I want to share a few observations that involve defense company (DC) stock. The background. DC are 2 tier. The operating tier that makes things. The executive tier that decides things. The exec recruits from ops. How does that work? There are always entry level exec positions open. If you are in ops and respond well to exec orders you will get an offer. When you enter the exec you get tracked on 3 very simple metrics. 1) do you meet your profit quantity goals? 2) do you meet your profit quality goals (a percent of your total sales must be profit) 3) do you own stock? Not a little stock either. Each exec level has a defined stock level. you will be on probation at that level to have time to buy stock.
So. Banging the stock price is a corner turn to decimate the part of the DC that takes the most and gives the least. A lot of execs counting on that stock for retirement. A lot of angry people. Running your DC.
Maybe there is a 4) political contribution. This is also measured and tracked in a data base. But its not just execs. Its “highly compensated” wherever you are in DC. No one cares what party. Not mentioning gold as a safe alternate to the US dollar, as a reserve currency, was one such hole.Trump wanting foreign countries to lower their interest rates, usually means their currencies fall relative to the US dollar, something that is counter to what Trump wants!
To counter this, Trump has to force foreign countries’ central banks to artificially lower interest rates, while at the same time weaken the US dollar and raise the value of their currencies!
For foreign countries this is a very costly business to maintain, because the private sector wants no part of this unnatural economic arrangement!
Over time, this artifical arrangement will fail of it’s own weight, like everything else that inflates!.One thing not mentioned that runs in Trump’s favor, is the human nature of corrupt politicians around the world to the attraction of cheaper money!
