Essentially, the central bank reduced its interest rates. Meanwhile, the 4 big banks RAISED their deposit rates. Obviously, they will have to raise their mortgage rates sooner or later or suffer from the reduced spread.
However, the property hucksters are telling people that interest rates are dropping further and that the market will boom more.
