealers, but the govt will no longer permit the operation from hiding the transactions. Russia will know which of their arms suppliers are also delivering weapons to Ukraine. [Oh dear]
The other big election outcome was the municipal elections in Georgia. Following the 2024 independent Parliamentary elections of Georgia Dream, the entire apparatus of western NGOs, western intelligence, EU and NATO alliances, have been funding opposition efforts in Georgia. Their EU’s yearlong manipulation effort culminated in a massive rally, turned riot, on the streets of Tbilisi last night. However, the Georgian people rejected the pro-EU manipulation and resoundingly elected Georgia Dream (nationalists) to lead their municipal elections. Mayoral and council elections were won by candidates who supported the sovereign state of Georgia. The biggest losers in the Georgia elections were EU President Ursula von der Leyen, the Brussels bureaucrats and again Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Tbilisi (AFP) – Georgia’s ruling party won local elections Saturday and police fired tear gas and water cannons at anti-government protesters who tried to enter the presidential palace, as tens of thousands of people rallied to the opposition’s call to save democracy. I think ‘the new awakening’, post Ukraine and post EU mobilization, includes a growing understanding of what this new “save democracy” claim is all about. None of it has anything to do with elections, freedom or liberty. The people who organize these “save democracy” rallies, have a totally different perspective on what democracy actually is. They view nationalism, national identity, as something against the interests of the global democracy of totalitarian elites they wish to create. This is a new era, where people are starting to recognize the ‘save democracy’ brand for what it really is. That gives me hope. The government of Georgia should be held up for praise when considering their approach.
Many strong nationalists may not like it, but the Georgia ruling party openly, Georgia Dream, let the left-wing “new democracy” crowd protest for over a year. The Pro-EU troops marched in the streets and yet the govt did not stop the protests all year. Instead, the nationalist govt permitted dissent, even when it was uncomfortable – which is, as we know, a tenuous approach. The Marxists always exploit the willingness of noble govt to remain solid in their view of counter argument. The Georgia Dream decision to permit the continued antagonism by the Brussels funded crowds could have ended badly. However, while the govt permitted the protests, they simultaneously made the argument for sovereign control over their own country. They let the leftists shout at trees, while the Georgia govt made the better argument. It takes courage to do this. Ultimately, this approach showed how the protest group was in the minority, and how the majority of the Georgian people stand firm on the side of sovereign nationalism.
Compare that approach to how the leftists in Romania and Moldova responded to protests. Both governments targeted dissent, attacked the sovereign nationalist movement, banned opposing views, made opposition to their ideology unlawful and weaponized government against their own election systems. You might think the brutal totalitarian approach by both Romania and Moldova ended with victory for the oppressive fascists currently in power; but they govern in a very tenuous and unstable position. (Same with Ukraine, same with France). The unstable nature of their “new democracy” leaves their governing structures exceptionally vulnerable. The need for control is driven by fear. The government of Georgia doesn’t need to fear the future; while the governments of Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and France certainly do, and that’s why they’re acting like it.

The heart of Europe.
• Czech Elections Just Buried The ‘Western Dream’ (Zemanek)
The long-anticipated parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic are over. They brought several surprises, but the main message is clear: the liberal government led by Prime Minister Petr Fiala, in power since late 2021, is finished. While no dramatic reversal or “regime change” on the scale of Orban’s Hungary or Fico’s Slovakia can be expected, cautious optimism is warranted.b The elections for the lower house of parliament were closely watched both domestically and internationally, attracting nearly 70% turnout – the third highest in the history of the independent Czech Republic. Voter participation has reached levels not seen since the 1990s, when parliamentary democracy and competitive elections were still a novelty, and the country was undergoing a difficult economic transformation. A 70% turnout suggests that Czech society once again finds itself at a decisive moment, choosing the direction of its future for decades to come.
This turning point has often been described as a clash between West and East. Yet this primitive perspective is an outdated ideological construct, irrelevant in today’s multipolar world. Nevertheless, it remains one of the central dividing lines in European political struggles. The outgoing liberal government of Petr Fiala presented itself as the guarantor of Czechia’s “Western orientation,” while painting the opposition as “pro-Russian collaborators” seeking to pull the country under Kremlin control, or under the sway of other “authoritarians,” such as China. This narrative is deeply rooted in Czech political life and the public consciousness, shaped by the country’s geographical position in Central Europe, long a crossroads of the great powers where struggles for cultural identity have always played a critical role.
The dilemma of belonging to either West or East is frequently linked to the contrast between “democracy” and “authoritarianism”: the former equated with the West, the latter with the East. Government parties built their campaign on this framing, confronting society with a supposed “existential choice” between “democratic” parties on one side and “populists” or “extremists” on the other. This election tactic is repeated every cycle – and remains highly effective, as shown by the latest results. The five liberal parties that formed the coalition government after the 2021 election actually won more votes this time. This shows that their supporters were unmoved by scandals linking organized crime to state structures and government parties, by broken campaign promises, by authoritarian policies restricting citizens’ rights and freedoms – including freedom of speech – or by a foreign policy that left Czechia at odds with its neighbors and great powers and isolated internationally, with its main allies reduced to Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel.
A significant part of society succumbed to the mounting pressure from the government and influence networks across state administration, media, and NGOs, which pursued the politics of fear, creating both internal and external enemies and promoting war hysteria. Many voters internalized this agenda of liberal authoritarianism. At the same time, a large part of society pushed back by supporting the opposition led by Andrej Babis’ ANO movement. His success is unprecedented in several respects. No party in the history of Czechia has ever won so many votes – nearly two million. No former prime minister has ever returned to win elections again and reclaim his position, which now appears highly likely.

No. They simply don’t like their own, it’s not Russia. Rare these days.
• Why Western Europe Needs Russia As Its Permanent Bogeyman (RT)
The West has mastered one art above all others: Manufacturing fear. Where once it was pandemics or migrants , now the supposed threat from Russia has become Europe’s new epidemic. By conjuring external dangers, Western elites distract from their own economic failings and keep voters in line. In recent weeks, the authorities in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, and the Netherlands have reported ‘suspicious flying objects’ near airports and military bases. Fighter jets scrambled, airports shut, balloons mistaken for hostile drones – each incident presented as if Europe stood on the brink of invasion. The origins of these drones remain unclear, but accusations flew instantly in one direction: Russia. This reflex has become habit. Each unexplained event, no matter how trivial, is inflated into a new ‘pandemic of fear’ with Moscow cast as the culprit.
The immediate purpose is transparent – to convince Washington that Europe faces imminent attack, and therefore to secure continued American support. But beneath this is something deeper. In today’s West, fear has become the primary currency of politics. For at least ten years, Western European elites have perfected the trick of redirecting public discontent by inflating both real and imagined threats. Migrants, viruses, Russia, China – the names change, but the method endures. The media allows the authorities to spin any challenge into an existential emergency, shifting public attention away from economic stagnation.
The migration panic of 2015 was the template. Supposed ‘hordes’ from Africa and the Middle East were cast as a mortal threat to Europe, so frightening that governments re-imposed border controls long absent under the Schengen system. The eurozone debt crisis, which had exposed the EU’s structural economic weakness, faded conveniently from view. Then came Covid-19. Within weeks, European governments had instilled ‘perfect terror’ in their citizens, who accepted sweeping restrictions on their freedoms and forgot their economic grievances. It was, from the standpoint of the elites, an extraordinary success.
And in 2022, Russia’s military operation in Ukraine provided the greatest gift of all. This was not because the EU had the means or will to fully militarize – it doesn’t. But the conflict handed ruling circles a ready-made focus for public anger. Everything could be blamed on Moscow: Inflation, stagnation, insecurity. Fear of Russia became the latest pandemic, and a reliable one. The pattern is clear. Refugees. Pandemics. Moscow. Beijing. The threat always comes from elsewhere, never from domestic mismanagement. And the response is always the same: A politics of distraction and control.
The cycle shows no sign of ending. If the conflict with Russia deescalates without catastrophe, another fear will be found. Artificial intelligence is already a candidate. Discussions of AI replacing humans in every field are exaggerated, but they provide fertile ground for another panic. One can already imagine the appeals: Switch off your phones, protect your children, obey the experts. Citizens conditioned by years of ‘pandemics of fear’ will likely comply. This is not necessarily the product of a detailed conspiracy. Western societies have grown accustomed to panic. Fear has become part of their psychological defense system, a way to avoid confronting the reality that elections bring no real change.

Neighbors + Brussels. Never dull.
• EU Interfering In Hungary’s Domestic Politics – Orban (RT)
Senior EU figures are conspiring with Ukraine to interfere in Hungary’s internal politics in an attempt to depose the current government, Prime Minister Viktor Orban has claimed. His government has repeatedly clashed with Brussels in recent years, especially over EU military aid to Kiev, sanctions against Russia, and the push by some members to admit Ukraine into the bloc. “Influence in Hungarian domestic politics is not only coming from Brussels but also from Kiev,” Orban told the Hetek podcast on Saturday, adding that “Brussels’ objective is to have a pro-Ukrainian government in Hungary.” bOrban denounced the EU’s shift towards militarization, pledging to prevent his country from being dragged into a potential war, even if most other member states are happy with such a prospect.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has similarly alleged that “external intervention experiments to destabilize and overthrow governments are taking place in Central Europe against the patriotic Slovak, Hungarian, and Serbian governments.” The EU leadership is unhappy that they prioritize national interests, defying Brussels, he claimed in a Facebook post in August.nRussia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has made similar allegations to Orban’s, suggesting in an August 13 statement that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is “seriously studying regime change scenarios” in Hungary.
Brussels intends to bring Peter Magyar, the leader of the Hungarian opposition Tisza Party, to power in the 2026 parliamentary elections, “if not sooner,” the agency claimed, adding that significant “administrative, media, and lobbying resources” are supposedly being deployed by Brussels, with Ukrainian intelligence services doing the “dirty work.” Orban also accused Kiev in July of “carrying out secret operations in Hungary” in a bid to influence the upcoming parliamentary elections and bring a pro-Ukrainian government to power in Budapest. He has attributed Kiev’s gripe with his government to the fact that Budapest has vetoed an EU Council statement on Ukraine, blocking accession talks.

• EU ‘War Psychosis’ Facing Increasing Opposition – Hungarian FM (RT)
Hungary’s pro-peace stance on the Ukraine conflict is quietly gaining sympathy among other EU members, although most officials are too fearful to challenge Brussels’ militaristic approach publicly, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has claimed. The Hungarian government has consistently criticized the EU’s military and financial backing for Ukraine, calling it self-destructive and counterproductive to peace efforts. Speaking to Kossuth Radio on Sunday, Szijjarto asserted that “a very harsh war psychosis reigns among European political leaders today.” He argued that the EU’s current strategy of cutting off dialogue with Moscow “will clearly result in a long war.” “They want to burn the money of the European people by buying weapons – say, from America – and sending them to Ukraine,” he said. According to Szijjarto, officials from other EU member states “whisper to us in the corridors that they agree with us,” and even urge Budapest “to stand our ground even more firmly,” he added.
The Hungarian diplomat also praised the recent electoral victory of Andrej Babis’ ANO party in the Czech Republic, describing it as a turning point that could usher in “a completely different European political era.” He said Babis would become a “patriotic Central European prime minister” similar to Hungary’s Viktor Orban and Slovakia’s Robert Fico.Orban hailed the Czech result as “good news for Europe.” Meanwhile Babis reiterated that Ukraine “is not ready for the EU,” echoing Budapest’s stance on Kiev’s membership ambitions. Earlier on Friday, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel revealed that her 2021 proposal for direct EU-Russia talks had been rejected by Poland and the Baltic states, which pushed for a unified position against Moscow.
