    We needed a 2,000 point interest rate hike. Jerry gave us 50. I’m sure that’ll be fine. Good show old chum. Nice try.

    If Russia left the lights on the and the bridges intact, so peachy-safe that all of Congress and every PM is vacationing in Kiev, then when NATO sends weapons and gets all those places bombed, isn’t it NATO attacking and destroying Ukraine?

    “The U.S. will have approved 2/3rds of the whole Russian military budget”

    …And still not only lost, but barely took the field. As usual. It’s F’ing embarrassing. If you want to fail, I can give that to you at 1/10th of the cost and save a lot of bother.

    “Twitter Launches New Purge of Covid Contrarians (JTN)”

    Repeating the CDC info, legally listed on the bottle of the drug, is “Disinformation” and purged. This is why the very existence of the word “Disinformation” is dangerous. What is it? WHATEVER I SAY IT IS, now SHUT UP!!! Same with “Nazi”. Centrist Right are Nazis, Centrist Left are Nazis, Bernie is a Nazi, people further left then Bernie are Nazis, ACTUAL Nazis, wearing Nazi insignias, flags, handshakes, holidays, rules, histories, portraits, shooting ACTUAL civilians in an ethnic purge of the same people as the Nazi Reich? Not Nazis. Heroes of Peace and Democracy. BECAUSE I SAY SO now SHUT UP!!! Saying Nazis are Nazis when they Nazi up and down Europe in a Third World War is “Disinformation.”

    Paul Craig Roberts pointed out yesterday that warning CONSTANT, TERRIBLE, CEASELESS existential provocations to Russia will lead to a Third World War and quite possibly a deadly nuclear exchange…is considered disinformation. Warning people of safety, against the end of the world and death of millions, that that might be a bad thing we shouldn’t do? Disinformation. Banna-hamma’

    Allowing everyone freedom of speech, including minorities and the vulnerable “be a direct threat to public safety…among those already most vulnerable and marginalized” Yes, if you run a system that depends on lies and suppression of free discourse, then exposing that oppressive system, the merger of corporation and government, WOULD cause dangerous unrest, and possibly a threat to that oppressive but orderly system.

    Speaking of, that’s the Nationalization of German Energy industry, and others. The White Papers now all say “We can only respond to this energy challenge with a merger of corporation and state, working together…” Uh-huh. Corporation and State, enfolding and demanding the unity of thought among the people. And when has a merger of corporation and state, under a religious and moral imperative with emergency war powers ever gone wrong?

    So I guess we’re at Step Z: This is the last step of a long plan. Corporations will run the nations without the possibility of accountability or competition. …I’m pretty sure that’s not Capitalism but there IS a widely-used name for such a system and such people.

    “Elon Musk Turns to Old Financial Backers for $44b Twitter Buyout (NYP)”

    Pointing out that Musk is a front operation, engineered by the White Hats (for now) or the banks would never allow him to raise or move the money. It’s a big thing, suggesting they are winning far more behind the scenes than one might think from all the sturm und drang. Think about it: literally Musk could have wanted to buy it and been completely prevented. Prevented even from selling his own stock, raising money, by using the same methods of cancel culture, just at Morgan and Citi, NYSE levels. Addendum, the things they clearly own or have theleverage to arm-twist without comment are the nuclear core of the Black Hats, inside their headquarters and power base. Can we tell this is not a sham, a show? Yes, because the BlackRock wing of evil, Coke, Nike, Disney, are still onboard with a boycott that can only hurt themselves.

    “Washington Post’s Moscow sources had quickly shot down as “bullshit” and “impossible,”

    There are lots of “Impossible”. Remember how Cohen traveled to I dunno, Prague to sit on a park bench and swap dossiers like out of a cheap movie? Except his passport had no action, never stamped and he lever left the country, but they reported it anyway? Yes, that kind of “Impossible”, and the original narrative was drenched in it. I think the pee tape was the same, like he wasn’t in Moscow at those dates and didn’t stay in that hotel. Total kindergarten stuff, same as just creating a text file that had the “Russian Phone” pings on it the CIA took one look at and said was fake. The story was so bad even BuzzFeed wouldn’t touch it, had no traction, and took months to get someone crazy enough to print. Translation: Impossible. But we’re now “To Impossible, and Beyond!!!” Or “Through Mental illness, and beyond!”

    Disney falls $63Billion. That’s a lot of money, and it is caused by their actions, but remember it’s also against the entire market collapsing too.

    “Watch: Dave Chappelle Attacked on Stage by Armed Man”

    As expected: shutting down free speech and dissent by arranging for the public to attack and kill them personally. Punch a Nazi. Stochastic terrorism. And everyone who disagrees with me is a Nazi. Now at the Supreme Court. Need their home address? Call Taylor Lorenz. She was just saying Drudge was non-stop harassing her, wouldn’t leave her alone, was going to press charges. Drudge called this WaPo editor? Yeah…she was only kidding! Exactly zero of it ever happened. Again. Gooooooo WaPo! Fakest Evah! BUt to be fair, they have a hiring quota for super-rich mentally ill snowflakes.

    Btw: is Assault illegal? Even at the Hollywood Bowl? Is it also illegal to hit cops at a protest? If it’s illegal how are people doing these illegal things?

    And protests for Roe. Sigh. In California. I’m sorry people are so incredibly, violently, painfully ignorant. Listen: what happens if Roe is overturned in S.F., in California? Nothing. In fact, as the issue falls back to the State Legislatures, they could arguably be MORE lax than now. So L.A. Leftists are beating Hollywood cops to make a point about Alabama? No. They’re just incredibly dumb, misled, lied to, and believe everything. Why, I cannot possibly imagine considering the President was the spearhead of the Black-imprisoning ‘94 Crime Bill. But they are. Need to protect the right of death? Burn down your own neighborhood, that’ll larn ’em.

    Biden: “I believe that a woman’s right to choose is fundamental, Roe has been the law of the land for almost fifty years, and basic fairness and the stability of our law demand that it not be overturned.”

    A) How did it become the law of the land? No Legislature passed it. Isn’t that our correct and legal method? B) does the “fundamental right to choose” include at-birth abortions as they now say? Post Birth even, as the VA governor said? C) It cannot be overturned by the same people who (perhaps illegally) created it? So law and authority only go one way? My way, regardless of who is seated or what happens ever after? Even 50 years later? D) When it is overturned, it’s still in force. It just needs to be passed honestly and correctly, by actual legislatures in the States.

    Pretty clearly part of throwing the midterms, more evidence pours in hourly. What was that about Trump “Erasing all legal norms”? Is the first USSC leak EVER, to throw an election, something similar to that? And not even to prevent Trump, but just average Joes in Congress. Downside: the rhetoric plays exclusively to the most far-left, radical base. That is, they’re talking to themselves and not persuading any swing voters.

    Seeing some comments on “Hitler’s Jewish blood”. I’m sorry: is that NOT true this morning all of a sudden? Is it because it’s an even-numbered day, or is that the sort of new, invented reality that will stick? …Asking for a friend. Lord knows I won’t care. Science trending because made up on TikTok isn’t really evidence to me.

    “Gen. Milley Warns Congress: Chances Of War Among Great Powers “Increasing, Not Decreasing”
    …Pentagon leaders repeated that Russian use of chemical weapons would likely trigger a “reaction from the international community”

    Translation: We’re losing so we’re going to go full-war. By adding $33B in heavy weaponry maybe? Shutting down all discussion of consequences like a world-wide nuclear exchange? And we’re going to do that by faking a chemical attack. Got it, thanks. Your cooperation is appreciated. Dore follows this long, in that they are “We are losing the war on disinformation in Ukraine!!!” Unless Ukraine is the 51st state and this is already “our war” why would I ever care? Ah, but you see, it is. They’ve been very clear that the U.S. owns Ukraine and are going to get as many Ukrainians killed as they want to, see-if-we-won’t.

    They’ve already given Ukraine more moneys in one month than any of the 50 states all year. I don’t remember voting on any of this, nor any acts, laws, etc about it. Because: Law. We do NOT follow law that has been passed, while we DO follow law not-passed by the Executive and Supreme Court. Must be a Thursday, somewhere in the hazy 200-odd years we’ve been doing this.

    Well, there was a huge rate-hike from the Fed relatively speaking, and yet the financial markets went all steroidal anyway. You would really have to have your head in the sand at this point to maintain that the Plunge Protection Team is not very actively involved in keeping these markets propped up.

    Here’s a little puzzle and maybe a small critique.

    You mean to tell me Elon Musk really isn’t the richest $200billion dollar guy in the world?
    That Elon never received a single billion dollar interest-free, instantly forgiven “loan” in his life?
    That Elon thru only his hard work, sweat and toil made his billions the old fashion way like Bezos’s 300000 family seed money or Those F*ckedUp Saudis drilling their own oil?

    Tell me it isn’t so!!

    Okay find the error in this news clip. Hint; who is running all these shows that D and others instantly recognize as fraudulent bullshit. No fair using the google search:

    “It was revealed this week in The Wall Street journal Secretary of State William Burns recently traveled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where he held a secretive meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
    The purpose of the publicly unannounced visit, held in mid-April, appears to have been another attempt to try and heal souring relations with the Biden administration”

    If you look at it through a Davos lens, abortion is about focussing on “unwanted people”. (About 7+ billion of them, apparently.)
    Abortion after quickening has always been a sordid affair.
    There is no such thing as abortion after dilation.
    If the state can prohibit abortion, it can mandate abortion. Abortions will happen, regardless of law. It then becomes a question of how vindictive the state wants to be- should it find out it has happened. That’s why it was a privacy issue, and why Covid turning medical privacy on its head was the worst cultural shift to come out of the plandemic.
    It isn’t so much about galvanizing “the base” over abortion, but giving cover to millions of fake votes coming up in the midterms. Just like “I hate Trump” was supposed to have been enough to get 80 million to vote for the intensely creepy Biden.

    reference : the illustrated quotation of Bertrand Russel hailing the delivery of happiness to automatons by a science based One World Government.

    Old Bert was just one brick short of a load, but the brick he skipped sure has proven to be the dooziest doozey of them all.

    He fails to mention the existence of any consciously aware individuals to do the science or feel the happiness. Without such entity the science could not be fathomed nor done. And there would be literally no one even there to feel anything at all.

    He got science and philosophy precisely back-ass-wards to each other. Science must, and can only, answer to the authority of Philosophy, not the other way around. About what to expect from an over-bred rich and arrogant old elitist like Russell.

    Roe v. Wade. I have no idea why this comes up now in the US, there might be many reasons, distraction, idk.

    A constant. When Gvmt. + Corporate + MSM control rise steeply (a form of neo-fascism, another discussion) ppl gradually or abruptly lose rights to move around, to travel (interior passports are implemented), to choose, opt in or out, of their health care, and it becomes mandatory (see COV19 vaxxes, central control of medecines, etc.)

    The control arm stretches to procreation which becomes managed, by allowing / banning / regulating: abortion, IV pregnancies, aid(s) to pregnant women like maternity leave, number of children that can get Gvmt. aid, etc. etc.

    Note that banning abortion always affects the poor as rich ppl can obtain abortions whenever they want. So it is the poor who are forced to sacrifice to the hilt to bring up a person to serviceable age (say, 15 – earlier for other purposes) while the rich can choose how/when they have children.

    See for ex. the UK’s rules penalising poor parent(s) who have a third child. (Just 2 links, not an analysis.)

    @MrHouse mad the astute observation that, “The half life of each ‘crisis’ appears to be getting shorter and shorter.”

    That is the perfect metaphor, “half life” of each crisis. That’s exactly how it’s playing out, and the concept of decaying into less, (eventually silence) as time goes forward. Perfect.

    To add, children of the poor (plus lower middle class..) are subject to a slew of contradictory views, dodgy principles, laws, rules, social policies.

    Variously, attitudes from the PTB:

    A. They are useless eaters, trash, a waste of time and money. Gvmt support should not be offered (see my links GB above, other ex. one child policy in China, now cancelled.)

    B. They are useful, as they keep parents out of any political action, as they need to work to earn money to feed the kiddos, so two children per parent(s) is good. Some support can be offered, to keep the parents tied into ‘horrid’ jobs and terrified of radical politics, crossing any lines, etc.

    C. One or two children is OK, the onus for bringing them up is the parents, then we can recruit, channel.

    D. All this guff about kiddos is a waste of time, immigration can make up for the lack of children / youth, immigrants (e.g. from Syria, see Merkel) aged 15 – 25, fed and educated by others, now here to ‘work’ is a *good* deal.

    All these positions are not public and clash in many ways, leading to confused, hesitant, sometimes contradictory policies.

    The entire article “When the Government Plays God: The Slippery Slope from Abortions to Executions” By John W. Whitehead & Nisha Whitehead – linked above, is excellent. The wide-angle view is helpful. Here are a few closing points:

    “Like clockwork, we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of yet another political circus that could get scary, ugly and overwhelming really fast.

    Before you get too distracted by this conveniently timed diversion that has everyone forgetting about spiking gas prices, inflation, housing shortages, and warring empires, remind yourself that no matter how the Supreme Court rules in Dobbs, it will not resolve the problem of a culture that values life based on a sliding scale. Nor will it help us navigate the moral, ethical and scientific minefields that await us as technology and humanity move ever closer to a point of singularity.

    Humanity is being propelled at warp speed into a whole new frontier when it comes to privacy, bodily autonomy, and what it means to be a human being. As such, we haven’t even begun to wrap our heads around how present-day legal debates over bodily autonomy, privacy, vaccine mandates, the death penalty, and abortion play into future discussions about singularity, artificial intelligence, cloning, and the privacy rights of the individual in the face of increasingly invasive, intrusive and unavoidable government technologies.

    Yet here is what I know.

    Life is an inalienable right.

    By allowing the government to decide who or what is deserving of rights, it shifts the entire discussion from one in which we are “endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights” (that of life, liberty property and the pursuit of happiness) to one in which only those favored by the government get to enjoy such rights.

    If all people are created equal, then all lives should be equally worthy of protection.”

    In response to the message (man on the space highway pic) above: Nearly everyday I wonder what I am doing here on this planet, inquire about my purpose, evaluate my progress, and then do something. My guess is that many of you do the same?

    You have to practical about abortion, it’s a matter of public health. It’s better for women to do it in a licensed facility which have to abide by safety standards than for them to fund illegal activity.

    Sure, no need to go as far as 3rd trimester unless there’s serious health problems at stake.

    De-criminalisation of abortion leads to less abortions because there is a period of reflection and the women are followed by a psychologist.

    The only problem I have is that the father is not allowed to deny the abortion.

    LMAO:
    “Polluting our information ecosystem.”
    Oh, what a beautiful tribute to George Orwell’s 1984.
    The very idea: as if it were even appropriate for a human to control the information spreading from one human to another. No, sorry, humans have the capacity to control their own mouths, their own hands, their own dress and appearance — and not that of others, with one exception. And that one exception is in the case of children, who are born with highly immature brains, and it is the duty of their parents (and extended family, tribe, community to degrees that vary from culture to culture) to cultivate an environment for the young ones that promotes healthy maturation. (We could argue endlessly on the details of the environment that provides for “healthy maturation” — but the framework is sound.)

    ~~~~~~
    The Left would suggest that unborn babies do not have constitutional rights and the only right that matters is a woman’s right to privacy in choosing whether or not to abort a pregnancy. The Right, while fixated on saving the lives of unborn babies, seems less concerned about what happens to those lives from birth to death.
    As someone who leans (classically) liberal and yet has always been horrified by the idea of a woman choosing to abort because she was careless about life (I’ve known a woman who did this repeatedly)…and at the same time holding the strong belief that the government should not be intruding into highly personal individual decisions…the abortion question is something that I have wrestled with for decades. What I finally decided is this: ultimately, keep the government out of it. The rights of the unborn child do not trump the rights of the mother; the rights of the mother do not trump the rights of a child that is viable outside of her womb. Once the child is outside of her womb, it has individual rights. Inside the womb, the fetus is not, technically, an “individual.”
    A society also cannot obligate a woman to give birth because of assumed viability of the fetus. I had 2 “high-risk” pregnancies and suffered consequences for both that without hospital intervention likely would have resulted in the death of myself and my three babes. I don’t take pregnancy and childbirth lightly. (“It’s a good thing we did that C-section. Your uterus would have burst along the prior scar had you gone into normal labor, based on what that scar looked like. You might have died from the blood loss.” Said the OB after the emergency C-section.) Pregnancy is normal and natural. Childbirth is normal and natural. And, pregnancy and childbirth are life-threats to the mother. So few women die in childbirth as compared to prior generations that I believe that this threat has been washed out of the equation.
    I welcome those who lean conservative to persuade women to carry fetuses to term — not by coercion, and not by guilt — by creating a world where women are confident that they can be mothers while still being true to themselves, where women are not obligated to hitch themselves to an unkind man in order to provide for their children, where there is no stigma for having an untraditional family, where childcare is affordable and high quality (if that is the route the mother prefers) or where mothers can work part time (because some mothers prefer not to hand off the “mothering” to others) and still make enough money to support themselves and their children financially. (I know what it is like to stay with a man because I cannot fathom how to mother and simultaneously provide a sufficient income.). The answer is not to outlaw abortion — the answer is to support women in bearing and raising their children, as the mothers themselves see fit. To the conservatives who wish a world without abortion I say: stop trying to use the state as a coercive force in this matter and focus on creating a world where women of all stripes can see motherhood as a role of fulfillment, rather than something to be feared, dreaded, full of drudgery, anxiety, sadness, and pain. Add to this excellent, inexpensive pre-natal care and child-birth support, as well as safe and easy contraception so that women are empowered to avoid pregnancy if they don’t want it.
    Abortion will never completely go away — it is sometimes medically necessary, and the woman’s current life ethically trumps the fetus’s potential life. (We love an underdog, and the fetus is the ultimate helpless “underdog,” full of positive potential — but it is inappropriate to pit the mother against the fetus.). The state cannot improve this situation by poking in its nose and attempting to become the arbiter.
    Instead of leaping to non-sequential conclusions and opinions about whether abortion should or should not be done, how about asking a question about an uncontested and unquestionable fact which PRECEDES all voluntary abortions?
    That fact is that the pregnancy is the easily foreseeable result of a male and female having sex (under the usually usual circumstance of wanting to). So WHY did she change her mind all of a sudden?
    Ya just gotta wonder. Evolution has had a LONG time to work out the bugs on getting species to procreate. Could the process be THAT wrong in how it actually works out in real practice?
    Is the instinctual drive to mate and have offspring so abysmally erroneous and janky that people will kill to avoid it? Something just doesn’t seem to add up if such is the casethe case. Maybe our species needs a new or different instinct than the one it developed over the course of the last million years or so.
    Nah. I think something else is in play here, and it probably has very little to do with expectant mothers actually WANTING to kill their fetuses.
    Well, it would appear that the reason for that big infusion the PPT did into the financial markets yesterday afternoon was to act as a cushion for today’s carnage. For, despite a multi-percent drop in all three major indexes, the DIJA managed to stay out of correction. I am once again inclined to think that the powers that be very seriously don’t want the Dow to go into correction. This is probably because if it does, a full-on bear-market in the Dow and the S&P won’t be far behind that event, and when that happens, the floodgates that all the central-bank money printing of the past six or so years have been keeping closed will be flung open, and then the games, as they say, will be very much on.
    We’re confronted by economic depression, looming financial chaos, serious currency inflation, onerous taxation, crippling regulation, a developing police state, and, worst of all, the prospect of a major war. It seems almost unbelievable that all these things could affect the U.S., which historically has been the land of the free.
    Did anybody ever read this site?
    https://www.economic-undertow.com/
    Used to have lots of good posts but now it hasn’t been updated since last year and nothing said as to why? Can anyone perhaps shine some light on the reasons?
    I’d like to point out gin the problem faced by my hospitalized patient around 1986, the one whose boyfriend told her that if she killed his baby, he would kill her. She believed it. We kept the incidental finding of pregnancy off her hospital bill and summary, and we hoped her termination went ok and was not discovered.
    There is often a predator-prey relationship between males and females in the reproductive realm. Once a female is impregnated, all of the costs and risks can be dumped on her by the male. It works, sometimes for men, and it is a low cost investment. Some men are such bad investments for a woman, that this is their standard approach, with variations.
    If a woman retains a later-termination option, she has a defense against this predatory mating.
    Predatory mating is really common in the world where I live, maybe not your world, perhaps…
    Maybe it’s others who urge us to do it.
    Maybe it’s culture, or maybe it’s hype.
    Whatever we do, it’s because we intuit
    (The deeper understanding of our purpose in this universe)
    Code of Ur-Nammu (circa XXII-XXI centuries BCE)
    Code of Hammurabi (circa XVIII century BCE)
    We have been breaking laws (almost) since day one.
    Natural laws, religious laws, fair laws, secular laws, haphazard laws, unreasonable laws, local laws, you name it: we try to break ’em all. We break laws while they are being written down.
    Why?
    What for?
    We don’t know.
    Maybe it’s that thingy/tool of mass destruction some of us call “free will” and feel so proud of.
    The “gift” which was bestowed upon us, the human “super power”, is to be thoughtless lawbreakers: we march against the Universe, we rebel against God, and yet we don’t know why; not our merit, not our fault.
    My observation is when ever governments get involved in a matter, they make it even worst than it ever was in the first place.
    Individuals know all the pros and cons of their personal situation and are thus in the best position to decide what is their best outcome.
    As Shakespeare said, “First let us kill all the lawyers”!
    I am still puzzled how a Canadian General who left for the Ukraine in early April somehow managed to sneak into the besieged Mariupol steel plant?
    Well if he did, then getting his ass caught seems fitting justice.
    The Mariupol steel plant is peaceful during the day from 8 AM to 6 PM but at night it is trick or treat time. The inmates now want food in exchange for hostages.
    Yesterday the Ukrainian War got cancelled due too a lack of Ukrainians willing to come out and play.
    Unfortunately the Russians got mad and cancelled about 900 Ukrainians.
    The US is bragging about sinking that Russian ship.
    So Biden is now escalating things.
    Things must not be going so well in the US of A then!
    Biden and the Democrats need moar war!
    That Falkland War worked out really swell for Argentina’s generals didn’t it!
    The US is bragging about sinking that Russian ship.
    That is not true. They wouldn’t dare to do/say that…
    What they did say is that they “helped” Ukraine to target the Moskva with Ukrainian AS missiles…
    Lets be careful about information when commenting…no?
    Mr House, I used to read Steve Ludlum (economic undertow blog). Idk why no more posts, he never gave a public reason (afaik.) The person to ask might be Kunstler, who quoted him a lot, and had him on for chats or whatever (I don’t recall exactly.) He was really good.
