October 7, 2024 at 10:24 am #170778Dr D RichParticipantHere’s why Assnge immediately ((didn’t happen)) left the Ecuadorean Embassy a free man:
Also notice that it was the Obama Justice Department that dropped all attempts to indict Assange as there are no legal grounds for his indictment, and that it was the Trump Justice Department that reopened the case under CIA pressure
“Dropped all attempts to indict” doesn’t mean what the reader infers nor what writer implied. Pres. Barack didn’t issue Assange a Blanket Presidential Pardon in Perpetuity either. Astute observers felt Obama’s “gesture” to Assange in a contemporary fashion was a cynical lure to draw him “voluntarily” out of embassy and or travel to the United States. Assange and now PCR citing that bizarre useless fact after his release seems to be an even more unusual “gesture” without substantive meaning.
Assange’s loss of the sense of time after his sustained abuse by the Brits is understandable but Paul Craig Roberts deserves no such pass (((or whatever writes for PCR)))
In other news from Paul Craig Roberts, freshly elected President Barack Obama was pre-issued the Nobel Peace Prize before he personally closed GITMO and ordered all prisoners released.. ………………………(birds chirping)………………………………………………………… in January 2009.
Executive Order 13492, titled Review and Disposition of Individuals Detained at the Guantánamo Bay Naval Base and Closure of Detention Facilities, is an Executive Order that was signed by United States President Barack Obama on 22 January 2009, ordering the closure of the Guantanamo Bay
Obama and his ongoing clandestine presidency are one continuous expression of “superficial niceties and surface pieties to which we all can assent because they are empty, insipid and safe”
We certainly don’t want to ruffle the feathers of progress or else nothing would ever be accomplished.
October 7, 2024 at 10:25 am #170779Dr. DParticipant““We’re gonna win, and he’s gonna reach Mars by the end of our term, which is a big thing, before China, before anybody. My money’s on that guy [Musk].”
So it’s not okay to house humans and migrants in a NYC hotel for big bucks while NC gets the shaft, but it IS okay to go to Mars on the ultimate vanity project while people in NC get the shaft. Right. We’ve got a lot of stuff to do here on earth before we have time and bandwidth to go screw up some other planet, you want to explain the weird bug you have about this?
How about this: from the far corners of the Internets, the Galactic Council, of the Esteemed Galactic Federation, which is for Peace and Right, (but does f—k all for anyone), says, “Our Prime Directive says we can’t intervene until you become an interplanetary culture.” Wait: what? According to you we ALREADY have aliens here, who took over the earth years ago, but now are still in the nooks and crannies, directing our psycho politicians with secret alien high technology. THEY are interfering, but you won’t Un-Interfere THEIR interference? Sounds like you all are a bunch of lazy, rule-dodging f—ks. But whatever. We already made it to the moon, is that not “Interplanetary”? We probably have tic-tacs reverse engineered as a secret but not public travel, and have probably been there on the Moon, Mars, and Iapetus for decades. Doesn’t that count? No? Has to be public? And you’re SURE you’re not just going to change the rules all over again tomorrow and say we need a warp drive and to go interstellar?
Fine! If us going to Mars will get you guys to admit you’re here, that all this is real, fine. We’ll go to Mars.
That’s how you know they’re from the Government, even a Galactic Government: they’re useless, immoral, impractical, and do nothing but talk while telling OTHER people to work, who are getting non-stop shot in the trenches. Fine.
…Just a thought, which would actually explain this otherwise inexplicable nonsense. There’s nothing on Mars. It’s dead. Even to live there, you’d have to live in deep caves and never visit the surface. Sound nice? Cheaper just to do that here.
“We’re gonna win, and he’s gonna reach Mars by the end of our term,”
Sounds like losing to me. How about you plant a tree back here in Asheville? Great reason not to vote for them.
“Former President Barack Obama is stepping in to save the day, as he’ll start hitting the campaign trail”
Everybody O has ever campaigned for has lost. Bigly. Israel, England, etc. So I say do it!
“High-water vehicles have been sent to Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.”
Otherwise known as a jacked-up dual pickup truck owned by Florida man.
Anyway, thinking about NC and “Helping” there, logistics, when YOU go there, you CAUSE a problem. Why? Say there are 3,000 bodies, no sewer, no water in town. Now all the helpers arrive and there are 6,000 bodies, still no food, no water in town. We don’t usually think about it, but YOU are a liability, drawing on these resources, even though, yes, you brought in a tent and a gas can. See what I mean? The Military deals with a lot of logistics like this, but the first logistic is feeding and housing your own Seabees, BEFORE anything else can be done. Now I’m sure they know what they’re doing and this is helping or they’d say so, but you think a fresh body adds 100% when they only add 20% because them being there, with their own truck, sucks 80% of what they brought. Or something.
Best thing to do – but this requires immense trust and planning – is to drive in from Baltimore, drop your pallets, and drive away, trusting the people already on the ground there are up to speed, don’t need fresh training, and have it in hand. You showing up with a flashlight may or may not be a help until basic services function on a doubled-up human load.
Again, I’m sure they’re familiar and have this figured out, I’m just making the point of large numbers.

Never stop speaking. So the 50-year-old Hillary says she wants to end free speech, they are going to take out Kamala, and reminds us all about pizzagate, etc. when it was forgotten, in the face of Kamala + P Diddy. Um, sure. When I’m re-electing Nixon I never stop talking about Watergate and claim Nixon will probably be removed.

Okay, if we’re bringing up that old timey music like Pizzagate, Assange is free. Like I said, although it took way longer. Now he can still go under oath before a (Republican) Congress. …Or just reveal the rest of Hillary’s emails from the gold coast. Not sure why gate latches are so fascinating, but a lot of these are CGI and wouldn’t work worth a hoot. For many reasons, usually because they are designing the closing and not the opening, but often arrange materials in fragile ways, or ways that would bind if they weren’t perfect. (like weather or sagging) So the larger takeaway here is tradition has its own intelligence, and you can’t reinvent the wheel. We do things the way we do them for a reason. That’s not to say we shouldn’t try this, but go talk to some guys and ask, you’ll see they add a dozen more parameters you didn’t think of typing on a keyboard in perfect conditions in an HVAC office, having never seen a 2×4 in real life before.
Put hands on and make a dozen of these. Let me know what you think and if people like them. It’s easy to SAY things (like this CAD proposal) it’s hard to DO things, like make and install them at cost.
October 7, 2024 at 11:05 am #170780tbocParticipantin 1963 one of my mentors was a USAF Air Commando. During the time I spent with the man and his family he told me what was really happening in Viet Nam. I would go to school and my parents would watch television news and the difference between the real and the narrative seemed surreal to a twelve year old boy.
I have that same sense today. The main difference between now and then is there is a cornucopia of narratives and none have any connection to each other or the foundation of life, existence within this solar system. The other difference is that in the earlier time people cared whether or not they were dealing with the real. Today the intellectual focus of the masses is so narrow there is no way for them to have anything but a subjective world view. Self censoring hedonism might be an apt description of the moment. Individuals seek most that which gives them discomfort mired in dissatisfaction with their social status and censor themself by limiting their field of perception. A perfect synthesis of Orwell and Huxley? Surreal.
(The foundation of life, existence in this solar system is the microbiome.)

A congressional investigation uncovered concerns about Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence in cranes at U.S. ports, pointing to the discovery of surveillance equipment and ties to China’s military, which poses a national security threat to U.S. shipping infrastructure.
Uncovered “concerns”, not evidence, not reality, but concerns from the brain of some paranoid welk hanging onto their job for dear life, in Congress Investigations. I wonder who does these Congress Investigations, probably someone like Ernst and Young and they get their child care kindergarten to draw the solution.
Every fucking crane in every port has cameras, that is how the person operating the crane does the job. The children at Ernst and Young will not know that, but you would think the managing partners would have a clue. As for Congress, they never had a clue, too busy sniffing ass like a dog looking for money.
October 7, 2024 at 11:55 am #170782Dr. DParticipantFrom yesterday: that went better than expected.
“What a list!
Here it is:”A list of the only people who post anymore anyway? Yeah, we posted, just like yesterday and the day before.
“former CEO Howard Schultz had violated labor laws by telling a union-supporting employee, “if you’re not happy at Starbucks, you can go work for another company,”
You have to understand, this is all about Power. The paradigm is Power. The religion of Power. That’s Socialism, as I see all the time, the politics of Power, and Power alone. The only thing that matters when two people talk, is POWER. There is no equality. No equality under the law. And this extends to race and gender stereotypes as enforced with the hammer of law. If I talk to Oprah or Hillary, THEY are the victim, because: Man. POWER. So in this case, this boss said, “Hey, you can always work somewhere else” a perfectly true comment, but ALSO benign, ordinary, and germane. But because EXISTENCE of Power, ANYTHING he says is bad, because it is perceived through the lens of POWER. He could say, “Hey, nice shirt!” He could say, “I feel like a coffee” and it would all be abuse. Real, actual, literal violence. With words. …And this seems normal to them, from the 19 year old Freshman, to the Supreme Court. There is no equality under the law, there is only POWER. That’s this case in a nutshell.
Don’t bother pointing it out, it’s invisible for them. I mean, I may have to as public duty, but they’re not going to change. Too busy being victims, as it comes from their personal FEEEEEEELing of powerlesness…which they’re not. They’re grown -ss adults. Quit whining.
See? Now I appreciated Aspnaz’ point of view on China. Yeah. I know. But all cultures are squeaky clean and functional when they first get rich and are right off the farm. We were like that too. Everyone knows that, but that’s not the problem. The problem is “what comes next”? I hope you’re not proposing that China isn’t subject to the wheel of history because they’re the “Exceptional Nation” of “exceptional people”, but I don’t think you are. It’s just move to a place that’s on the upcycle, why hang out in a nation during it’s downcycle where living is hard and you’re not wanted?
Simple enough. Your sportsball team from your geographical location is more on the up than our sportsball team from our geographical location. Is that saying we’re stupid and immoral because history exists? “We’ll see” as the Buddhist story goes.
One child policy was a long time ago. It may have “worked” as well, although they may have learned something from the many bad consequences. Who knows?
I don’t opine on China because it’s huge and hard to know what goes on there, possibly even for the Chinese. If we in America were doing all the things we should, they wouldn’t be a problem. And as Trump says, can’t blame them if out leaders WANT to be bribed to give the whole nation away. That’s not China’s fault.
The question here as I’ve said is, the bankers want to suck China in and get them dependent, then cut them off like they have hundreds of nations over the centuries. Will that work this time? Probably, but as China is like us in the…I dunno, pick a time, the 1890s…they are too powerful and organized with no internal decay to collapse on right now. But they’re not invulnerable, nor are they especially moral. They’re just like we are, merely doing business in Africa with very little political … chains, however I expect like all nations, once they get a persistent upper hand they will use it and be the new colonizer, new boss same as the old boss. At that point the shiny-new will be worn off and they’ll need money to fill the holes back home, then take it from Africa where it used to be fair. That’s the wheel of history but decades off in the future, perhaps after all of us.
We’re at the other side of the wheel. So what I’m saying is, does that REALLY mean we’re immoral and stupid and does it REALLY mean China is moral and capable? Yes. …But also no.

October 7, 2024 at 4:41 pm #170818jb-hbParticipantEven Navy EWS/Spy Planes are ending up crashed on reefs (all-female air crew …pictures of salvage efforts show an all-male crew)
Not Hitting Reefs is not a new thing. Toilers of the Sea is about avoiding and failing to avoid reefs – apparently Victor Hugo, in 1866, was aware of this one weird trick where you know where the reefs are and avoid them. Sometimes you get blown on them by a storm though. A navy ship, with its super advanced propulsion system, sensors, and GPS has no excuse IN TOTALLY CLEAR WEATHER.
Nor is the skill of not rolling off the end of a runway a new one.
Basic skills like navigation, driving around instead of through reefs, landing and coming to a stop on a landing strip… there are tons of materials one can study and drill with. Hell, you can set up a very realistic flight simulator at home nowadays and practice landing – or taxiing if you need to work on THAT – for hours a day at home, if you like. On a simulation of the very place you need to land, even! I bet there’s a ship navigator sim – for logging time for commercial navigators if nothing else.
So you felt you didn’t have enough opportunities? But then you GOT the job! …but you aren’t actually prepared for the job??? SO then you… what?
Not only are they not prepared, they don’t seem to be interested in becoming prepared once they get the position. Or they didn’t even know enough about their position to know what to learn? (can’t you find out what to learn?) Or don’t know enough about proficiency to know they HAVE to learn? Or they know about proficiency but just aren’t interested in it, rather be in the position non-proficient? I don’t get it.
Remember there was that con man in the news awhile back who posed as a surgeon? Pulled in 6 figures for YEARS without anyone catching him. But his surgeries were WORKING! Less of a con man than these DEI hires, less of a con man than everyone running FEMA.
Remember that bridge that IMMEDIATELY collapsed the moment it was put up at FIU (in Florida) a few years back, killed a whole bunch of people? I can find tons of video of it collapsing, memorials and vigils for victims afterwards, and a Snopes video “debunking” the idea that a female team created the bridge design.
What I cannot find is a video I repeatedly watched back when it happened of the commencement celebration on AS the bridge was being set up in the background. Tons of people being interviewed – the architect, various city and college authorities involved in making the bridge happen, various random people also being questioned for man-on-the-street perspective on this grand bridge erection — it was a half hour of neverending DEI sludge pouring out of all of their mouths. ALL of them going on and on endlessly about how amaaaaaazing the bridge is because women, proud of their choice of architect because women etc. It was overdone – like an SNL skit mocking DEI, only real. That video has disappeared into the ether. That’s debunked!
The Architect herself had zero to say about functional matters, problem-solving, any technical accomplishments in interviews leading up to her bridge collapsing. She was focused solely on the artistic merits of the bridge — “You see, it symbolizes origami!” Typically 15-30 min of word salad on this topic if you ask her. But she designed the STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS to “look like origami” in the sense that they were all very sharp pointy isosceles triangles all of various widths, focusing load-bearing stresses on very specific narrow points of the bridge instead of spread evenly, supported by triangles made to not do what triangles normally do in engineering.
Why the structural supports had to resemble origami rather than building a reasonably sane structure and adding an artistic origami facade, idunno. Such a facade would have been totally justifiable to shield pedestrians from the sun in the Florida summer. But anyway, that’s why it fell, because its structure successfully resembled origami.
She was so SUPER proud of “making it symbolize origami” because that’s artistic, when you make a thing “symbolize” another thing??? I’m not sure that word means what you think it means. Like, if you are vacuous, have no actual aesthetic statement to make, then imagine one thing “means” another thing? And THAT will be “symbolism”? Transforming your doodle into a deep artistic statement?
This does sort of smack of the Marxist creating a “new vocabulary” – thinking it is awesome to have words get parallel meanings. The Cool Kids all think/talk this way, I guess? When X word ackshully means Y word, that’s deep. My shitty zigzag bridge “means” origami?
So what killed a bunch of people and wasted millions of dollars was… DEI plus “symbolism”?
remember women being awesome?
There’ll be a woman hero (flees theatre screaming)
The pilot and copilot are women (debarking plane immediately with extreme prejudice)
Bridge designed by a woman! (calling paramedics)
All female cruise ship crew! (man the lifeboats!)The new millennium seems to be all about making women insufferable. Like you hear a woman will be involved, you get a headache, cancel all your plans, fuck no I will just stay home. Women deciding the same thing when they hear!
I came across and watched an old Republica video that makes me feel like I am downloading the entire 90’s into my head ala Johnny Mnemonic while having an epileptic seizure.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgffRW1fKDkFunny thing – the through-theme of the video is that she is “being annoying” – being an overly rambunctious spazz while her bandmates are trying to relax in an easy chair. And she’s super-likeable, adorable even. How did hollywood forget how to make that work? She made it look as easy as making ramen noodles WHILE being very competent at her actual vocal job.
How many WOMEN are at the point , current year, of, when they hear “In xyz thing, a woman is going to be centered…” get a huge instant headache, gripping their head, announce agh. jesus. fuck no. we’re staying in tonight.
But there’s been a woman that was awesome at any number of things. Maybe not house demolition or north sea oil drilling, but quite a lot of things. Remember women being awesome??
There are so many pat phrases I could explain it with. DEI sucks man. The elites have lost touch with reality, so their belief systems have lost touch as well. And certainly it is widespread, everywhere, affecting hundreds of billions (trillions!) of dollars, millions of lives, millions of future lives. (hundreds of millions)
But what are the mechanics of this thing? What specifically is happening inside peoples’ heads causing this?
