I don’t understand why you are telling me about gold. I don’t care all that much about gold, because although it does have importance it does not have anywhere even close to the importance of silver. Silver is money AND a critical strategic metal that we’re running out of very very rapidly. Without silver this civilization can just kiss good-bye to a high tech AI everything computer controlled dystopia in the hands of the elite cretins who think that the world actually, physically, runs on various forms of “money”. It does not. It runs on things being done by humans using real energy and materials.

If you do the homework on annual silver consumption compared to annual silver production (mining/refining plus salvage and recovery) you will see that there is a 225 tons-per-year deficit. We’re using it up faster than we’re producing it. A lot faster. And the plan is to use it up even faster. There is no plan B that I’m aware of, and there are no substitutes that are conductive enough and efficient enough (which is to say, generate less heat due to electrical resistance) to replace silver in the smallest chips and circuits. It is not all about price (although that certainly plays a significant role in the complex problem). There is a totally predictable physical shortage that will manifest more and more apparently as the above-ground silver metal reserves continue to be consumed without being replaced.

Details of Trump’s Greenland deal are trickling in.

The NYT goes on to note that according to two of the officials, who attended the meeting, the deal compares “to the United Kingdom’s bases in Cyprus, which are regarded as British territory.”
