Russia has eschewed GMO’s intoto; and is following organic growing practices.
Worlds leading exporter of wheat.
China will pay a huge price for adopting GMO’s; just ask Indian farmers; or mid-western U.S. wheat farmers; disasters both…
So far Thailand has resisted GMO’s; we’ll se what the future brings…It’s interesting; Greece is being intentionally destroyed by the very same powers destroying the U.S. and England. The neo-liberalocons are targeting all countries with intrinsic wealth and privatising it for the inevitable plunder.
It’s so obvious from the outside looking in; I don’t think the inside majority see it, not really.
And, those that do are powerless to stop it.May 23, 2017 at 10:19 am #34233V. ArnoldParticipantGrrr; And, those WHO do, are powerless to stop it.
May 23, 2017 at 11:43 am #34234Dr. DiabloParticipantGosh, what have multinational corporations ever done that China wouldn’t trust their every word?
May 23, 2017 at 2:13 pm #34235Ken BarrowsParticipantWhy should Greece “grow?” Why should any country? If industrial society is a losing proposition, why adopt its language? Unfortunately, neither Greece nor any other country has the fortitude to shift direction. Guess Greeks think industrial society can save them. Good luck.
May 23, 2017 at 5:54 pm #34236Raúl Ilargi MeijerKeymasterThe case of Greece is a little different from most. Having shrunk 27%, they could ‘grow’ 10% and do well with that. Greece needs money to flow through its veins. To keep businesses open that simply sell simple daily necessities to Greeks; the minimum requirements to keep functioning are being destroyed right now. there is no reason or justification for that. Unless you want to buy up all they have for pennies on the buck.
May 23, 2017 at 5:56 pm #34237Raúl Ilargi MeijerKeymasterThe Chinese people are very much anti-GMO, quasi hysterically so. That Syngenta move will have to be shoved down their throats with force.
May 23, 2017 at 6:32 pm #34238NomanisanislandParticipantRe GMO’s China will carry out a nationwide poll….. that will be accurate and trustworthy data I’m 100% confident
May 23, 2017 at 11:21 pm #34239NassimParticipantThe Chinese should get the sugar out of their diet. Like the Indians, they are descendants of survivors of famines and they cannot handle surplus sugar well.
The looming public health crises threatening to take down China’s health care system
There seem to be some bright young Chinese in Beijing who prefer to grow their own food.

However, it is not unknown of the BBC to try and give a bad image of China so I have no idea how widespread this activity is.
May 24, 2017 at 3:57 am #34240dko132ParticipantGreece is ok! Why don’t you try to visit Bulgaria and stop crying about the overextended greek.
May 24, 2017 at 4:38 am #34241V. ArnoldParticipantdko132
Greece is far from “okay”, you are mis-informed. Ilargi has written extensively, documenting life on the ground in Greece for at least 2 years now.
This is not to say Bulgaria doesn’t need help; Ilargi is just one private citizen, and made his choice.May 24, 2017 at 12:59 pm #34256Raúl Ilargi MeijerKeymasterGreece will get a lot worse. Bulgaria may be poor, but it is not being strangled by Berlin, Brussels and their banks. It doesn’t have 60,000 refugees on its soil either.
May 24, 2017 at 1:01 pm #34257Raúl Ilargi MeijerKeymasterYes, with the GMO deals coming, ironically China, like America, is on its way to high fructose corn syrup and mass obesity.
