From what I’ve seen, the whole “vaccine” rollout process has been pure chaos since it started. Everyone in my circle who’s been “lucky’ enough to get one is showing off their band-aid like it was a gold star from teacher. When they ask me if I got mine yet I always respond that “I plan on being the last one in line.” “Why is that?”, they ask. “Because I’ve watched this whole pandemic process play out since last January, and I absolutely don’t trust Big Pharma and their so-called vaccines.” That’s when they get a most peculiar look on their face and I expect at any second Agent Smith is going to pop out of their skull and haul me off for interrogation.
How do you have a discussion with such people, who turn on the TV first thing in the morning to find out the reality-of-the-day and their role in it? What I’ve learned is that you don’t. Every time I make the attempt I’m reminded of Morpheus’ words to Neo during the “Red Dress” training program:

She quit / was terminated on 16 Feb 2020, facing a serious complaint from 600 or so doctors in France.
This admission, confession, came in March 2020, in public, on MSM, after her dismissal.

To be fair this one has a narrative, but struggling to decouple from it, akin to early model cars where heavy hand of horse carriage design thinking was a starting point. All other “narrative backed” paintings throughout the history are feast for the eye, no doubt, but have one think in common with abstract art and that is, (loud alarm: “coooorny!”) something like a faint “radiation-back” embedded into the pigment (again sounds corny as shit) in the process of creation. No other way to explain it. Absence of it renders work as mere illustration.Land prices are in an almost universal global frenzy bubble. There is time to buy land later when the bubble pops.
For now, one is wise to gather organic matter of all wholesome stripe while it is still mostly free and still mostly affordable to transport. Compost will be like gold by decade’s end.
Distilleries, and water/fuel to drive them and material to process in them, will be the acme of wealth by then.

I just finished a painting of a Great Egret standing still on a sawhorse on a raft in front of Pam’s houseboat. Daylight is coming on the shore just beyond. I began by trying to paint the bird and then fill in the rest. As the painting developed (over a couple of weeks), I realized that it was more about the coming of a late winter / early spring morning (this is Seattle), the first crocuses, the greenery, etc., the Egret’s awareness just a part of the whole.

A friend’s friend has her kids signed up for mRNA vax trials. Moderna is hungry for kids to complete its trials, and – surprise – is having trouble getting people to sign them up. This task gets outsourced to those places that advertise on TeeVee for filling up clinical trials you’ve probably seen the adverts with the sonorous voice: “If you’re a healthy nonsmoker and like hot meals and a lot of doting attention from people wearing lab coats and maybe have low ego-boundaries and waaaayyy more faith in the medical industry than it’s actually earned…” You can get $1500 per head for signing your kid up for a pharmaceutical made using a new manufacturing technique with essentially no long-term track record of safety that could (probably not, but just a chance, nobody really knows) impact their health for the rest of their lives. Not just good data or data suggesting no concerns – simply no data. (well ok a little data but “NO DATA” sounds punchier.)
The first human mRNA vax trial only ended in 2017 (rabies, PMID #28754494). And it was – wait for it – conducted on all of 101 people. Any long-term reaction, anything that might happen in the “tails” of the distribution of the human health condition, outside a cohort of generally healthy 18-40 year olds would be missed by such a tiny trial. Any long-term (years) effects – even serious ones, and especially ones with a low rate of occurrence – would be missed. Human trials of mRNA have all been quite small – nothing like the throngs of fear-addled, lockdown-weary, low-information folks now lining up by the millions for the jab. This research took me all of about 5 minutes. I try to explain all this to people – you know that informed-consent idea that makes me so old fashioned and out of touch and (gasp) paranoid. Our modern miracle media medical complex seems uninterested so I’ll do my part for the people I care about, All I’m asking for is informed consent – a pretty low bar – but I can’t do people’s thinking for them I can barely do my own

I am watching “The Looming Tower” on Hulu. Long ago, I concluded that the two-decade global war on terror (GWOT) was not in the best interests of Americans and the wars unwinnable. But to be exposed to Al Qaeda’s powerful and moving propaganda of self-sacrifice for one’s family and religion is shocking.

Right on. But they now act with impunity! 20, 25 years ago a Buzyn (whom I wrote about above) who told such lies or “made such catastrophic mistakes” might even have been prosecuted (in France) though the penalties would have been symbolic, she would have been barred from public life. No more – she gets a cushy job at the WHO with no doubt a huge salary (perk: she won’t be domiciled in France so will not be liable for any taxes there or anywhere else) and this is her reward for being part of the in-crowd or on the right side, etc. It is disgusting.
