Russia Forced The West To Face Its Own Decline (Bordachev)

With the deterrent of guaranteed mutual destruction between Russia and the United States still intact, global politics is entering a new phase of “normality.” For the first time in decades, there is no single center setting rules for all. Something older, more pluralistic, and less predictable is emerging – a return to the natural state of international affairs. One of the least discussed effects of the decline of the liberal economic order that dominated the late 20th century is the erosion of Western capacity to manage global politics effectively. The European Union offers the starkest example of this change, though even the United States – despite its power – is less confident than it was twenty years ago.

At the same time, other nations have grown relatively more independent. China has led the way, proving that economic success need not depend on direct control of other states. Its global political initiatives may still be taking shape, but they already offer a model based not on coercion, but coexistence. Russia plays its own distinct role in this transformation. With immense military capabilities and a more modest economic footprint, Moscow contributes to the democratization of world politics simply by existing as an independent pole of power. Its defiance of Western dominance has forced a rethink of US strategy itself – particularly after the failure of Washington’s attempt to “isolate and strategically defeat” Russia.

India, the third pillar of the non-Western world, has also chosen its own path. It uses cooperation with the West to advance national development but remains fiercely independent when it comes to its core interests, especially the promise of steady growth for its population. As a result, international politics is becoming less bound by the “rules-based order” created by centuries of Western infighting. From the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648 to the creation of the United Nations, the Western world shaped global norms through its own conflicts. But those internal rivalries have disappeared. Western Europe’s states are now consolidated around Washington in a way that appears irreversible.

This alignment accelerated after the 2008–2011 financial crisis and the EU’s subsequent shocks – from the migration crisis and pandemic to its technological stagnation. Unable to compete with the US or China in advanced industries such as artificial intelligence, Europe gradually surrendered its strategic autonomy. By the time of the 2022 confrontation over Ukraine, the continent was psychologically ready to outsource decision-making entirely to Washington. Under the Biden administration, that control was exercised with diplomatic finesse. But since the return of the Republicans in 2025, the subordination has become more explicit. European leaders are now expected to comply with the White House’s every directive – even its most extravagant ones. Sovereignty, in the Western European context, no longer means strategy. It means finding a place within America’s.

This loss of internal competition has deprived the West of its traditional mechanism for renewal. For centuries, rivalries among its own powers drove the creation of global rules and norms. The “civil wars” of the West once produced the framework that others – willingly or otherwise – adopted. Now, with no serious internal contest left, the West has lost its ability to generate ideas for the world.

Unable to adapt to its diminished power, it increasingly turns to destabilization. The West’s proxies – Israel, Turkey, and the Kiev regime – each manufacture crises within their regions as if to prove continued relevance. What cannot be achieved by attraction is now pursued through disruption.nElsewhere, states are responding with varying degrees of confidence. Iran’s deterrent capacity is formidable; Russia’s resilience is grounded in strategic balance; China’s power is tempered by its vast internal and external constraints. Most other countries pursue cautious pragmatism – trying to shield their interests while avoiding confrontation. India stands out again for asserting its independence within this environment of uncertainty.

This new order – or rather, the lack of one – has created an unusual condition: there is no longer an “organizing center.” The United States remains powerful, but it cannot dictate universally. Western Europe lacks will and imagination. China and Russia, meanwhile, embody an alternative: a multipolar world of self-determining nations rather than ideological blocs. The mutual nuclear deterrence between Russia and the United States gives humanity a paradoxical advantage: time. It prevents large-scale war and allows for the emergence of a new global equilibrium – one without a hegemon. The next phase of international politics may resemble earlier centuries, when multiple powers coexisted without a single “world policeman.”

How long this window will last is uncertain. Neither Russia nor the United States can halt the technological race that constantly redefines military balance. Yet, if this fragile moment endures long enough, it may allow the world to adapt – to learn how to function without the illusions of Western “leadership.” For over five hundred years, the West imagined itself the author of civilization’s script. That story is now ending. The power to define “normality” in world politics is shifting to a broader cast – one that includes not only Russia, China, and India, but also dozens of smaller states finding their voices. What replaces Western dominance will not be chaos but pluralism – a more honest reflection of the world as it is, not as one power wished it to be.

We may not yet see the contours of the new order, but its foundation is already visible: a global balance sustained not by faith in universal rules, but by the enduring reality of mutual restraint.

“Instead of winning on issues, the left resorts to melodramas that no one believes in anymore.” —Victor Davis Hanson

Standoff (James Howard Kunstler)

Welcome to the first Monday in October. Know what that means? It means, by federal statute (28 U.S.C. § 2), that the Supreme Court convenes for its new term. Thank goodness, because it’s pretty obvious by now that the Party of Chaos seeks to hogtie and paralyze the executive branch of the government in order to promote the chaos that the Party of Chaos has deftly created for our country. Something must be done.

Chaos is now the Democrats’ preferred milieu for American daily life. They call it The Resistance, bethinking themselves heroic revolutionaries, much like the Jacobins did in Paris, 1793-94, when they tried to turn French society upside-down and inside-out with their insane social “reforms” while they went about chopping the heads off of 17,000 fellow citizens (another 10,000 died in prison awaiting the guillotine). The Jacobins were intoxicated by blood-letting. Their antics lasted less than one year, at the end of which they were briskly routed from the revolutionary assembly hall and escorted within hours to appointments with their own beloved head-chopping device. . . end of story.

The Democratic Party is likewise demonstrably insane. Look no further than the mobs calling themselves Antifa and Transtifa assaulting the federal immigration buildings around the country and promising overtly to injure and even kill their opponents. These are not mere protesters, and everyone knows it, including the upper echelons of the party. They are a riffraff of the violent mentally ill committing criminal acts. Many of them are getting paid for their capers by shadowy NGOs, backed by deranged billionaires. In the case of Portland, Oregon, they have been protected for years by the political establishment, including the governor, the mayor, the police, who will not arrest them, and DAs who won’t prosecute them.

They are ostensibly devoted to stopping the deportation of illegal immigrants, but that is really just the most convenient sob-story to hang their real intentions on — which are to destroy the country currently configured as a Republic and bring on a despotic utopia of free stuff — liquidating anyone who opposes them in the process. They are not all communists, strictly speaking, but the utopia they seek certainly smells like the nightmare societies operated by Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot.

Many of us are opposed to that outcome, including the president of the US, Mr. Trump, who is finally sending federal troops into these places to put a stop to all that. The Antifa street actions in Portland and Chicago give off the odor of actual insurrection, though they have not been labeled as such yet. The police in Chicago have literally declared that they will not assist or protect federal agents going about their business. The police in Portland have been ordered by their superiors to stand down with Antifa.

The president has a duty to protect federal property and the lives of federal employees. You might have noticed that federal district judges have been marshaled by occult Lawfare forces to play a role in The Resistance — to issue stays and temporary restraining orders (TROs) on all and every federal action to put down apparent insurrection. The judges refuse to recognize the Antifa mob actions as anything but lawful assemblies, and they are plainly lying about that.

This has got to stop and the SCOTUS has got to do it now that they are open for business this first Monday of October. The court has what’s called an emergency docket, which allows for expedited interventions on behalf of the executive branch in events that demand it. The emergency docket bypasses the standard merit docket process, which entails oral arguments and detailed opinion. The court’s decisions in such emergency cases are likewise temporary stays of lower court stays and TROs, pending a case moving into the regular merit docket, where arguments are made and definitive decisions are issued on what the law allows the president to do. It’s kind of hard to imagine that SCOTUS would rule against the president defending federal property and lives.

The Party of Chaos is pretty obviously trying to gin up a constitutional crisis at the same time that Chuck Schumer’s Senate Democrats have shut down regular operations of the government in a foolish game of “chicken.” Before long, Americans will suffer from the shutdown, especially middle-class government employees (largely Democrats) who have bills to pay like everybody else. Tomorrow, to aggravate matters, Tuesday, a massive Antifa mob action is planned for New York City.

The play here for the Party of Chaos is the same old routine straight out of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals: instigate action on the enemy in order to provoke a reaction by them that will allow the radicals to yell “tyrant” and “fascist.” The Party of Chaos is against all order and authority that is not their own order and authority — which is the kind you get with Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot: rank despotism, mass murder, lockdown, prison, censorship, poverty, and lawless law. The objective is to maneuver President Trump into declaring a national emergency so they can call him names. The SCOTUS needs to sort all this out without delay.

Jordan Peterson Was ‘Near Death’ Over The Summer (Margolis)

ordanPeterson’s daughter has revealed that the acclaimed psychologist and author came frighteningly close to death this summer after developing both pneumonia and sepsis. In a video posted to YouTube, Mikhaila Peterson said her 62-year-old father spent almost a month in intensive care as doctors fought to save him. “This summer has been exceedingly difficult,” she admitted, calling the experience “terrifying” and the most stressful chapter their family has endured. She described the crisis as a long, uncertain battle that pushed everyone to the breaking point.Peterson—admired by millions for his defense of free speech and traditional values—has endured a number of health setbacks in recent years, but Mikhaila’s account suggests this one was by far the most serious.

The New York Post has more:n“:She said that her dad’s latest health issues came after he had dealt with a “host of neurological issues this summer that we believe stem from…chronic inflammatory response syndrome, due to decades of mold exposure.” She said the condition triggered a series of “neurological symptoms” that worsened after Peterson cleaned out his late father’s basement earlier this year.“We don’t have a better explanation for his neurological symptoms at the moment other than spiritual attacks,” she said. The update marks the first detailed account of Peterson’s condition since his daughter announced in August that he was taking “time off of everything.” “He’s been suffering for the last number of years with unexplainable neuropathy and weakness, amongst other symptoms,” she said.

“After almost a month in the ICU, he’s been moved out to a less urgent floor. Praise God for that.” Mikhaila said her father is now improving, but his recovery remains uncertain. “We’re still in the midst of this but now we’re seeing improvements daily,” Mikhaila said in a video posted this week. “The timeline for his full recovery is hard to tell at the moment.” According to Mikhaila, her father’s path to recovery has been slow and complicated. “He can’t take most medications without suffering from severe paradoxical reactions, which limits treatment options,” she explained, noting that his preexisting immune system disorder has made even standard care extremely risky.

The family’s challenges didn’t end there. Mikhaila, 32, revealed that her own newborn daughter was hospitalized on the very same day that they rushed her father to the ER. “In August, the day Dad was brought to a hospital by ambulance, my newborn Audrey was also brought to a hospital by ambulance within hours of each other,” she said. Thankfully, the baby—previously treated for pulmonary hypertension—has since stabilized. Mikhaila, who co-hosts her father’s Daily Wire program Answer the Call, said her father’s condition had worsened for weeks before the hospitalization, tied to his ongoing immune disorder. “He’s hopefully recovering,” she said. “He’s out of the ICU so that’s the main thing. … Praise God for that.” Jordan Peterson first rose to prominence for opposing Canada’s Bill C-16—the law adding gender identity protections to the country’s human-rights code—and went on to become one of the most influential conservative thinkers.

@Dr D Rich: Gabbard is very different from Hegseth.

Hegseth is an unintelligent, egotistic showboat in notably poor taste.
Gabbard is thoughtful, reserved, honorable, hard-working, physically, mentally and spiritually fit, and surfs.

    They are unlumpable-together, please. 😉

Jefferson Airplane’s Let’s Get Together is stronger, and has Grace Slick’s voice… though both are wonderful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DIluFDkw0g

If you mean to disparage Gabbard, I disagree. She’s made of sterner stuff.

She is on the genocide team. That said, Kennedy is definitely on the genocide team, but he appears to be producing some good results – Covid emergency not withstanding. When Gabbard produces some results then we can all celebrate that you were indeed correct, until then she does not get any special treatment.

The Soviet Union wasn’t communist or socialist either

Ideologies are ideas from people, they are not reality. Like having principles to live by, these ideologies guide the rulers in a certain direction, but no ideology has ever been tried or can ever be tried as a real system. Like all things created by humans, there will be holes in the ideology that make it an impossible ideal; it can only exist in its true form in books.

The first thing that destroys ideologies is corruption, people get in the way and start acting like people, the ideology then suffers and/or breaks down. That is why the distinction between Marxism, communism, socialism etc is all very cognitive, there is no distinction in practice because all are unattainable; they are something for “leftists” to argue about in the same way as capitalism is something for the “rightists” to think about. In the end, all that thinking is a waste of time, you are simplifying the world which never works.

One exception, the only time (that I can think of) when simplifying the world ever really works is in digital electronics. Only very few humans are truely capable of producing complex, reliable machines from analogue electronics, so some geniuses somewhere invented digital electronics, which hides the analogue stuff, simplifying the electronic world for average brains like you and me. Taming humans in the same way is not possible.

@jb-hb I am not defending “leftists”, I am defending humans who are being used by monied interests to create conflict in society. Do you think the BLM riots were the idea of some black person somewhere, or were they the idea of some rich elites who funded the riots, bussed people to the riots, paid people to cause trouble, provided immunity from prosecution for some of the ring leaders, even provided enough money for the black leaders to steal that money and buy themselves some houses.

Same with the Covid jab, the vast majority of people who took the jab thought they were doing the right thing, There were the group who were attacking the anti-vaxxers, but media encouraged them, the lead coming from the top (Biden), they were encouraged to hate on the unvaxxed and they did so. Companies were told to hate on the unvaxxed and they did so, again being led from the top. But, none of this was to their or the unvaxxeds’ advantage, it was all to the advantage of the elites, the people running big pharma etc. The people who donated cash to Biden etc.

The people donating money to the administrations, whether Biden or Trump, have no left versus right affiliation. Left versus right is about how you treat the common people, like us, it does not apply to the billionaires, so they don’t care – you don’t become a billionaire by caring about people. What they care about is how much money they can squeeze out of the government, which regulations they can abuse to make them a little more money at the price of the health of the public etc.

There are a lot of stupid people in this world, a lot of them are desperate and will take money to do stupid things, like the BLM riots. Others are just stupid enough to join in the riots for free, thinking they are a part of something. Turning on these people, making them the focus of your hatred, is not a clever tactic. These people are like the sheep in the field, you are ignoring the farmer and his sheep dogs and instead shouting at the sheep. The sheep won’t obey you, not because they are bad sheep, but because you don’t understand the shepp, sheep dog, farmer relationship.

Look at Biden and Trump, do you seriously think Biden is left wing? Pelosi, does she strike you as left wing or is she just supporting certain monied interests and the rest is theatre? When they kneeled in their Kente clothes, do you think they really value the American link to Africa? Really? If you do then you are too gullible, this is my point, look at the situation with a critical eye and allow for the fact that most people out there can be fucking stupid and will fall for the theatre show. Fighting these people does not help, the way to compete with TPTB is to try to lead these people in a different direction.

They say that it takes about 5% of the population to instigate a revolution and change the government. The rest of the people are just NPCs, doing nothing, thinking nothing, knowing nothing. Don’t fight the NPCs, it is a waste of time.

Yes, spot gold is sitting just below $4,000.

However, the claims for over $4,000 gold prices, refers to the fake paper gold futures market where you can not take delivery of real gold, but where all futures are settled only in paper dollars!

This argument is superficial, as the spot gold price will likely hit above $4,000 any day now!
