I don’t know. He used to seem ok, but his blind spot is huge now.Frankly, my head has been spinning the past couple of weeks as I try to make sense of world events. It’s getting to the point where I’m wondering if there isn’t something more productive I could be doing with my time. Yet, each day I continue to subject myself to the psychological abuse of internet media sources hoping to gain some clarity. So, I’ll weigh in on the conversation with a few of my own thoughts:
“Short term pain for long term gain” sounds suspiciously like “2 weeks to flatten the curve”. I don’t trust any of this focus-group-tested, simple-minded, jargon, catch phrase, sloganized bullshit!
I too have been disappointed with Kunstler lately, and wonder what mental gymnastics are going on in that brain of his that enables him to reshape events so that Israeli evil is perceived as good? His latest missives read like the toddler that tries to force the toy triangle block into the round hole.
I’m not pleased with how the Iran war started with decapitation strikes during negotiations. This looks very bad from the moral high ground perspective. Like you, I don’t have a TS clearance, so don’t know much about the “true” geopolitical motivations; however, the way administration mouthpieces have been all over the board lately I can’t help feeling that Trump’s advisors promised him an easy victory to brag about for the midterms – that oppressed Iranians would rise up like the Iraqis were supposed to do and install a new western friendly government. We all know how that turned out.

This would be truly foolish, as there are plenty of military and financial targets in Iran’s backyard. “Why did Iran put its country so close to all our military bases?” One’s that would be painful, yet not galvanize western populations, like say bombing a girl’s school or sinking an aircraft carrier. From my perspective Iran seems to be in the driver seat both militarily and morally, picking their targets intelligently and not lashing out willy nilly as reported in the legacy media. The situation seems ripe for some domestic false flag attacks that are needed to increase wavering public support and help justify the west’s naked aggression.
I understand the backstory that Krainer and Luongo espouse, about dismantling the old British Empire and starving its financial backers, while working with Russia tacitly to free colonized nations from their grip. I sure hope they are right.
I still hold to the belief that there is a supra-national entity that is running the show, at least for western nations. How else can one explain European leaders purposely destroying their own countries, cultures, and economies by every possible means with popularity in the single digits? Fighting the popular will at every turn, deceiving the public with lies and propaganda, while squashing any dissent? To me it’s all done intentionally and not due to some ill-conceived eco-policy.

I even bought a couple of Kunstler’s fictional novels back in the day, and enjoyed them, too, but now it seems that he has chosen the path of least resistance and that slope gets slicker and slipperier the farther down that slope he goes.
I suspect that he reads TAE from time to time (or at least used to do when TAE content was more aligned to his world view.) I bet he doesn’t come here very often now though!
