They’re now going to use the army to enforce “mandates”

Virus not as bad as we told= stricter rules and using the army for enforcement (at least in spain)

Will they try it here? Perhaps in November?

    Imagine
You’re extremely rich so you can buy the best advice. Your capital is mobile, and so are you. You can live anywhere and shift your capital anywhere.

Your advisors have noted an increase in media chatter on inequality, for example: The Bill for America’s $50 Trillion Gluttony of Inequality Is Overdue, and they’re busy preparing plans to weather the storm and preserve your fortune come what may.

Yep they’re just manufacturing those videos of him being out of breath just from walking up to a podium. Or the fact that he said by the time he was finished speaking 200 million americans would be dead due to covid.

Biden needs no help from Russia. When SNL announced then hat Jim Carrey would play Joe Biden on the show, someone tweeted: There’s nothing funnier than Joe Biden playing Joe Biden.

Since we live for “Appeal to Authority”: Scientist. Respiratory disease research head. Expert in medical statistics:

    90% COVID false positive rate.

Read it if you have the scientific and medical head for it:

Lies, Damned Lies and Health Statistics – the Deadly Danger of False Positives

Oh, and as any idiot could tell, since we claim to have more “cases” but have near-zero deaths for months.

NY Time “1619” Project. “The “paper of record” has also taken to quietly altering the published text of the project itself after one of its claims came under intense criticism.” –Quillette

So let me get this right: in a mere six months, the project to re-write history has already re-written their own history? That does not surprise me at all.

Two problems: One – the one argued by Black historians and also every other historian – is that the America was NOT settled on slavery, nor founded on nor to protect slavery. Mostly the opposite, as is usual with this agenda-driven, history-rewriting crowd. Because: Socialists. For example, they claim the Revolution was fought and the government was founded to protect slavery. …A slavery Britain legally approved of (duh, we were Britain) but wasn’t going to erase themselves for like 40 more years. So it’s as if Kennedy positioned his troops knowing we would fight the Gulf war? What are you smoking? But two, Europeans did not ‘bring’ slavery to America, slavery was endemic to the Native Americans, and many tribes practiced it widely, along with torture and land theft. So couldn’t you argue that they were just “Doing as the Romans” and following the social practices like good guests to the continent’s rightful and existing rulers, you know, following the traditional ways of “Mother Earth” and “Living with the Land”? Hey wait: weren’t they also just following the (Muslim) laws of Africa and the African kingdoms that sold their countrymen to foreigners? Of course not, that’s a dumb argument, but it illustrates how equally idiotic their similar argument is. Men are men. History is complicated. Put down the comic book and read it sometime. Surely someone at Yale or Columbia is literate.

“In 1772, a judge sitting in the High Court in London declared slavery “so odious” that it could not exist at common law and set the conditions which would consequently result in the freedom of the 15,000 slaves living in England. This decision eventually reached America and terrified slaveholders in the collection of British colonies, subject to British law. The predominantly southern slave-owners feared that this decision would cause the emancipation of their slaves. It did result in some slaves freeing themselves.

To ensure the preservation of slavery, the southern colonies joined the northerners in their fight for “freedom” and their rebellion against England. In 1774, at the First Continental Congress John Adams promised southern leaders to support their right to maintain slavery. As Eleanor Holmes Norton explains in her introduction, “The price of freedom from England was bondage for African slaves in America. America would be a slave nation.”

Thomas Jefferson relied on this understanding when carefully crafting the stirring word”

To repeat, my thinking on Covid lockdowns is that they do their own brand of harm to the economy and to individual people, and they’re not effective at stopping Covid on account of the virus being so very airborne-contagious with such a long asymptomatic incubation period. In this world where people move around as much as they do, how do you stop Covid from reasserting itself once the lockdown ends? And considering the detrimental effects of lockdowns, they do have to end at some defined point. Lockdowns should only be used in cities/ counties where the hospital system is in imminent danger of being overwhelmed by real cases.

I think Tim Conway’s “old man” character from “The Carol Burnett Show” would have been a hilarious Joe Biden, but unfortunately, Mr. Conway died right around the time Joe Biden formally entered the presidential race.

I’ve had zero deaths for 569 months. I’m still going to die. Not sure what near-zero means. Ten zillion is more near zero than ten gazillion. One is the loneliest number.

    !@#

“In this world where people move around as much as they do, how do you stop Covid from reasserting itself once the lockdown ends?”

While everyone believes China’s covid stats are at least a little bit BS, it is obvious that they’ve achieved something like this. Consistent messaging from central authority, major enforced lockdowns, and testing testing testing seem to be why this is so.

What’s in it for me? Is the primary force/driver for all that Donald Trump says and does. Will his never-ending lust for undoing everything Obama come back to bite him on the Assange front?

“After she put the link to the interview into the group chat, Ms Fairbanks’ statement says that she received a phone call from Mr Schwartz who was “very angry”: “[Mr Schwartz] repeatedly insisted that I stop advocating for WikiLeaks and Assange, telling me that ‘a pardon isn’t going to f**king happen.’ He knew very specific details about a future prosecution against Assange that were later made public and that only those very close to the situation then would have been aware of.”

I am not sure how/when/where/why the whole “gender reveal” movement came from. It is real as I have endured several in my own family. Did you know that one of California’s recent “wild” fires was started by fireworks used at a gender reveal party?

Anyway, thanks for the laugh on the SCOTUS reveal.

I don’t even know what it is. Pretty solidly sure I have yet to see the first Greek gender reveal party. Not that it might not be a good one.

#1 Rule of Politics: humans cannot manage their own affairs so they attempt to manage those of others. Once upon a time, there were places where humans capable of self-management could go to get away from the managing horde. Not any more.

    See Saw

“Gender reveal” is liberal backlash. Conservatives fought against gay rights. They lost. Now that liberals dominate the issue, they respond in kind. They don’t know what they’re doing any more than the conservatives did, and plain old queers will get double-shafted in the end. Not as much fun as it may sound to some of us.

    Sit and Spin

If you look closely at the seesaw, it’s a variation on sit’n’spin. Not to be confused with sin’n’spit although there is ample overlap.

@ RIM: My guess is that gender reveal is a popular fad here in the US, and it is most attractive to young people who post their lives online.

    @Madamski
: “Gender reveal” is liberal backlash”. Has it really come to that? It seems that gender reveals started out of a desire to generate attention/create an event/attract followers. Party marketers roared into action and a NEW industry was created. WINNING! The waves of non celebrity trend followers (like my 3 nieces, all in their 30’s) jumped in – gender reveal parties are now a regular pre-baby shower event.

Anyway, The Babylon Bee author/writer nailed it.

The stuff you mentioned follows. By the time a thing becomes a cause celbre, the war the cause is supposed to win is already over. It becomes another fad. Fads grow unconmmonly large during times of desparir and collapse. Politicians exploit them because politics is the art of exploitation.

But it’s my bad: I thought that “gender reveal” referred to teens/young adults declaring their chosen gender identity regardless of their body genetics. Wonky enough, but it gets worse. “Baby showers, a traditional prenatal celebration, have some key differences with gender-reveal parties. Primarily, the focus on gender-reveal parties is fetal sex,…” (from the wiki on gender reveal party). Fetal sex? Are these Satanists or something? 😉

Jeffrey Epstein rolls over in his grave.

News is better mis-interpreted these days. 😉 The real thing makes no sense any more.
