“Hard to get” game that they play is precursor of general attitude toward the employee. In my mind it is the sign of general broken “unspoken contract” – aka, even the resemblance of the fair game.

My old call center pre-jab won multiple JD Power awards for best in class. I’ve realized that the particular culture built up at that center was special, rare. As crappy as some leadership members were, overall, it was a culture that tended to value integrity sometimes. Pre merger, even the HR people were straight shooters with integrity! And seemed to be distinctly different people. Post merger, the Janet Reno clones came in. How do they produce them, where is their factory, what supply chain feeds into it?
Culture beats corporation – culture can even live INSIDE a corporation. A sick culture outside of corporation is still sick. The small business was so small that a SINGLE person (possibly 2, I have my suspicions) made it hell for everyone. Oddly, I lived in a relatively healthy culture that survived for decades INSIDE a sick corporative structure, Janet Reno HR Lady clones and all.
But in the end, either they kicked people out for NOT taking the notavax or they got laid off 10 months after taking it. I’ve wondered. That culture is gone, empty building, empty parking lot – but the diaspora OF that culture – are we infecting 100 other call centers with integrity, now that we are all spread out, scattered?
