I found the best way when there are two words is to place a – in between the words.
Such as @Doc-RobinsonOutbreak was likely spread from a vaccinated player. If it was unvaxxed, the NFL would have called a forfeit.
Actually caring about player safety would mean delaying the game with this continuing at the rate it is….

It seems amazingly tragic that so few actually see the evidence existing in these charts. The futility of trying to “do something” by governments in response to citizen outcries must be terribly frustrating. But looking at ourselves, how did we devolve from independent selves into children to of the government? Watching so many give up freedom in exchange for security in spite of really knowing in their hearts that government can’t provide security. Our collective dismissal of a spiritual higher power (call it the universe, if you must) has given government a role impossible to fill. (pinched from the comments section)

Reading between the lines, Chris Whitty said in his quote above, that Omicron may be less severe in South Africa due to their natural immunity and the UK’s vaccinated immunity is unlikely to be as resilient.

It leaves out how many have died FROM Omicron, mentioning only “excess deaths” and a lot of asymptomatic cases in hospital for other things, diagnosed by routine screening tests, and not needing oxygen. It looks cheerier than it is painted. One mysterious “death with Omicron” reported by Boris Johnson at a UK press conference Monday appears to be the grand total. I’d call it “unconfirmed at present”.)
Only 1.7% of identified COVID cases were admitted to the hospital in the second week of infections in the fourth wave, according to local data.
That’s compared with 19% in the same week of the third delta-driven wave, South African Health Minister Joe Phaahla said at a press conference…
Still, new cases in that week of the current wave were more than 20K a day, compared with 4.4K in the same week of the third wave. That’s further evidence of omicron’s rapid transmissibility, which a number of other countries, such as the UK are also now experiencing…
There are a few key differentiators that make South Africa different from other countries: The country’s population is young compared with developed nations. What’s more, between 70% and 80% of citizens may also have had a prior COVID infection, according to antibody surveys, meaning they could have some level of protection.
Currently there are about 7.6K people infected with COVID in South African hospitals, about 40% of the peak in the second and third waves. Excess deaths, a measure of the number of deaths against a historical average, are just below 2K a week, an eighth of their previous peak.
“We are really seeing very small increases in the number of deaths,” said Michelle Groome, head of health surveillance for the country’s National Institute for Communicable Diseases.
The number of COVID hospitalizations in this wave is also being inflated by the fact that milder patients are being admitted because there is room to accommodate them. Many are there for other complaints but are routinely tested for the pathogen, according to health officials.
“We have seen a decrease in a proportion of people who need to be on oxygen. They are at very low levels,” said Waasila Jassat, a researcher with the NICD.

NATO countries have been gearing up for a European war in Ukraine, against Russia, which would benefit none of the involved parties.
Historically, such real-wars serve to enforce social cohesion, which can be expected to evaporate in the upcoming financial/economic crisis, especially in EU countries, but also in the US.
This is brinksmanship, and Russian national security is directly at stake.
Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke recently, for the first time of Chinese “allies”. There is not yet a known mutual defense pact between Russia and China. Such a compact would probably include Russian interests regarding Ukrainian demilitarization, and also the Taiwan Straits, though Russia would hardly sign on to a voluntary Chinese invasion of Taiwan (IMHO).
Russia has presented a list of security demands, not negotiating points.
Russia has natural gas, and is honoring all contracts, but is not selling into the EU spot market this winter, which is getting cold.
Approving and opening Nordstream-2 is the answer to that, but what other inducements to reason does Russia have for NATO, especially for the Americans?
This needs to be taken a lot more seriously than western politicians are taking it.
