Charles Hugh Smith yesterday has captured my interest with: “There are no winners in this domino-like destabilization of the global economy except the U.S.”

I like your friend Varoufakis- very much indeed. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-31055069

He seems to have all the tools he needs to cope with where he finds himself. One of which is sheer guts. Tell him we’re pulling for him. 🙂

    sevenleagueboots,

Charles hasn’t been too strong lately, but that one sentence is certainly true, though in the end the US can’t win either.

Alexis Tsipras – “Nationalization of banks.” Yikes! We know what happens to those who even hint at nationalizing oil or banks. I hope he is successful. I’m rooting for him.

“Animals In France Finally Recognised As ‘Living, Sentient Beings’”

This article brought to mind the fact that in the Middle Ages, in France, animals could be put on trial for committing sins. If a male animal mounted another male, it could lead to a court case and the animal could be put to death for sodomy. For less serious crimes, the animal could be flogged and so on.

I guess it is back to the future.
