I call this a shutdown strike.
Automaker Stellantis has confirmed it’s shutting down its assembly plant in Windsor, Ont., for two weeks, largely because of U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles. Unifor Local 444 estimates roughly 4,500 people work in various jobs and trades at the factory.
The interesting aspect of this article (posted in previous comment) is how this left wing – self confessed communist – is trying to use the redneck real man schtick to promote left wing ideologies. A new approach, where communists are now self-sufficient real men, they are no longer pansies who dress like women. I am not convinced, but there will probably be a flood of similar attempts now that there is a power vacuum in left wing politics.
