Does anyone else get the impression that all this great reset garbage is actually a sign that the system is losing its power rather than gaining more? If one looks through history one will find that towards the end of empires and elite rule the powers that be attempt to grasp power ever more tightly and descend into greater depths of depravity. Waves crash right after they reach their greatest height and then roll back out to sea. I think the turn towards totalitarianism is a sign that the system is buckling and the limits to growth model’s time scales were correct. The further you are from the urban centers of power, the more free you will be of all this nonsense, and you can basically just ignore it. Get the hell out of the big cities while you still can and watch from afar as they progressively go more insane. I’m currently just acting as if the big cities of my country did not exist, and any government above the local community level does not exist, so any orders given down from above are ignored. It’s a far more pleasant place. As Dr D says a lot of this is voluntary, we can turn of facebook, twitter, the tv and our lives would be much better for it.
