A note on the Russian operation in Ukraine
Russia is not only trying to minimize civilians causalities and trying to keep the civilian infrastructure functioning, they are doing this with a minimum sized force compared to what the Empire of Lies used in say Iraq, where it’s invading force used overwhelming force size, killed half a million civilians, and utterly destroy the civilian infrastructure, in parts, even to this day.
The bulk of Russian military forces are not even committed to this action in Ukraine, they are poised and ready along their own ‘contact line’ with NATO from north to south in case the Empire of Lies wants to try a sneak attack on Russia.
In summary, the Russians are accomplishing their special operation in Ukraine with numerical inferiority to the Ukrainian army size.

Okay, so I just read the hit-piece on TheDailyBeast.com referred to in this video. That Gonzalo Lira is a social-maladjust and grandstander who doesn’t know quite as much about all and sundry as he likes to imagine he does, squares with my initial impression of him. I still find his on-the-ground insights about the war in Ukraine valuable, though it’s true his perspective may be just a tad one-sided, as this would be consistent with his excessively one-sided views on gender and society. But his take is still a lot more thoughtful and nuanced than the shrieking propaganda that passes for news and information on mainstream websites.
Talking of suicide, it is now clear that Australia has decided to top itself.
Last Tuesday, the Federal Court overturned the ruling from last year that the Federal Environment Minister has a duty of care to protect young people from the effects of climate change when making decisions. Last year’s ruling was a world first, setting a precedent for cases all over the world, and it was also finally some common sense.
In other words, the future is of no consequence. Whatever we lust after now, we do, and hang the consequences.

Monday was the first post mask mandate day for the province of Ontario. I spent the day at work – in a grocery store – and can report that 90% of customers continued wearing their mask. Just when I thought nothing more could surprise me.
Yes I know the argument continues to be: “they’re frightened.” After two years?
It was put best here: we are the Empire of Children. You can frighten 2 year olds once and they’ll remain scared long after the initial event. Plus it may take an enormous amount of coaxing to help them get over that fear. Who’s around to coax when everyone is embracing the same fear? Some will be traumatized for life. Now imagine grown adults with the mentality of 2 year olds. Actually I don’t need to imagine anything. When I return to work today I’ll have a front row seat for this three ring circus.
I used to hear lots about Dying With Dignity. Looking at all the elderly people and their masks, it seems no one cares about Living With Dignity. I won’t mention turning retirement homes into permanent maximum security prisons. I wonder how many people rescued their parents from these homes. Or how many pretended they had no choice but to have them serve out their sentence.

With regards to what Gonzalo Lira is stating about journalists, haven’t we seen this to be the case in all major events for the past 20 years? This is what i don’t get, the same people have been caught lying for 20 years about all these huge events, nobody is ever punished or goes to jail (unless you were the person pointing out the lying, kinda like a whistleblower). Yet we still can’t come to trust those who say yes i see what you’re seeing, and then create a narrative with regards to it?

So this not unique to NY? Our mask mandate ended a few weeks ago. Lots of people are still wearing masks. Some of them while outside. Some while driving around by themselves. Masked people avoid being anywhere near someone who doesn’t wear a mask. Interestingly – I see more twenty-somethings and young parents wearing masks (children also masked) than I see seniors, who mostly haven’t seemed overly concerned since the start of this.
I think some people are damaged at this point. Not sure there is a fix. Sad.

In Canberra mask mandates ended a few weeks ago. Most people don’t wear them any more. Of those that still do, the age distribution is mainly older people, but some younger people continue. Individual enterprises can still require them, e.g. doctors’ surgeries.
Waiting now for the next variant to arrive, or for something completely new to emerge from the abyss.
Why are many on TAE so obsessed with those that wear masks?
If I don an N95 while blowing out the garage, does that make me a lesser being?!?
Isn’t that just a tad hypocritical, for those complaining about tyranny, to judge/condemn others when their thinking/actions do not harm you in any way?
