What’s not to love?

Well put; and Varoufakis seems the only one (outside of Greece) who gets it.
Why is that? Ah, but of course; stupid human tricks…April 17, 2015 at 9:44 pm #20559rapierParticipantMay 9th is Victory Day celebrating the German defeat in WWII in Russia. In the US VE day is May 8th. VE day means little in the US but Victory Day is Russia’t biggest holiday. This year marking the 70th anniversary and with the love of round numbers a big to do is planned in Moscow. No European leaders are going of course save perhaps the Czechoslovakian President but he was told by the US Ambassador it would cause problems for his country if he went.
Kiev’s forces, now mainly militias but officially the National Guard, since the army has collapsed, have reportedly started shelling the the cities in the east again. The 300 US trainers are now there and Canada is sending 100. Both specifically have been tasked with training the National Guard. In other words it looks like we, the US and NATO are trying to force a Russian response before or around May 9th. If not then later this year it will come since it seems impossible Obama will pull back.
I’ve said before and will say again war or rumors of war with Russia is the ace in the hole for holding the EU together. Need I mention the Greek talks with Russia has been sold as them becoming a Russian ally. Then too they are Orthodox, not really European. Seen in that light it might be said the standoff between the EU and the Troika might be said to amount to a war on Greece.

2. Define GDP “growth.” It IS NOT necessarily actual sales growth of physical goods and services. It is measured in growth of dollars. An economy that sells 2 pizza for $10 in year 1 and 1 pizza $20 in year 2 had 100% GDP “growth from year 1 to year 2. This is true even though have the physical and labor resources were used in year 2 compared to year 1. An economy with a debt-money supply growing faster than GDP almost always has a shrinking physical economy even if they have a “growing” GDP.
3. Steve Keen produces an example showing how the Banksters suck in more dollars wealth renting money to society than do the workers slaving away all year… and can’t be bothered to comment on the fraud underlying such a setup even when this fact is brought out in the comment section:The Principal And Interest On Debt Myth
https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevekeen/2015/03/30/the-principal-and-interest-on-debt-myth-2/The Principal And Interest On Debt MythThe myth is correct (the Banksters do earn the interest required to pay down the debt so it is create – directly into the hands of the Banksters who created the debt out of nothing at all!), but his conclusion that, therefore, all debts are payable by all debtors and inextinguishable debt doesn’t exist is FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, AND FALSE.
