I am doing my best to ensure people realise that Kirk the evangelical christian was as evil as the people pulling the trigger in Gaza. You get those saying that Kirk was a good guy because all he wanted to do was talk; sure he supported the genocide in Gaza, but he wasn’t actually doing it, so he is a good guy. But the same doesn’t apply to his shooter; you say his shooter was a good guy and they shit their pants and start screaming like a toddler and pointing to you as an evil bastard. Support Gaza good, support Kirk shooter bad. They are just so lame that it is not worth replying to them; lost their minds.

Another perspective: Like most Christians today, he probably conflated the Zionist state of Israel with biblical writers. This is easy to do, and the idea is highly promoted by religious thought leaders. If Christianity was the structure on which his psyche was built, how easy would it be for him to exorcise this false belief? To see the modern state of Israel as an assembly of murdering Zionist zealots rather than God’s Chosen People?
CK was not a simple man who took matters lightly. His beliefs were deeply held and were his compass in life. However, it is likely that at the ripe age of 31, he was not yet a sovereign man, and still relied on certain religious leaders for his doctrine. Just as people we all know look to their favorite TV anchor to make sense of the day’s events… or the NYT or the WSJ.

Bull shit. Anyone who supports genocide does not have beliefs in civil society and good faith discussion. Just because you also too obviously support the genocide in Gaza, do not think that the death of Kirk makes Gaza defensible. It is an evil act and has no place in the playbook of a civil society.

Neither the pro-causes left or the pro-genocide right are the good guys, all of US politics is lacking in any form of leadership or shared direction, which is why when Trump arrived, the pro-cause left could band together and hate on him, they had another uniting cause; TDS. The right is just as bad, they all thought that Trump was something he wasn’t, the reason being that Trump had no ideology, so actually nobody knew what Trump would do; they are now fractured into anti-Trump right and pro-Trump right. Everybody is looking for something to unite around, as long as they are not uniting with the “other side”, classic divide and conquer.

My father was an evangelical, not in the Scofield camp, and it did not take me 30 years to realise that it was not a truthful religion and that it was full of bad people; I knew that before I left home at 17 years of age. Kirk was still hitched to Scofield at the age of 30; he was a slow learner. Regardless, what he may heve become is not relevant to what he actually was; what he was is the truth, the rest is fantasy and making excuses for him.
