Not going to consult anyone else on this planet? I know that many Americans, some on TAE, somehow believe that America is the world, but actually, there are people outside America. You would think that the invasion of illegal aliens into the USA would tip off the Americans that there are people outside, but the tip is obviously a little too subtle. The American disease of nihilism, ego and contempt is again going to flood the entire planet and take decades more to repair, as usual. I vainly look forward to the news that reports mushroom clouds over the USA.

Now lets do a little thought experiment. If that is true and we’ll assume so for the sake of this little experiment. How much oil is required by the powers that be to run their militaries and militarized police forces globally? How much longer would that oil supply last if the general public wasn’t using very much or any? Why not shift the general public toward electric everything and remove most of the infrastructure that supports the supply side of oil to the wider public? If over the next decade or so the oil is removed from the greater view than there will be a century? of oil left for the control faction of the PTB. This is paramount to the longevity of the ruling class. Joe public is planning out as far as the next paycheque, .gov is planning out the next quarter with an eye to the next election, bankers are looking ahead a couple of decades and the rulers are thinking the next generation is short term. Saving the biosphere is not part of the overall plan, it’s just a means to an end, our end. Yes a certain number of plebes will be needed to run the infrastructure needed by the controllers to run the system but nowhere the numbers now required. I’ve read somewhere that the oil industry employs about 2 billion people either directly or indirectly. If the domestic side is removed how many of those jobs are gone? Not to mention how many directly involved would become redundant? As the population drops so will the numbers of police and military personnel drop. The numbers for EROEI to keep our industrial civ going are estimated to be somewhere north of 11:1 but if the only industry is to supply the MIC with fuel and the hardware, it would likely reduce that number substantially. Imagine if you will a world more like that of the 1400’s with a bit of electricity tossed in here and there in geographically to support the “factory workers” with those further out living a less than optimal life. This is a long game and we aren’t even at the level of pawns. We tend to assign ourselves a level of importance that does not exist in the minds of the rulers. Never trust a millionaire, a billionaire even less and their offspring…..well!

The blatant extra-legality behind the Gaza ‘kill list’ methodology, as reported by Abraham’s various sources, can only be immunised and sheltered through normalising them as but one amongst a general pattern of illegalities – and in effect, claiming sovereign exceptionalism:

Several recent incidents have increased the pressure on Israel to end its war on Gaza.
There are serious signs that the Israeli government, under pressure from the U.S., is now moving towards an intermediate ceasefire state that all sides may be able to live with – at least for a while. The decision to do that however has split the Netanyahoo government and may well end the coalition which supports it…
..Yesterday Israel withdrew its last but one brigade from Gaza. Many in Israel interpreted this as an admittance of defeat:

Not with a bang, or even a whimper, but with the IDF pulling its ground forces out of Khan Younis, and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant asserting, in defiance of reality, that Hamas has “stopped functioning as a military organization throughout the Gaza Strip,” contradicting himself in the next breath, and clarifying a few hours later?
As Israel on Sunday marked six months since the October 7 massacre, the two prime declared goals of the war — destroying Hamas’s military capabilities and bringing home the remaining 129 hostages abducted that day — are patently unfulfilled...

Call it what you will, but it is a significant climbdown by Israel with much unfinished business, as it were: release of all the hostages; return of residents back home in the south and north; a set-up to administer Gaza Strip where Hamas remains de facto the leadership with massive popular backing. Gen. Halevi put a brave face on the score card, asserting this does not signal the end of war but only, “we’re fighting this war differently … Senior Hamas officials are still in hiding. We will get to them sooner or later… We have plans and we will act when we decide.”
This unceremonious end to the war after six months is almost certainly linked to the reported progress in the negotiations over the release of hostages. It is also not as if the score card is empty.
The Damascus strike is a severe blow to the Quds Force of Iran’s IRGC at the operational level in both Iraq and Syria. Tehran has a noble tradition of eyeing martyrdom as the ultimate victory for its generals. Indeed, Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi didn’t attain martyrdom in vain.
As for Israel, well, it has bought time. On the other hand, no matter what Gen. Halevi says about living to fight another day, there is the bigger picture, in which a truce-hostage deal is finally taking shape, which creates an entirely new dynamic all around — most significantly, in the domestic politics that would generate new tidings. Israel is traditionally quick to adapt to alien circumstances. For the second time, Israel is retrenching from Gaza but this time with its international standing as the Middle East’s cats whiskers irreparably damaged. That creates an imperative need to change. What emerges is that Israel can no longer take for granted unconditional, seamless American support.
Quintessentially, Hamas’ victory is Iran’s sweet revenge, too. It makes an Iranian retaliation against Damascus attack somewhat redundant, in a manner of speaking. The prominent Israeli commentator David Horowitz wrote with biting sarcasm, “Is this how the war ends? Not with a bang, or even a whimper…” But if an inconclusive war can still produce peace as its outcome, it must be welcomed.
The biggest winner is going to be Biden. Unlike Barack Obama, he worked to earn it. All the guile and doublespeak in his tool kit as a politician has been in full display. He held on steadfast despite all round criticism for doing nothing, whereas, he had set a goal for himself and was clear-headed about his objective. In recent days, international news in the West has been dominated by the Gaza conflict. We have heard how Biden came close to condemning Israeli atrocities and failed military operations in Gaza. We have heard about the Israeli withdrawal from Southern Gaza, which is interpreted either as a concession to the ‘or else’ threats coming out of Washington or as a prelude to the long announced attack on Rafah, depending on whom you want to believe.
However, in Russia the international and domestic news remains focused on the Ukraine conflict. Day after day, Russian state television provides not only statistics on destroyed Ukrainian planes, tanks, Himars and other rocket artillery units as well as headcounts of the killed and maimed enemy forces, but also relevant video coverage of these successes…
