• Sen. Johnson Says Deficit Is Mortgaging Children’s’ Future (jTN)
Johnson said instead of one “big beautiful bill” the lawmakers should have been broken the various Trump policy initiatives down into a multistep process. He said in a previous interview with Just the News that the legislative package should be broken up into three parts: border security, defense funding and extending the current tax code. “I’ve always been in favor of a multistep process,” Johnson said. “Focus on the areas of agreement. That’s the border [and] defense. Take whatever spending reductions we can get. The Senate and our budget proposal said $850 billion.”
Johnson said the U.S. had to return to the lower levels of pre-pandemic spending in order to get the country back on track. “We have to return to pre-pandemic level spending,” he said. “I think more Americans are aware of the fact, because they just experienced four-year high inflation [and] the devaluation of their dollar, that we’ve got to get this under control.”

• Musk and Trump Part Ways, but Vow to Continue Work of DOGE (DS)
President Donald Trump bade farewell to Elon Musk in the Oval Office on Friday, telling reporters that the Department of Government Efficiency’s work would continue even after the end of Musk’s service as a special government employee. “Elon has worked tirelessly, helping lead the most sweeping and consequential government reform program in generations,” Trump said. “The numbers that we’re talking about are substantial, but they’re going to be very much more substantial with time,” he said. “The numbers could double and triple. Trump also said Congress would work with the White House to update the federal government’s computer systems. Additionally, he said Congress would work to formally codify DOGE’s spending cuts into law.
The White House has not yet formally sent Congress a rescissions package to do so, which would allow for the cancellation of discretionary spending through a simple majority vote in both houses. “We’re totally committed to making the DOGE cuts permanent … . Most of it’s going to come later. We’re going to have it [codified] by Congress,” Trump said. Musk thanked Trump for his support throughout the industrialist’s time in government and told reporters that DOGE’s work would continue. “This is not the end of DOGE,” he said. “The DOGE influence will only grow stronger … I’m confident that over time, we’ll see … $1 trillion of waste and fraud reduction.”
Asked what he expected his future relationship with Trump would be, Musk told reporters that he expected to remain in communication with the president.“I expect to continue to provide advice, whatever the president would like,” Musk said. Trump quipped in response, “I hope so!” Musk concluded, “I expect to remain a friend and an adviser, and certainly if there’s anything the president wants me to do, I’m at the president’s service.”

Junkies for space!
US billionaire Elon Musk denied that he was on ketamine, responding to relevant allegations.=”I’m not on ketamine,” Musk said in response to US programmer Paul Graham on X, who in turn commented on another user’s post from March 22 with a video of a dinner in which Musk made a figure resembling a spaceship out of forks and spoons. The user wrote above the video that Musk had allegedly been under the influence of ketamine. Paul Graham wrote in response to the post that you don’t need to be under the influence of ketamine to make such a figure.
Musk later made another post on X, in which he criticized a New York Times article that the businessman had allegedly taken drugs when he became one of US President Donald Trump’s closest allies. “I am NOT taking drugs! The New York Times was lying their **s off. I tried *prescription* ketamine a few years ago and said so on X, so this not even news. It helps for getting out of dark mental holes, but haven’t taken it since then,” the entrepreneur said in a separate post. In 2023, the Wall Street Journal published an article claiming that Musk was taking ketamine. In January 2024, the publication reported, citing sources, that Musk continued to use a variety of drugs, especially ketamine, which could have serious consequences not only for his health, but also for the companies under his leadership.
