I think it is just called learning by doing! My son is that way! You can book learn him all you want but it all goes in one ear and out the other ear!

Actually it’s not quite the same; autodidact by definition is, A self taught person…
I’ve been a voracious reader my whole life and have learned many things from books; not a problem for me.
School and I were mostly out of sync when it came to interests and subjects being taught… 😉

Only if one doesn’t give a shit about credentialed degrees affirming the validity of knowledge from recongnised institutions…I don’t give that shit and never have…
So, I agree…its cool…and, most importantly, life affirming across the board……….
The educational system in the US is a corpse serving only the already dead…

WES, interesting about russia. i’ve never been there. I’m a fan of mines and grottoes and underground stuff generally. one of those childhood fascinations that persist to adulthood. heh.
