When things coalesce…dawned on me just yesterday, when so many things from these past years became clear. Mini realizations, mini enlightenments, calm acceptance.

Sitting at a stoplight, look left at the driver and passengers, heads bowed staring at their phones, look right- same drivers heads bowed, behind me same. on the street people walking their dog, waiting for the bus…all heads stooped and bowed staring into their god of technology,

Humanity has reached a pinnacle of failure, a new height of low.

These past years I have put up with, barely enduring, a level of bs social norms from incompetent liars to hypocrites and cowards. Initially it was more than disconcerting and shocking…over time the isolated incidents became a chronic societal pattern all too familiar, the “new norm”.

Over time and failures, I became wiser to the patterns, approaching them with tactics and strategy, rather than reactive resistance. One particular incident at work really got my attention. One of the token mentally ill gay guys was sitting at the bar, he had previously disclosed to me his history of all the problems in his life, all the diagnoses, all the medications etc.

The pattern consistently repeated itself again and again- within 5 minutes the guest sitting at the bar (usually female, often gay) would unload their mental health history- “my therapist”/ “my problems”…I’ve tried everything…all unsolicited…

Anyway, my gay co-worker looks up from his drink and says- “I don’t like you, you’re too nice”.
I laughed for a moment replying, “well it’s a choice I make, and you don’t even know me”.
Later the bartender, my other co-worker who witnessed the event said to me-
“people should not confuse kindness with weakness…”

Fast forward a few months to a busy Friday night when an unhinged dude walks into the packed restaurant and creates a massive disturbance. My ‘danger threat’ radar immediately turned on.
I kept a distance watching intently to see what would play out…

The female owner tried talking to the guy and getting him out the door, the 100lb overweight female mgr tried, the gay asst mgr tried and then got on the phone calling the police. Of course the police will not, and did not show up. Seattle leftists de-funded the police, the police on capitol hill abandoned the precinct. National News about the “Chaz summer of love” in Seattle when the leftists ‘took over’.

After way too long, the dude rampaging through the business, the entire staff slack jawed and helpless-
I’d had enough and stepped in- I launched the dude about 10ft to the door with a push shove constant contact out the door- and quickly closed and held the door shut on him. Dude then really freaked out screaming and yelling, pounding on the glass…I’m thinking cool he’s gonna break the glass…this is interesting.

I turn around while holding the door shut to see the staff behind me slack jawed, tell the owner to get the keys and lock the door. Multiple guests thanked me for “getting the crazy guy out the door”.
Much of the staff looked at me in shock seeing the “too nice guy” in a very different light.

Suffice to say I was never insulted or disrespected by my co-workers again- which was a regular thing until that night.
