Duration of life is overrated. Living to a ripe old age is difficult, usually painful, and builds a fortune of regrets and repentances (not all of them failed). Quality of life is massively hyped, mostly as a means to sell junk products including political candidates, but in reality is way below even sub-standards. Modern life plain sucks, period. Reality is grand and fantastically meaningful and rewarding if often risky, but this world we sit and type in, it sucks. I know: I have been inside a minivan with several kids for many hours. Trut me. 😉

Reality is, despite all this, quite readily available. JUst step off the smooth narrative track and rediscover your life’s legs… well, that’s how I do it. 🙂

Vaccines are somewhat effective at this, but:
    – There are immediate side effects
    – Long term effects are unknown
    – ADE might happen
    – Non sterilizing antibodies allow mutations
    – Existing vaccines might not handle mutations
    – Additional jabs will be needed with unknown effects

“The emergency use authorizations for the vaccines now administered in the U.S. were based on just two months of follow-up data — enough to be confident that the vaccines are safe, effective, and fit for use in response to a pressing need,“

    Bullshit.

The problem the FDA is having with their messaging is that they lied.
Nope, never in a million years is 2 months of follow up data on a *new vaccine*; using a *new technology*, against a corona virus, a subset of viruses for which we’ve never before developed a successful vaccine, going to be enough time to determine the safety nor effectiveness of said vaccine.

If the FDA were honest with their EUAs the messaging would have been thus:
“According to preliminary trials with two months of data, the vaccines appear to be largely safe for about 3 months in healthy people who have not had Covid. The vaccines appear to diminish symptoms for those infected, at least for the first couple of months after becoming “fully vaccinated.” Considering that some individuals may be in a high risk category, this preliminary data may be a compelling reason to get the vaccine. Please discuss whether the vaccine is right for you with your doctor.”

If this had been the messaging up front, then no one would be wondering why full approval takes longer. Of course, half the US population wouldn’t now be fully vaccinated.

Following the collapse of the Soviet Union to a T. While distracting everyone with the scary with little death “Delta” variant.

“In a letter to House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other congressional leaders, Yellen said she was suspending investments in the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund and the Postal Service Retiree Health Benefits Fund that are not immediately required to pay beneficiaries.

A two-year suspension of the federal debt limit expired on Saturday, reinstating the cap at the current debt level of about $28.5 trillion.”

And then these action certainly beg the question, “Why were only those two payments suspended”? Do they feel they won’t need a large payout in the near future with special thanks to the Vax, knowing many will die? Or do they just default on those payments entirely?

John Day, I believe, told us awhile back how the Postal Service was saddled with an impossibly leveraged pension plan capable of financially ruining it, fwiw. It’s possible that Ms. Pelosi considered dieoff of, say, the disability demographic in her considerations, but I find it hard to believe she based her decision on this alone. For all I know, she deludedly thinks this will swing some votes from the right.

If one removes, from the imaginary scenario, the idea that Pelosi and her ilk have a cogent plan for the consequences of their actions, their actions make more sense, I feel, for what they most resemble to me are desperate acts of the congenitally clueless.

It’s not like she can stop military pork or welfare. Maybe she’s running out of places to strip without getting major flak for it. Maybe she closed her eyes and pinned a choice blindly with her finger.

We make a zillion assumptions about people whose lives and careers aare mostly hidden from us, and what is revealed come through a magic smoke screen.

There are numerous Catholic buildings housing priests known to have violated countless children. Everybody knows this. We are a nation of guns, it is said. This is to protect us from tyranny and each other.

I have never heard of a militia commandeering a seminary and dispensing justice to these maladjusted doers of destruction. Haven’t even heard of a lone nut gun incident. I do recall the burning alive of parents and children in a place called Waco. Closest thing to an insurrection was a comedy review in the Capital last January 6th.

The concept of direct action, peacefully or violently, but especially violently, has been so far removed from our sense of what is voluntarily possible that putting actual manacles on us would be liberating: we might at least recognise our abandonment of personal autonomy in exchange for Authority of the Group.

I of course include myself in the “we”s above.

Just a wee bit of direct action, both singly and in group concert, would change things so fast your head would turn a revolution/counter-revolution: a double-take.

But we are silly beasts. Told not to eat the Forbidden Fruit, we plunge right in. Given a means to govern ourselves (Constitution ain’t half bad a format, you know), we quickly file politics under Boring except when prodded. (“Get out the vote!!!”)

Not that I’m advising anyone to tilt at those windmills with an assault popgun. Certainly not urging this at all. Nor am I urging anyone not to. I’m urging people to stand in the place where they live, qeueue the R>E>M tune in your head while I sneak in a brilliant vocalist doing an old chestnut:

“ Postal Service was saddled with an impossibly leveraged pension plan capable of financially ruining it, fwiw”

Postal Service was suddenly required to pre-fund 75 years of future retirees medical benefits. They were given 10 years to do it.
    https://about.usps.com/who-we-are/financials/annual-reports/fy2010/ar2010_4_002.htm

Many suspect this plan was designed to bankrupt the postal service.

I always figured it was so the government in the future could tap those funds — I’m sure the federal government doesn’t actually intend for the future retirees to access those funds….

I’m so used to viewing “them” through negativelt biased lenses that the idea of them doing something at least somewhat logica*l and relatively benign, never even occurred to me. That, me thinks, could be part of our answer for Why the huge vaxz push? Are they that stupid or that evi? questions.

I think the Archduke of Austria was assassinated, metaphorically speaking, again in summer/fall when, evidence strongly suggests, China/Euromerican espioanage agents caught each other doing the same thing over a very short time frame. WWIII began, as many others have said, at that point. I thoink maybe I see the cocking mechanism for that trigger?

The contradictions are piling on to one another. Microsoft and Tyson Foods requiring its employees to be jabbed does nothing to help public health. There will be transmission of the variants in the workspaces unless masking & social distancing is practiced to hinder it somewhat. Upgrading ventilation filtration, isolating workstations, UV air disinfecting, sunshine breaks, and opening windows would help more. OSHA has been prevented from implementing coronavirus work safety measures. “Profits over lives”. At best, the mandates may keep their employees and guests alive after being infected, but this has yet to be proven. This is more pandemic theatre and magical thinking that has dominated in the West since January 2020.

@MC: The spoofing of UK ships near the Russian prt was probably a thing, but the day the bombs were dropped in front of one of them by a pilot in a plane, the ship was really there, and there was a photographer on the deck.
Interesting insight, or maybe just made-up, but still thought-provoking, about Jesus advising the apostles (I believe that’s who he was addressing) to turn the other cheek. He did expect a lot of them…

“Australians getting ready to overthrow tyrannical government” ? Ha ha, glad this is satire.

But I don’t like the idea that because we have “given up” our guns, then we have gone into captivity. Most people here don’t want a gun culture; this is our cultural choice and should be respected. Outsiders criticise us for being subservient and not independent enough. Not at all: we are a surprisingly patient and enduring lot, willing to put up with a certain level of abuses and insults for a better outcome.

Only time will tell which cultural choice is the better of a bad lot.
