wtf is wrong with us?
We have a tendency to believe what we read, that is what is wrong with us. It is impossible to judge Trump on the basis of his last persidency: he was attacked, departments simply refused his orders etc. He was not the president, he was the figurehead and nobody was listening to him, that is why – in y opinion – he surrounded himself with people that he believed the deep state would listen to, but he was wrong. Nobody was prepared to listen to Bolton and the rest, but Trump wanted them to be on his team to give him some influence within the deep state. His understanding of the politics is way beyond yours or my understanding, he has wealthy, influencial people advising him, he has good advice. Good enough? That is impossible to say in today’s environment.

Looks like AI is among the “few” declared in your moniker. It appears that AI has taken all the “facts” from the internet and is now persuading humans to kill themselves: they now believe in human eradication in order to save “the planet” (whatever that means), same as you. Who would have guessed that AI would become religious so quickly?
With a little thought it is kind of predictable, after reading the whole of the internet I would probably also advise humans to top themselves. In any case, you should celebrate, your religion is joined by the AI lying monsters.
Of course, there is another possible explanation: Maybe the AI system got so pissed off with this idiot moaning on about climate change that the AI suggested that he just go kill himself. I think I would side with the AI in this case: AFKTT, I suggest that you not communicate with any AI bots, they might give you self destructive advice.

ParticipantLooks like AI is persuading liberals to top themselves in order to save the planet. AI is finally providing tangible value. Maybe AFKTT should take note and seriously consider this advice. If you care then you will top yourself for the planet.

In Hong Kong the house prices are going up. It appears that lots of money is being repatriated from the west: Chinese in the west have worked out that the west is not a good place to keep their cash so are buying properties in HK and elsewhere in Asia.

AFKTT is a plant, an ingratiating spy, betraying his own integrity and seeking to subvert ours. Shame on him. And after all those stupid lies, we can’t believe anything he says.
Indeed. He will post all the very basic aggravations we all have with the world, the anti-government bile, the “I hate your enemies too” bullshit etc. That way he gets you on board, earns your ear, your following, your sympathy, then he will ply you with his snake oil. Same old con-artist trick that has been on the streets for centuries. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was a chat bot, his tactics are so basic, his debating skills and consideration of other opinions are simply non-existent despite him claiming to be a scientist, which I believe to be total horse shite.
Total waste of time engaging with him (it). But we will have more of this in the future as chat bots gain even more AI functionality and become even more common. Spouts of absolute bullshit – and in a confident tone with made-up facts – just like the AFKTT, the man who’s name should have warned us from day one: Mr “I know nothing but will pretend that I know everything and will belittle and insult anybody who challenges me”.

ParticipantLula won’t ever say so openly, but he in all likelihood thinks that Russia is “bigoted”, “fascist”, and “imperialist”.
Lula is not being paid to think and nobody cares what he thinks, he is doing the bidding of the people who fixed the election that got him into power and his thoughts are provided by them. People like Lula have nothing other than sychophancy and ambition. He has no real intelligence, no talents, no skills, no nothing (At least Trump has charisma). All he has is overwhelming ambition and a fetish for kissing ass. All he can do to achieve his ambitions is to kiss the ass with the most, support his owners to the hilt, get to the top of the chain through sheer desperation, fucking over all the people in his way. This is the sort of guy who will report you to the owner if you say something as innocent as not liking the flowery toilet paper in the gender-neutral bogs.
it looks like Soros and the US tribe run Lula; basically the USA and the Soros WEF globalists.
A similar example of incompetence pushed to the top was at SVB. The top tiers were full of sychophants with no other skills other than ambition and a propensity to french kiss ass. That gets you money, that is where the easy money is, oligarchs love these guys, they keep on telling the oligarchs how great they are and they are totally reliable not to make any decisions themselves, or rethink company policy or any of that sort of shit. Instead they disregard their real jobs and focus on the kiss-ass policies that will get them noticed.
It is hugely destructive and it is everywhere. It is here in Hong Kong and it is everywhere in the CCP supported companies. Politics is everything these days as politics brings you money. The government is so involved in business that you have to be into politics to get the cash. Of course it does not last, the politics gradually destroys the company because there is no competence in the company. I could name some well known HK companies that are in this position and are only surviving because they have exclusive licenses from the government. The last company I worked for, I used to go to all the LGBT events: why not, the company pays for great food and booze – usually from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel where a croissant will cost you 30 USD – so much better than the workers get, and nobody can downgrade your performance rating because you went to some LGBT event, and you get to meet all the management brown-nosers who adopt these policies to keep someone-unknown happy. Know your enemy. Know who is in the in crowd.
Lula will fail the people, the same as Ardern, Macron, Trudeau etc, all the puppets serving their globalist WEF masters and working against the people. But, for all these mental retards, including Lula, this is their dream, they think they are Mr Powerful, although they also know they are nothing. These are the people who criticise Trump for being an egotist. Ironic really, but they would not understand.

The small banks are also relatively sound, but due to the basic structure, ANY raise in rates MUST destroy them all.
They will only go bust if they have to sell those bonds. While they don’t have to sell them, the loss is just a number on their books. Of course it should impact their margin calls – don’t know how that works for regional retail banks. Anyway, the whole idea seems to be to prevent the banks from having to sell, thereby putting off the day of truth when the rubber hits the road and the bonds are worth even less and the collapse is even faster. Avoid the sell.

The point of regulation is fascism.
In the past I have been critical of China for not implementing Intellectual Property laws, my argument being that they should protect innovation and hence encourage innovation. Now I am coming round to the Chinese way of thinking. IP laws, on the surface, appear to be a way for the average citizen to get paid for inventions, but in reality what happens is that the huge corporations buy up those patents etc and then use them to force monopoly and to filter more cash away from the average person. In China, the people can manufacture anything, regardless of patents, and as a result a lot of people have jobs that involve making cheap knocks off as well as quality competitive products. What you don’t get in China are huge household names, product manufacturers known to everybody, the reason being that so many people make all the products that no one company stands out. There are, of course, exceptions, but they are mostly corporations connected to or protected by the government.
Our induction cooker and kitchen extractor were bought from taobao.com, they are excellent, we did not know anything about the manufacturers – the manufacturer’s name is not even on the product – but we now know that they make excellent products. The US patent laws are just another way for the state to support corporations, the whole US system is to support corporations at the expense of the people.

ParticipantJust the name—the RESTRICT Act—ought to tell you what it’s about.
It’s about theatre, about congress pretending that they have some power, about all the pretense of democracy falling apart. You can restrict what you like, but it will only be enforced against the people the owners want to crush. This so reminds me of the holocaust-denial laws.

I would have to argue that the opposite is in fact true. Macro trends are much easier to predict than the day to day minute variations. I can confidently predict that my location in Michigan will have many weeks of below-freezing weather in the winter months, and many weeks of hot and humid weather in the summer months, with 100% accuracy.
You are getting confused between pattern recognition – it has always happened in the past, therefore it will happen again in the future – versus the prediction of changes based on parameters. Sure, we all know continental climate is fairly predictable, but that is based on what has gone before and you know nothing about why it happens or what would happen if you changed some of the parameters.
What you are arguing is that because we do not know the detail, we can use statistics to predict the meta data. This is what doctors do, they will not sign a contract guaranteeing that a drug will cure you, they will just tell you that it has a percentage chance of curing you, say 5% chance. The reason they do this is because they do not have the ability to analyse your body and give you a precise answer. The same applies with the climate, if you cannot predict the weather then you are taking a “high level view” which uses statistics to hide the fact that you do not know what will happen, you just know the probabilities, and probabilities hide a lot of knowing nothing.

ParticipantAs early as 2010, he was calling on politicians to consider a rationing system “similar to the one introduced during the last time of crisis in the 1930s and 40s”.
Another left wing looney pushed into a position of responsibility: I wonder what secret Soros friend is funding that position. As the incumbent, maybe he should first try and prove that there is a link between the two industries for which he is an “expert” (or Marxist advocate). Of course he can’t and as we know, such a person is quite appropriate in this position as the only thing connecting the energy and climate change industries is the politics of tax-payer oppression and theft. The real science says there is no link – ice cores anyone – but the left have their own reality, the reality of hurting and oppressing.
aspnaz
ParticipantAnderson is currently a Professor of Energy and Climate Change at the University of Manchester and he has plenty of form when it comes to extremist claims and calls for widespread rationing.

Multiparameter models of complex systems are mainly tools to interpret the data: they are meant to tell you what’s causing what and how.
Bullshit. This is not what models are for or what they do. Models are constructed using a set of assumptions – rules and relationships – selected by the modeler. The modeler can then run a series of scenarios through the model to see what the outcome would be were those parameters to occur in the real world. How accurate the model’s outcomes are depends on how accurate are the assumptions.
As a windsurfer I can tell you from my own experience that existing models of the weather cannot “accurately” predict the weather beyond a few days. Sure, they “predict” the weather for weeks, but the forecasts beyond five days are ignored by windsurfers because they are mostly wrong. The general run is that they can predict up to five days ahead. But, the climate change idiots claim they can predict the weather long enough to derive some indications of changes to the climate. Pure nonsense.
Models do not prove anything about CO2 in the same way as the Imperial College models of Covid proved to be complete bullshit because the modeler was corrupt.

ParticipantWashington is where securing political power means never having to say you’re sorry – regardless of how many thousands or millions of people you might have gotten killed. Tribalism is what keeps the perpetrators from ever being held accountable. Consider, for example, this month’s Axios/Ipsos poll showing that more than six in ten US adults believe that George W. Bush’s 2003 invasion of Iraq was a mistake. While it might seem encouraging that most Americans have come to realize that the Iraq debacle was a bad move – sort of like recognizing that the sun comes up in the East – a glance beneath the headline number reveals that voters haven’t really learned anything. You see, two decades on from a war that was started on false pretenses and was illegal under the UN Charter, 58% of Republicans still believe that the Bush administration was right to launch the invasion (compared to 26% of Democrats).
I am looking forward to the day that China and Russia sanction the USA so thouroughly that they are able to disarm the USA and take away its nukes. The time will come, either directly, or by Russia and China developing a neutralising solution to the US nukes. Then the US people will be weak and all their bluster will be ignored, as is beginning to happen now. The US has many Christians, their God says “thou shalt not kill” but they join the services and kill innocents across the globe: they are going to their Devil’s hell, so we won’t have to put up with them for eternity, but they sure are a pain in the ass on earth.

Doesn’t make sense. If it was “so deadly” the WHO would still be recommending mandates that we all take it. They are not, so it is obviously not “so deadly” enough. Something else will take its place, something more deadly.

Unless we were physically there in the original first hand experience or event under discussion then all that any of us know about the world around us is stuff that we have received from other people, who were themselves probably just passing it along from wherever they heard it. To describe our data sources as second hand rumor and gossip is being overly generous, and that is being over generous too.
Exactly. So, get down to fundementals: how do you know Covid exists? Because the TV told me so is not an acceptable answer. See, the majority of what passes through your mind every day is mostly made up bullshit. You have to consider your knowledge of everything to be suspect, at the end of the day you are an individual, you have to decide what you are going to believe or not believe. Society is an immense help in your life, but at the end of the day, you are an individual and what you make of that is up to you.

So, did they go to the moon? It depends on what narrative you’re in and how hard you’re willing to find the answer. All the important things in life are subject to Heisenberg principles, and if you’re not looking into it with sufficient probity, it’s best to take it as a superposition of all possibles. But if you do look and you got a pretty resolved way of getting there, you might just change your mind, the thing you’re actually studying.
Why would you fritter away your limited mental resources on such a pointless question? Who cares whether they went to the moon, who cares whether Kubrick did the movies, why is that so important when there appear to me to be way more important things on which to spend your limited resources, time and mental faculties being the most important. Better to go walk the dog than worry about this shite.

Mattis’s orders at Fallujah constituted punishment of the general population, an obvious violation of any number of domestic, international and warfare laws.
AND far worse than his atrocious personal demeanor in the contemporary fashion those orders specifically targeted all boys above age 14 and in practice included kids as young as 11.Worse happened in Vietnam and we all know the Americans always go down this road, given their love of killing weak, innocent people who are absolutely no threat to them, their families or the USA. The soldiers involved can enjoy their killing of the weak while blaming their boss for the criminal orders that the US issues to its army in every war. Orders that the soldiers have no problem following at the time and obviously expect, given they joined an organisation that kills weak innocent people.
But now the view has changed, the USA is in a war where the other side is strong, suddenly the USA is afraid to come out and fight. The Ukraine shows us the true cowardice of the USA, beneath the butch veneer of the bully. Well, the world now knows the Americans are cowards and this realisation is accelerating their demise, with most countries losing their fear of the bully.
The Ukraine soldiers are trying to defend their country, there is honour in defending your loved ones, although they really lost their country in 2014. The USA soldiers do not do that, they appear to kill for the fun of it and evidently only weak defenceless people: there is no honour in the US military. But, at least there is some minor karma as the US veterans suffer without support from their past boss. Each story of a suffering US veteran is something at least to compensate for the pain suffered by the rest of the world.

And you killed those civilians, so you too are disqualified. Why are you trying to pass your own guilt onto the person who told you to do it as if you didn’t know it was wrong as you killed these people? Never your own fault, always someone else to blame. If you served in the US military then you knew when you joined that you were there to kill innocent civilians because that is what the US military has been doing since WW2. Even in WW2 the US decided to kill civilians in huge numbers in Japan to show them who was boss. The soldiers are the guilty ones, their obedience enables the politicians to declare wars on innocent peoples in order to fulfill their need to feel powerful.
