The world needs non-compliance so thank you so much – it is icky to go through that shit – it is counter balanced in my life with a very large anti-force/demand/mandate group on Signal (app) that meet in the real world and party and help each other.
The weird thing is for most of my life and for the lives of people older than me we have been aware of, or wanting some counter culture movement to be localised and lasting. However none of these intentional communities really ever seem to take hold (there may be some exceptions like the Kibbutz scene etc. ?)
They form organically out of environmental pressure, not through idealism or intention.
We have the conditions now and they are forming and solidifying.
Counter narrative becomes solid and cohesive and self-supporting. Involves emotional support, financial, communication fair share etc. All are welcome and accepted because the shared external stress is a binding agent. Much more tolerance is incorporated but dangers of identification and ‘specialness’ exist though not yet manifest.We are linking more than ever. David Holmgren has created models (others too) that are now being real-world tested in unique and diverse ways. I am thinking very much about privacy in the crypto world and want to learn about Pirate coind and Dark.fi etc.

Omicron is such a problem that we barely notice when it’s here. A county in Florida (which includes Orlando) reported that nearly 100% of Covid strains in wastewater samples are omicron, while “those who are hospitalized are being primarily infected by the delta variant.”
A sampling this week showed that omicron represented almost 100% of the strains in the samples from the wastewater facilities, Orange County Utilities spokesperson Sarah Lux said in an email.
It’s a different story when it comes to people seeking treatment for COVID-19, officials said.

Last year I moved to a smaller town (a blue dot in a red state). There’s a big, powerful, nationally known church here that gets very negative national attention from sites the likes of Vox. I struggle with it, because most of my 50 years on this earth I’ve been a radical lefty, but “my people” started going totally insane about 10 years ago. But it’s still hard for me to embrace the hard right. This church has protested the mandates of all sorts since the very beginning, openly going mask-less except for the short period where it was strongly enforced and they were threatened to be shut down…but they still held protest gatherings in parks, singing psalms. The city arrested some of them, but ultimately dropped charges. It’s becoming more and more difficult for me to NOT join them.
The wild part for me is we have a literal control group right here in our town that is about 50/50 liberal/conservative, 50/50 vaccinated/unvaccinated, 50/50 mask wearing/not, 50/50 following “the Science”/Living their lives. We have two large State Universities here, 7 miles apart and those on the blue state side come to the red state side all the time. One has made news for their strict vaccine mandates, ones has no mandates. You get the picture.
Yet, no difference in who gets it, who gets sick from it. Less than 100 people in this area of more than 35k people have died from (with?) covid since the beginning.
And I wonder. What are we all so scared of? Am I the crazy one asking, where’s the pandemic?

Even when we know we are in the right, it can be difficult to stand alone against everyone surrounding us. Our wack job interim governor here in NYS instituted the mask mandate a week ago. I was unaware until I went into a friend’s candy shop that day. Later, when my son and I went to the grocery store further up Main Street, they had a sign proclaiming the mandate was in effect. Neither of us had masks. In the past, he had been reluctant to join me in being “disobedient.” This time he did not show any hesitation, and we were the only two unmasked shoppers.
I now make a nod to the mask thing with my bandana tied loosely, worn a la “Joe Biden” style, with it drooping well under my nose. Because everybody knows the virus is not in your nasal passages, preferring instead to nestle between your choppers–Science! Anyway, the mask–thinking of embroidering a more classic version with “Heil Hochul!” But that might be too needlessly provocative since people would read more into it than simply an example of slavish obedience gone (very very) bad.
It was definitely upsetting when my friend declared his bar restaurant vaccine only. And my kid had to go see the new Spiderman movie in town with his mother, because they now require proof of vaccine and photo ID. Come to think of it, that might be a hidden benefit, although he claims the movie was excellent.
Yesterday a close friend texted that he was positive and feeling mild symptoms. He got his third jab over a month ago. His wife, also triple jabbed, is showing symptoms. His social network is reporting many similar stories. Later that day, another good friend, one of the few I’m aware of who is au naturel, called to ask the proper dosage of IVm. I had given him a supply months ago, and he was feeling achey legs with general fatigue and headache and wanting to crawl into bed.
Today he feels much much better, and is on his second day of the five day regimen. At this point in the game, whether that is related to the medication or not, who cares. At least it gives him the feeling that he is doing something.
This all reminds me of the Runny Nose Pandemic of ’87. Remember that? Neither do I. Who would?
Shortly after Trump came down with his case last year, he said something along the lines of Don’t live in fear of this thing. Live your life.

Speaking of masks I bought three masks from ViruShield
They are just a small plastic shield that covers your nose and mouth and sticks to the bridge of your nose. They are ridiculously expensive but you can use them forever by replacing the sticky bit with double sided tape. They are good to wear with glasses and don’t fog them up and the glasses help keep them on. They are totally ineffective as a mask, so about as good as what most masks people wear but don’t inhibit breathing at all. I have worn one to stores and even in the airport and nobody in ‘authority’ has said anything (except they won’t let you on a plane with one). I get a lot of surprised looks and smiles and on occasion someone will ask me where to get one. They are not as non-compliant as no mask but make the statement “OK, if you insist I’ll wear a stupid, worthless mask, so there.”Pick a battle ground

Are you seriously referring to the majority of people on this planet as “lunatic fringe” and people who “hate themselves and everyone else”? Looking at the actions of the US government over the last 70 years it appears as though they want everybody to hate them, even their own veterans.
The US destiny has been obvious to most of us for decades: democracy has been corrupted because the people allowed certain individuals to become so wealthy and powerful that they decided they did not need everybody else and could just buy the government. The government allowed them to get their stuff made overseas, even helped subsidize it at one time, and soon the rich people started to question the value of their fellow citizens back home, especially as the average income reduces and the overseas market becomes more important than the home market: ask the likes of the NFL.
Their contempt for the home market is further demonstrated by their refusal to maintain the integrity of the nation, opening the borders to allow anyone it, showing you that they consider you all equal: citizen and illegal alien.
When individuals in the USA can own their own armies, when government does the bidding of corporations and oligarchs, and when most stuff is made overseas, then there is no “serving the people”.
The US “experiment” worked for a while then failed, as it was destined to, but the time for protesting that failure was when the jobs were being moved to China – all part of the USA’s cold war victory – now it is way too late.
By the way, it is not the system: empires come and go regardless of the system, the same as all living creatures, the reason being that the individuals that run the show are flawed and end up actively destroying their empire which they will no doubt miss once it’s gone. People are idiots.

I was only speaking about Americans. I lack the scope & desire to even begin the task of adding up the equation outside of America.
But I do know that U$ Empire Inc. has done terrible things in Our name, that the sane among us loathe THEIR actions, just like the nations that the Empire has trampled surely do.
The U$ Empire Inc. is not = The American Experiment (Democratic Republic under Natural Law), which ceased to legally exist MAR 1933 (After suffering a death of a thousand cuts).
Moreover, “open borders” is a multi-faceted tool of the U$ Empire, along with outsourcing America’s tech + manufacturing + several other acts that would have been treasonous just 50 years ago.
