Iirc. Trenin used to be quite pro-West, or pro-Peace / negotiation, compromise, etc. He only recently swerved to a more ‘realist’ stance. Putin is also becoming seriously pissed off, and recently declared that France is amongst the first of non-friendly nations (my words not his), putting it ahead of Germany. Details don’t matter…
Fellow European powers like Britain, France, and Germany must be made to understand they are vulnerable. Their capitals are not immune. The same message should reach Finland, Poland, and the Baltics. Provocations must be met swiftly and decisively.
