Our host, Mr Meijer seems to be engaged in similar mental gymnastics on the topic of the Iran conflict, which really puzzles me.
Research the ethnic origins of the surname Meijer and you will become less puzzled. The function of the war is sometimes to be at war.
There are emergency powers. There is compliance. there are “reasons you can’t fix things today”.
This war is about resources and financial regimes, and the underlying mismatches grow worse by the day.

The correct response to the invitation to wage war is to simply not take up the offer. Simply don’t do it. Don’t wage war. At all. Don’t use force and violence to make other people not do it (violent force) to others or to you and your loved ones.
I resolve to begin doing that, starting right now. I am not doing war and I aim to keep it that way, regardless of danger. I am not only not doing it. I don’t even want to do it. I do not want to use force and violence to make someone else do anything against their will.
I am not wanting to wage war to make other people stop doing it. I will ask them, and tell them in no uncertain terms (!!!) how bad enforced control is and to just stop. Stop trying to involuntarily control people using force, violence and lies.
It doesn’t work. It always and only makes everything worse, not better. Not even for the guy who does it!

About Canadian Armed forces yesterday: They are a joke and have been since the Avro Arrow. WHY you can make your own guess, and were adequate to like a Scandinavian power up until, I dunno, take your pick. Mulrooney even. Fine. But in “recent” era are non-operational, and have been savagely ethnically cleansing the CAF of all “Canadians” meaning anyone vaguely associated with traditional beliefs about Canada, all men and all whites, i.e. “All of them”. And putting in the worst, most feckless military-destroying NPC fembots they could find anywhere. Now for some AMAZING reason they now seem to have a “Recruiting problem.” Who knew? Since they savagely hate anyone from anywhere that calls Himself a Canadian, drinks Labatts, tells dirty jokes, and wants to shoot moose n’ stuff. NOW they want to waive all requirements and have an ALL-INDIAN, Pashtun, non-Citizen army, or what we usually call “An Army of Colonial Occupation.” And they already said they want to kill all the whites and all the gun owners, in their own houses, so why not believe them?
That’s neither here nor there, you can have any army you want. Problems are, CARNEY wants to go “Elbows Up” and fight and resist America and Donald Trump. Okay then, you need an army! That’s how these things go. Your army is made of people, young men, and the ones who have the loosest Provincial Experience with guns, i.e. Alberta. Then Sask.
So you have no guns, no familiarity with guns, you want to TAKE all the guns, so no one, no normal Canadian Citizens are armed to defend the place, THEN purge all those guys from the Army THEN have no home-grown arms industry, no oil, no industry at all, and THEN fight the entire United States of Hitler AFTER the U.S. just conquered Western Europe in 40 days.

If not then you DO need to get an army, recruit, spend for it, and hand every Canadian a free rifle and encourage them to use them widely in every city and province, because that’s your only hope here. Being armed is not being a war-monger. It means you’re not a sap. It’s just part of being a living being, like having a door on your house or tipi.
Let’s be useful: at 1/10th the size of the U.S. what can you POSSIBLY do to defend yourselves against the greatest (projection) military force on earth? I mean, you can pay nothing, and just give up, that’s possibly the best option. Become the 51st state. I wouldn’t tho. What has EVERY state next to a large neighbor done in all history? There are thousands of examples.
One, you buy at least one rifle for every living Canadian (Citizen) and force them all to training to know how to use them, going full Swiss or Israeli (or Belgium) plan. Then you make a home grown “Badger” APC or whatever and have enough in the nation – ten-thousands – to make a difference. You mine every road and bridge and wellhead. You make standing forces far larger for an officer resistance corps, and focus on the kind of 5GW guerrilla-fighting that doesn’t win but makes the enemy pay dearly. You disconnect completely from the U.S. and our economy, and become fully independent in food, cars, refineries. You create a huge steel industry and a hard Navy; you can really hurt us with that. You begin the patriotic round on Canada again, what IS Canada (no one knows even now except nose-picking hatred of the U.S.) and what makes it great and worth dying for. This is in direct contradiction to the immigrant wave you have, both in ethos and mouths to feed, so 10M of them will need to be re-deported to the nation of their actual citizenship. They will need to be far more atomized and less centralized 10 miles from the US border, with far more prosperity set up in Arctic “Moisture Farms” of underground mushroom growing or whatever is possible, I dunno, that’s your problem.
Thousands and thousands and thousands of changes to make yourself a viable, happy, prosperous, patriotic country entirely independent from the U.S. so you can for the love of God live your own life and stop looking at and complaining about us all the time. All these things are totally possible: some very fast, some very slow. It’s a vision to have that most Canadians would join on to!
But they won’t, they will do nothing, destroy more Canadians and everything Canada stands for, then sit around on their thumb and complain. Like everyone else in the world. Like you’ve done with drug collapse in rural Canada and Canadian drug cartel money laundering right now. Then what happens is, Socialist Canada pisses off Alberta, steals all money, doesn’t care, and Alberta becomes a U.S. Territory in process of becoming a state. Whether you ATTACK and KILL fellow Canadians over that, no matter. I expect all Ontario would be greedy to murder cessionary “terrorist” Albertans for daring to produce oil and want to keep their own money. Sask, M.B., and all of B.C. minus Hong Couver join. Que. Clips out, demanding hard-core concessions and there IS no Canada at all in 2 years. No contiguous borders. Besides, Que is EXTREMELY large and VERY important. Focus is on Calgary, but Quebec is arguably the sleeper and more essential. They are also EASILY able to be a viable, independent nation, and are larger than Argentina or Iran, with nothing but ports, resources, coherent language, and working people. Ontario is land-locked, as Que owns the river and can demand anything they want easier than any Hormuz, and have a 100-year axe to grind.
Here’s an idea though: don’t do any of that. Just be normal instead and realizing having an army of self-defense isn’t selling out to evil or billionaires – you already did that from 1980-now – it’s just a necessary part of being alive. Atm you want no army AND to not be conquered AND to pick fights with your armed, roving neighbor. Again, what’s wrong with this picture?
I haven’t seen or read any evidence that God cares how we accomplish a world without war and other forms of forced involuntary violence to control people. I think He just wants it done.
He said so very explicitly in that Bible quote DrD posted this morning, the key portions of which instructs like a literal checklist 1) humble yourself , 2) pray, 3) seek God’s face and lastly #4) turn from your wicked ways. I don’t see how He could have said it any clearer. He said follow those steps and he would forgive your mistakes and reward you with His eternal love and sanctuary.
That’s a sweet deal. You should take it.
