    Level of stupid: Expert level.

“MI6 Chief Faces Backlash for Saying Ukraine War Is about LGBT Rights”

In oppositeland, and why I’m not commenting on matters right now: https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/rabobank-if-putin-has-lost-so-have-markets

War is over! So there. Everything Ukr does is awesome and brave, everything Russians do is a stupid failure. Er…check yourself? That’s not true of anybody, anywhere. Just liked to read it though, as an alternate view.

How do we know this, Mr. Rabo Bank? “Russia is no longer wanted in the FIFA football World Cup,”

Well in THAT case, hold the phone! The West. Ugh.

But the worst line of all: “Moreover, as the West gets back into the frame of mind for defense, decoupling, sacrifice, and self-reliance for its values, will it really end with Russia…?” Sacrifice things? Values? Hahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! No.

Strangely, I hear Tim Pool among others to discuss Russia’s financial crunch and under pressure, unable to take Kiev. Are you kidding me boys? Not like since the first day in East Germany Russia understood they’d been double crossed and there was no chance of anyone, much less London, ever keeping a single word of any promise ever. London are the ones who stole Tsar ROmanov’s leased gold, then put it on a train with some NYers (Lenin and Trotsky) to then overthrow and murder Tsar and his baby children in the snow. So they’ve thought about this. As this clearly approached, much less since Obama’s funding armed Nazis and paying snipers to shoot civilians and policemen alike, which being TOTALLY ILLEGAL Russia could have stopped right then. Then with Minsk they clearly had zero expectation of it being upheld, just trying to be polite, and were completely correct. So how long? 8 years watching Ukraine ethnically cleanse their own people at 10,000 casualties, all approved heartily by NATO and the UN? How many plans then? What were they running strategies, scenarios, created new scalar weapons, drone torpedos, hypersonics.

And then since this latest foray: it’s a coincidence it’s with Biden? It’s coincidence when the economy has cracked? It’s a coincidence it’s after Evergrande has China telling Europe to take a hike, honkey? And when the West still won’t crack, as this is do or die for the West? And then people like this say, “Putin didn’t expect…” Didn’t expect what? What, exactly? The West, dying of hubris, couldn’t be more predictable. They have done and are doing exactly ordinary, predictable things, because they are minions, incapable of thought or creation. How many scenarios over how many years on how many Russian supercomputers do you think was put on this?

Thousands. Tens of thousands. News, pundits: “Putin is a madman, he didn’t think!” No one in Russia ever thought of confiscated assets, oligarchs, or bank runs. Nope! …Cause they think Russia does s—-y work, absent of all thought or reason like we do in the West. They think Russian intel are like our latte-sipping, pajama-wearing PMC class that haven’t won anything or had a good idea since Nixon.

No, Russia is tiny, vulnerable, and in mortal peril – perhaps the last chapter for Russia, ever. Russia waited everything. Prepared everything. Every underground shelter in Moscow is full. Every weapon is ready, every scenario run. Every general knows what’s at stake. And they still might not win, that’s why only 30% of forces and playing chess. Europe needs to steal and kill everything and everyone in Russia. They will be happy to slow it down and create an army themselves, 8 years from now like Donbass was.

No, Putin isn’t surprised. He’s grim. Like I am and for the same reasons. And the same reason the U.S. “resistance” has moved interminably slow, stopping everywhere with every investigator. Because you have one and ONLY ONE chance to win. The alternative is too awful to contemplate. TINA. A boot stomping on the human face, forever.

How grave, end-of-the-world, is it? Switzerland is no longer neutral, nor are their accounts, and they have thrown in on what I expect is the losing side (predictable), against Russia. Just so more people can get killed.

“”Looting Results in Shooting on the Spot,” Two Ukrainian Mayors Warn”

But looting is the voice of the oppressed! Looting is speech. And stopping looting is ‘violence’. We bail out all looters and attempted assassins of Mayors, even when they are Democrats. Who? The VP for god’s sake! Proudly, on TV and reported. This after rounding up black children in her district, putting them in a chain gang, and refusing to release despite orders from a judge. Kids: prison. Murderers: release at any cost. And give them free guns if you’re Zelensky!

Speaking of how Ukraine is/isn’t like/not like the United States where our principles exist/don’t exist there, the U.S. is defending the national border to the death – in Europe. And cares SO MUCH about who crosses it and what they do – there. But I thought no people were illegal, Joe! Therefore when Mexican Zeta or MS-13 cross the border with guns, that was happiness. We don’t stop them or even check. So when other citizens of other nations cross borders with guns 10,000 miles way, it’s bad now? And walls work? — And sadly yesterday’s polls of Democrats say they want to secure Ukraine’s border at like 40%, but not our border, at like 30%. I say hand them a rifle and let them. It’s a free country. Then they can defend a country that traffics kids in cages, arms Nazi battalions and pays for racist ethnic cleansing of their own civilians for 8 years. Racism, guns, cages, neo-Nazis, what’s not to support?

But it gets worse. Biden is sending our few remaining border agents there. Because we don’t believe in borders. Except where we do. Which is for other countries. But not ours. Because walls work, but not for us. And stopping people from crossing is hate except when it’s love.

“Still, he gave no sign by word or deed that he contemplated using coercive means to restore the integration of Russian and Ukraine”

Propaganda is working wonderfully, with 10+ years of making s—t up about RussiaRussiaRussia, lyinglyinglying, they move the post of reality right off the field and out of the stadium. To anyone who’s read any history back to Bush and nation-bombing Clinton, read speeches from anyone in Russia, all the Russian pundits like Orlov or the Saker, the recent attempt at negotiations even Biden said were vital, the buildup of troops (deed), and then part two of this very short sentence, all lies. We have no idea if Putin wants to integrate Ukraine and Russia or if in fact he wants to withdraw ASAP and not be bled there. Which is the other problem reading like Victor Davis Hanson (ugh); EVERYONE in the West, even smart people, think “I know exactly what Putin is thinking, in his mind. This just in: I’m telepathic!” This applies apparently only to Putin and Trump, not say, POC where “we can never know their lived experience” (therefore believe everything they tell you and don’t try). So we’re all telepathic – to Russian dictators no less – and this is today’s sooper-schmartz. OMG can we just lose and get it over already? I can’t take the stupid.

Nope. Everybody knows what Putin is doing, clearly having never read a single word of any speech, of any Russian leader, in 10 or 20 years.

“The “empire of lies” term was coined by Russia’s president last Thursday,”

Which is a lie. And he SAYS this is lie in the next sentence, when he quotes Putin “everyone in America has been saying this for years” Is that debunking? Is telling a lie and its opposite in the same sentence “disinformation”? Asking for a friend named “Tony”.

Zelensky demands immediate no-fly zone, instant WWIII and within days, a worldwide nuclear – or other – exchange. Uh-huh. Then also people like Hanson say it’s sooper-awesomesauce that NATO can now flood the Western border with non-stop weapons…and this doesn’t cost anything, apparently? (He’s from CA and therefore math-impaired) And nothing will happen, I guess? Russia won’t do anything about it but sit there and get shot, like movie villains? Pew-Pew. JC I can’t take it. Oh and naturally “we’re” winning. What? Wait! Who is this “We” stuff? We are in Ukraine? We picked sides? We don’t even know where Ukraine is or what it looks like. “We’re” winning because of the Ghost of Kiev and mine-sweeper man, and all our postings on TikTok.

“Freeland Caught Holding Pro-Nazi Banner At Ukraine Protest (TNC)”

The irony is Freeland has an “I love Putin, adored him in articles and helped get him installed” banner in the other hand. So…which banner do you want to sell to the Canadian people, missy? History has you pro-Putin AND pro-Nazi. Not just in Ukr, but in Ottawa as well. Good look.

“In the early 2000s, Colin Campbell proposed that the peak of “conventional” oil production would come around 2012. It probably did,”

Except for Russia, Iran, Cuba, Yemen, and probably a bunch of other places like the arctic, the left and right coasts of America, sub-30,000 ft in the Gulf, 40,000ft off Brazil, and other places. But other than that, we’re all out of oil.

Speaking of who has OUR oil, coincidentally three of those oil-remaining locations are under attack, one more or less directly this minute. How about this: we shouldn’t change our ways because there’s no oil, because there are decades or a century of oil remaining. We should do it to stop wars and preserve “the environment”, that is, life on earth. Love of the humans and the non-humans who are just as alive as we.

I don’t know about Doctors and crimes against humanity. Clearly there’s something to the argument, you can’t know what you don’t know. However, they worked VERY hard not to know and shouted down everyone, everywhere without looking. Even once. That’s what all the disputes of the unvaxxed and unmasked were. Those people said, “We have concerns, we don’t believe” and the doctors said? The doctors did? They did not look into any research, or any of the dissenting doctors, or not a single thing their patients said or presented. And if they didn’t, that’s ACTIVELY. No dice on an alibi. Problem is, I can’t imprison them all for their active reckless disregard, although real and craven, both because much as I want to, even I can’t just give them a full sentence. And we literally can’t or there’d be like 10 doctors in America. Every one of them collaborated with the cattle cars, and are still doing it this minute today.

But I do want them to s—t bricks and walk shame like Nazi collaborators until they learn their lesson. Not for revenge but as a lesson to others so we can change inside. Nothing changes unless some people go to jail, unless there are consequences. And truth.

That includes market-pricing, which looks like it’s cracking right now everywhere.

RT news (streaming) is gone, inaccessible in the country. Looks like Von den Leyen (however it’s spelled, f-en spellcheck) got a case of Turdeauism. She and the rest of the leadership sheeple need go to the political abattoir including that senile, stunted at 7 year three months of mouldering maturity and bully occupying the WH. Not one should ever see public office as long as they live, and their spawn as well. Incumbency must be stopped at the voting booth before it further metastasises; no political entity or candidate exempt.

Shells or missis were falling on Rostov as people were fleeing Donbass BEFORE the events Thursday.
Unlike U.S. war crimes against all and sundry wedding parties, the policing action targets only military targets away fro civilian congested areas.
Commerce has been destroyed, autarky will result reducing if not eliminating future commerce.
Trust will not recover for generations if at all.
Diplomacy, a completely lost art in the west, may never recover.
The cesspool of lies and lawyers will not self correct, nor relinquish power until a greater force prevails.
Failure to accomplish any of the above opens the door to a dark age like the world has never experienced that would be just short of a nuclear WWIII.
    Your choice.

Noirette and others who sent Zelenko-dancing videos:

He appears to take ANY choreography well.
This is a professional male dancer (sometimes with homoerotic stiletto heels and butt-bumps).

This is the well-rehearsed entertainer who the owners installed, but he is also a human, so also unpredictable at some point, at some critical juncture.

    Two observations:

    First
In Jo Jesbo’s fictional crime novel Phantom, Gustave is a nasty character. This character is not the most intelligent individual, but he has two interesting skills:

    • Quickly can access someone’s deepest desires.
    • Get that individual to act against their own best interest.

Klaus Schwab and other characters in our world seem to be like this Gustave character.

    Second
People around the WEF behave like a flock of birds. The birds in the middle of the flock can control the flock’s direction, and the birds at the edge are vulnerable to predators and don’t realize by following along that they are just cannon fodder.

Taibbi’s encyclopedic understanding of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (Feb 10th) is identical to his definition of apostate as applied to Vlad Putin, perfectly inverted.

Narcissists are filled with an unimaginable amount of self-hatred and recrimination, so much so that in order to survive “with themselves” the entire ocean of disgust must be projected onto other people. However, the Narcissists are even more skilled at convincing third parties that the targets of their projections deserve the blame and condemnation. Enter the coordinated third party chorus of wingmen and flying monkeys arrayed against Putin’s Russia.

Putin might very well be truer to whatever political religion Taibbi references as the institution which failed to live up to both its standards and ideals.
I am reminded of my Roman Catholic church’s public efforts to hide the priest-pedophile scandal while asserting the moral high ground of “always willing to accept the apostate victims” back to the church. Renouncing the church and its doctrine is not an apostasy except in the adulterated mind of the church-cult devotee. The same principle applies to Vladimir. Putin clearly understands the distinction that completely evades Taibbi, but Matt was there and so was Vlad. Most often the maddening crowd is mad and wrong. And my God can we agree it takes genuine spine to stand alone and refuse to suck up to rich people or your idiot boss?
Perhaps the most important thing we learn from Taibbi’s straddling the dilemma is we see exactly where Matt stands.
    So there’s that…

From what I can observe, our access to information from the Ukraine is being actively sensored, because this information doesn’t support the narrative being spun by the west.

We have seen very little “new” news since this story’s beginning.

One video, my brother saw, showed an Ukrainian driving on a highway, stopping beside a Russian tank, sitting alone on the side of the road, and saying in Russian to the tank crew, “Did they needed a tow back to Russia?” The Russian tank crew just laughed and said they had run out of gas!

“Booting Russia from the critical global system – which handles 42 million messages a day and serves as a lifeline to some of the world’s biggest financial institutions – could backfire, sending inflation higher, pushing Russia closer to China, and shielding financial transactions from scrutiny by the west. It might also encourage the development of a SWIFT alternative that could eventually damage the supremacy of the US dollar.”

Yeah, it looks like the Hudson piece (on The Saker blog) is what is getting blocked. I’ll try this war news from South Front.

Positions in the Ukraine ground war are not moving much at this point, at least as far as information is available to assess. A lot of preparations for the next phase are being made inside and outside of cities. In this “brotherly war”, it remains undecided how the cities will be negotiated. It will likely be on a case by case basis, as it has been so far.

The west wants Russia to be caught in a quagmire in Ukraine. Russia wants to arrest nazis, agree on a friendly government, trade pieces of Ukraine to appease Poland, declare the coastlines to be independent countries, and get out.
That’s a lot. The first 2 will do for the moment, I suspect,

Even though Gazprom continues to pump gas into the energy crisis-stricken continent, there are genuine risks that supply disruptions could be seen or at least pipeline capacity into Europe might not be able to inject enough gas to refill supplies ahead of next winter, which could very well result in higher energy prices.

One perspective on the events that are unfolding. I found it informative.

    https://meaninginhistory.substack.com/p/sanctions-and-the-future-a-russian?utm_source=url

    Glazyev said:
The entire crisis in Ukraine was orchestrated, provoked, and financed by American institutions in cooperation with their European partners. They financed neo-Nazis. For fifteen years, the U.S. and Europeans financed neo-Nazis’ training, their camps, and preparation. By U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland’s acknowledgement, the State Department spent $5 billion on the creation of an anti-Russian political and paramilitary elite. This work led to the sad situation that now in Ukraine neo-Nazi and neo-fascists ideas prevail, as does admiration for, more than anything, Stepan Bandera’s associates who in their time murdered Jews, Ukrainians, Russians, Poles, and whomever they wanted, burning or otherwise killing them under Nazi leadership.

The old Soviet Russia encompassed roughly 500 million people at it’s zenith. The people living below the poverty line was about 14 million.

When the old Soviet Russia collapsed and the Wolfs of Wall St came in to gut the place, over the next seven years, the people living below the poverty line rose to 168 million.

That many people living below the poverty line produced depression, mental health failures of all kinds, crime, murder, robbery, undernourishment, suicide and over all despair. Many Russians had their life savings evaporate over night and reduced them to utter poverty in their old age.

The Russians old enough still vividly remember this.

The West’s latest propaganda crusade to financially attack Russia seeks to reproduce this same state of affairs today.

SWIFT is already a dinosaur, this latest puffery by the US to weaponize it will it fact put a bullet in the back of it’s sorry head and a shallow grave in the woods. RIP SWIFT.

    How about this:

    https://newstarget.com/2022-02-27-russia-bans-ammonium-nitrate-fertilizer-exports.html

How about they redirect their 2/3s of the world’s ammonium nitrate (fertilizer) AWAY from Western countries farmer this growing season?

Delay the release of Russian fertilizer to the west to MISS the spring planting!

Wow, I wonder what that will do to food prices and Bed Pan Biden’s America the Beautiful.

Follow the money: How Russia Will Bypass Western Economic Warfare
    Pepe Escobar

    https://thesaker.is/follow-the-money-how-russia-will-bypass-western-economic-warfare/

Towards the end of the article:

    Let’s confiscate some technology

“the lethal weapon in Russia’s arsenal of responses has been identified by the head of the Center for Economic Research of the Institute of Globalization and Social Movements (IGSO),

    Vasily Koltashov:

the key is to confiscate technology – as in Russia ceasing to recognize US rights to patents.

Ouch, there’s some butthurt in there somewhere.

In what he qualifies as “liberating American intellectual property,” Koltashov calls for passing a Russian law on “friendly and unfriendly states.

If a country turns out to be on the unfriendly list, then we can start copying its technologies in pharmaceuticals, industry, manufacturing, electronics, medicine. It can be anything – from simple details to chemical compositions.”

This would require amendments to the Russian constitution.

Koltashov maintains that “one of the foundations of success of American industry was copying of foreign patents for inventions.”

Hahahaha, yes, the US has ripped off many a country. During WWII, US specialists operating just behind frontlines vacuumed up as many Nazi techno inventions and patents as possible an funneled them to US corporations for free! Yay, go USA!

Now, Russia could use “China’s extensive know-how with its latest technological production processes for copying western products: the release of American intellectual property will cause damage to the United States to the amount of around $10 trillion, only in the first stage.

It will be a disaster for them.”

As it stands, the strategic stupidity of the EU[tards] beggars belief.

China is ready to grab all Russian natural resources – with Europe left as a pitiful hostage of the oceans and of wild speculators.

It looks like a total EU-Russia split is ahead – with little trade left and zero diplomacy.”

    This was on RT.com:

YouTube has blocked the channels of RT and Sputnik for all European users, the platform, owned by Google parent company Alphabet Inc., announced on Tuesday. The block came with immediate effect, the statement said, citing the “ongoing war in Ukraine.”

RT International is among the most popular news services on YouTube and currently has 4.66 million subscribers. Its content remains available on alternative platforms like Odysee and Rumble.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, announced it will restrict European users from accessing RT and Sputnik on its platforms after receiving “requests from a number of governments.”

US-based tech platforms previously banned the Russian news organizations from monetizing their content. RT and Sputnik broadcasts were banned by some EU nations, with a bloc-wide ban currently in the pipeline.

Russia launched a military operation against Ukraine last Thursday, claiming it was necessary to demilitarize the country and put a stop to threats posed by NATO’s creeping expansion into Ukraine.

Western nations retaliated with massive economic sanctions and other restrictions. The goal, according to French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, is to “wage a total economic and financial war” against Moscow and to “cause the collapse of the Russian economy.”

It seems via some news (see top post, e.g. Gonzalo Lira ..) that everything is being done to create mayhem on the streets in East Ukr.

Handing out weapons to citizens who don’t know how to use them or what / why they act, or .. what they are supposed to do; freeing prisoners to ‘fight’; opening up joining the Army with no age limits; conscripting men aged up to 60 forcibly (I have read, don’t know if true, in fact all of this is hearsay)..

Creating many oppos for photos, short vid ops to ‘enjoin’ the W (USA in first place), the public all over, to offer strident support for UKR, to intervene (militarily…) to uphold ‘Ukrainian sovereignty’ and save ‘Ukranians’ from the invading blood-thirsty Russian hordes.

The ppl promoting these stories are Pols, W. stooges, ppl installed by the W, etc. etc.

    All from Feb. 27:

Liz Truss, GB Foreign Min., supports Brit fighters just going off, on a whim, to UKR to fight.

    https://www.standard.co.uk/video/news/liz-truss-says-she-absolutely-supports-british-citizens-going-to-fight-in-ukraine-vedb127fb

She completely by-passes all instituted UK bodies (like Parliament), all ‘war’ laws and rules, all ‘international order’ agreements, and more.

The Military Times (USA), published, Want to go fight in Ukr, here is what to do.

Ukranians abroad (outside their country) reportedly want to retun ‘home’ to fight, hmm.

    oroboros,

Your estimate of a peak of 500 million people in the Soviet Union seems a bit high. The highest I get is 286 million in 1989.

But apart from that, a very good comment.

Europe is euphoric, in a very bad way. Lots of people saying: wean us off Russian gas! What, so you need gas from Qatar, or China? Didn’t you have “ethical” problems with those places too? Besides, Russian gas come through pipes. The others, and throw in the US here, require LNG capable tankers and ports. They must be built. Want to do a cost comparison of that, and then tell your people it’s really worth it to pay 3x as much for the rest of their lives?

    Dr D:
“ But I do want them to s—t bricks and walk shame like Nazi collaborators until they learn their lesson. Not for revenge but as a lesson to others so we can change inside. Nothing changes unless some people go to jail, unless there are consequences. And truth.”

Thank you Dr D for the response. I agree. It can’t just be an “oh, well.” Although capital punishment or imprisonment would not be appropriate. The mistakes of the doctors who were deceived or just “got along to get along” or to save their jobs or justified it based on their ability to continue to treat their patients are no different than the millions of others who did the same — except that doctors have specialized training in medicine and science, they are trusted to use this training and their experience for the benefit of their patients, and the Hippocratic Oath exists for this reason. So when doctors fail to do their own thinking and research and as a result violate their Oath, the harm that they cause to others is much greater than that of the average person.

Klaus Scab and his minions of blood drinking demons want to destroy concept of the Nation-State in the West in order to smash and grab all the assets that will spill out like an over ripe piñata.

They want to destroy the US as a functioning country and sell it for parts.

Depopulating and fatally weakening the US with Covid Deathshots and the overwhelming medical consequences and costs of the Vax is just the opening set of rabbit punches to the gut for the late great USA.

The idea is to turn it into the USSA

Crushing debt and rentier fees for everything.

Wait until Americans have to rent their clothing and the tires on their cars! Hahahaha

So provoking Russia to a first strike nuclear attack on the US is a good think for Klaus Scab.

Gets rid of a bothersome Nation-State full of useless eaters and furthers a cause of One World Government.

    Back in the USSA

Some interesting work here from 2018 and may work into the present situation going on in Europe. The conclusion at the end of part two is what made me sit up.

A Practical Exercise Suggestion for Peak Oil Sceptics

And so the ominous crossing of the lines (which would define the probable time of serious conflict between the nuclear powers, whilest ignoring the 4,000 millions without nuclear weapons) would take place…. In 2023!!!

The author admits that in this initial excercise there could be some data missing. He could have made a mistake, made unreal suppositions. He has discounted the dicovery of gigantic oil finds which have been overlooked up till now, seeing as they have not been discovered in the last decade with all the modern exploration technology available. He could have underestimated that the change to a 100% renewable world is going to appear with stratospheric velocity, with electric scooters, bikes and cars for hire, with the unprecedented advance in carsharing or carpooling or carkfaking and other possible nonsense.

For all of this, I offer you the page of calculations which have led me to arrive at these conclusions. They are freely accessable to the public reader, so that if they wish, they might improve, correct, estimate in a different way, add in the data they deem reasonable, justified or opportune, and send it back to us. So that they might perhaps arrive at projections of a different orientation.

Years ago I read a study about putting a LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) terminal in Boston Harbor.

The worst case scenario was a massive pressure leak that expanded across the surface of the entire harbor at night with the weather in a temperature inversion, gas is heavier than air, so that the gas plume got quite a head start fanning out over the harbor water.

    Then it ignites.

The estimate said the resulting explosion would be second only to a small nuclear device but that it would set everything on fire for a 5 mile radius with no chance of enough fire suppression equipment in the Great Boston area to deal with it.

Basically much of Boston would burn to the ground.

So they put the LNG terminals offshore underwater about 13 miles out so outside the harbor if trouble happened it would minimize the damage.

Pressurized gas on a ship is a very expensive piece of kit. About $200 million plus to built one plus $320,000 a day to operate shipping gas.

Eurotardland is gonna take it up the old wazoo buying gas from the USSA.

I posted this way too late yesterday, but amazingly it’s still up. Qbert at NC must still have spike proteins on the brain.

Before Biden sends us all to the radioactive goop wasteland, let me just say I found this hilarious.

How it got through Qbert’s filter I don’t know.

    An excerpt:

“My friends were in trouble. I hadn’t even had my morning vaccines or Remdesivir’d my penis, but I had to move fast. I kissed my Fauci (MBUH) poster (on the lips), put on my hazmat, and ran towards downtown. It was complete chaos in the streets. An angry mob had assembled outside of Starbucks demanding to be QR coded before they ordered their dingleberry frappuccinos and wrote things on their laptops. A hysterical woman stopped me in distress; “PLEASE SIR, PLEASE SCAN MY PHONE! TELL ME I’M A GOOD CITIZEN!” she pleaded. I wanted to help, but I had to find Karl. Her chilling screams for validation will haunt me for the rest of my life.”

Humor is one of the few things that can keep sanity when all around is madness.

Breaking – Ardern has sent in large numbers of cops early this morning with riot shields and pepper spray to clear out the protesters in front of the NZ Parliament.

As the protesters said: the Ardern administration talked to the Taliban, they talked to the Mongrel Mob (an NZ motorcycle gang that they financed with community projects), but they wouldn;t talk to us.

Just like Canada – dark days for another of the 5 eyes pseudo-democracies..

That is some serious wood cutting/debranching/splitting hardware you have acquired! Some of those heads must weight 5 to 10 pounds!

Sadly, I wouldn’t be able to use them for very long these days. I have found my arm joints just can’t take the pounding they used to be able to do, therefore screws vs nails. I also hurt my right should last fall and it still hasn’t recovered any over the winter. I pulled something for sure. Sadly I would be forced to get or make a wood splitter.

I have often thought of making one using a hand driven hydraulic pump with a cylinder. When I was building blast hole drills, in a former life, the drill came with a hydraulic hand pump and cylinder to tighten the tension on the crawler pads as they wore. But usually by the time the drill was built it had disappeared. I always figured that others had the very same idea too.

I see you have put up auxiliary solar panels. If your lack of sunny days matches mine (solar cooker) then your batteries are not being fully re-charged due to the endless days of cloudy weather.

It looks like you have less snow than we do here in Toronto!

This afternoon we took my daughter to the airport for her 3 week remote working from Orlando trip.

Right now I am just cooling my heels until the sap starts up again on March 6th. I made blueberry pancakes for my daughter this morning, and got my first taste of homemade maple syrup! Very clear and sweet (Grade No. 1) but does not yet have the strong dark maple flavor (Grade No. 3 or 4 – the bottom of the barrel!) that I prefer which only comes at the very end of the sap season.
