February 10, 2022 at 7:04 pm #100637RedParticipantNew York Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli commented: “To protect the state pension fund, we are restricting investments in companies that we believe are unprepared to adapt to a low-carbon future.”
Or all but a couple have yet to produce a profit. Cut and run. No profit at $100/per barrel either because of lost sales at that nose bleed level.

“Hey- look! People are getting sick! I hope they lock us all indoors, torture kids and granfolks, and make us take poison! It’s what we did last time- it’s the normal thing to do.”Bosco, did you like the picture of the center of the galaxy?
February 10, 2022 at 7:10 pm #100640thomasjkenneyParticipantRE: trucks
If the kettle brigades show up, everybody should just run away. The tow trucks have already refused. They’ll have to call the military, and trust that the CO they contact can make his/her folks carry out the orders in a timely fashion. Meanwhile, regroup. Use that war chest to pay some other faction to slow down or strike. If money is what’s corrupting folks that should be on our side, give them the money and corrupt them in a useful direction. We don’t have to be friends with them, just use them as they seem to desire.
With that kinda dosh, buy up stock in a noxious media company and try to change it.
Important here is the off-balance adversary. Don’t wait for a recovery. Use KV-2 tactics: retreat and reappear from a fresh angle…KABOOM!!!!
RE: kettle with no cell service
Again, war chest. Buy satellite phones and send ‘photo snipers’ in, some inside, some following the kettle brigades, from a discrete distance.
I’m already seeing some hopeful things in this. Mainly, the decentralization is brilliant. The trogs can’t decapitate a headless movement. Their futile attempt to paste a ‘head’ on the rider is driving Streisand Effect writ large.

February 10, 2022 at 7:38 pm #100642ctbarnumParticipantI love the parting shot here:
25. But it's those brave truckers on the Ambassador Bridge who put a fright into Biden and Psaki. In 1812, the last time Canada invaded the U.S., they sacked the place and burned down the White House. Psaki doesn't know her history but Biden is old enough to have been there.

February 10, 2022 at 7:51 pm #100644boscohorowitzParticipant“Bosco- a process by which things that aren’t acceptable become accepted: that kind of normalization.
“Hey- look! People are getting sick! I hope they lock us all indoors, torture kids and granfolks, and make us take poison! It’s what we did last time- it’s the normal thing to do.””But along with the normalization is fatigue and growing cognitive dissonance. People barely tolerated this round of phony quarantine. Just cuz someone gets away with shit for awhile doesn’t mean the public grows to tolerate the smell.
I fear it’s the reverse: should a REAL plague occur that needs REAL quarantine measures, the people will balk. If ironic symmetry holds true, the biggest balkers will be today’s most ardent pro-vaxers.
I remember when only hippies and leftist’s talked about fundamental rights via the Constitution et al. 20 years later, only conservatives and jarheads talked that way. Round and round… but never back to the place of origin., and the greater the centrifugal motion, the less likely a reversion close to the norm.

“I’m already seeing some hopeful things in this. Mainly, the decentralization is brilliant. The trogs can’t decapitate a headless movement. Their futile attempt to paste a ‘head’ on the rider is driving Streisand Effect writ large.”
At this point, many people think opposition is some kind of designer thing one chooses off the rack. One fights with the army one has, as the saying goes. If this movement has a bigoted jarhead stealing some of its colors, that means it’s big enough to be a movement, and if it’s moving things in a better direction, worth supporting.
If a person wants some reasonably organized peaceful but determined resistence movement, this truck things seems to be it.
But don’t worry about getting involved. I’m sure a resistance movement that better matches one’s ideological outfit will come along soon.
So the guy who rescues your wife from a savage rape is a 5-star asshole. At least your wife is safe.

February 10, 2022 at 8:22 pm #100647Bill7ParticipantMatt Taibbi on the Trucker Protests:
“..Trudeau fled the city, removing his family to what aides called a “secret location” for “security reasons,” a politically disastrous move denounced by just about everyone with a microphone or a Twitter account, including members of his own party. Liberal MP Joël Lightbound took things a step further. He ripped Trudeau’s politics as divisive, saying his government needs to recognize people have “legitimate concerns” while adding, acidly, >>“Not everyone can earn a living on a MacBook at a cottage.” This has been a theme in the States, too, where the people most dickishly insistent on the necessity of lockdowns or mandates have tended to be Zoomer professionals spending the pandemic in pajamas.”

you’ll see in videos that their are very many romanians protesting in ottawa right now.
February 10, 2022 at 9:02 pm #100653Bill7ParticipantAdding: I don’t think this is *anything like* a “Ceausescu Moment” for Freeland/Trudeau, as Taibbi seems to be claiming.
They have heavy-duty backers.. I did like what that one MP quoted said about the Laptop Class though, and a bit of

My favorite us of the n-word is when Richard Pryor shouts: NIGGAH NIGGAH NIGAH and brings the house down.
I very much like and respect Rogan. So does a buttload of under-30s . The fact that he happens to be truthful is the main reason, along with his comedic charm.

I think this is worth repetition:

Maybe that online person mentioned above will explain it all to us in two thousand or more words.

Everybody here should have watched Michael Moore’s Planet of the Humans, released almost a year ago. Yes, Michael Moore is a left wing sometimes-nut, but this documentary shows, in typical Michael Moore style, how corporates are destroying the world and that the left and right wings basically see green tech in the same light but can do nothing to fix the problem.
After watching the documentary it will become evident how and why the Covid scam fits into the whole rape of the planet by the oligarchs.

February 10, 2022 at 11:17 pm #100667Bill7ParticipantAnother good comment from that other site:
“However I’m not a Canadian and just as Kiev is none of my business neither is Ottawa. However I will take exception to the broad brush freedom=libertarians=sociopaths. Fauci and his wrecking crew are exactly what freedom is about. If libertarians are the only ones challenging arbitrary power then bring it on. ”
Thanks for that comment there, Carolinian. So much pointedly broad-brush ( ) dismissal going on these days..

February 10, 2022 at 11:44 pm #100669Bill7ParticipantIt looks to me like the Ruling Class really, really want there to be a fight; and it’s shaping up (their shaping and forming) as the “llbertarians” (those in favor of free speech, bodily autonomy, and civil rights in general) versus the Authoritarians, via their unctuous, relatively comfortable, very wordy, civil-rights destroying PMC lackeys.
I’m not looking for a fight, myself.

My guess is that Ms. Ball just lost a huge chunk of her audience with that Twit.
You dummies didn’t watch the clip in the tweet. Obviously.
You right-wing, anti-vax dopes latch on to any messenger that says things that tickle your bias. In this case, you think Joe Rogan is on your “team” because he started taking heat for having on your quacky heroes.
Apparently, Krystal Ball’s irony escaped you geniuses. Just like I figured it would.
I can already hear your gears churning when you realize that Joe Rogan is one of those “libtards” you claim anyone is who has a conscience.
