I talk to quite a LOT of immigrants with thick accents now. I get to see the cars and houses they own here in the US. Usually they think I mean a sink.
Always these thick accents, somehow always using the phone in a way to increase the muddy lower midrange and high bass while eliminating sibilant frequencies. I do not know what they are doing or why they do not know how to operate a phone while not knowing what a tub is or various other things. I would love to SEE them using a phone because I cannot understand why it is so universal.
Occasionally they shift as they get up to grab some paperwork or check the VIN on their car and for a moment the audio becomes normal due to losing control of the phone for a moment. They design the audio on these phones to work for idiots so all you have to do to get reasonably intelligible speech through them is not completely fuck up. A majority of the time, there is a strange cardboard delay/reverb making it even worse. Are they cupping their hands around the phone? Placing it in a shoebox and speaking through a hole? WHY so universal?

Donald Trumps “offer” to Israel is probably going to be the end of Israel, and by that statement I am saying that it is the offer itself that triggers the event.
The offer, all in itself, is a lethal trap and it’s too late to take it back now.
Here is how that works. The logic is unassailable, as you will soon see, and the reasoning is not complicated at all. Here we go:
Israel’s claim upon the land is based on their assertively unquestioning and unquestionable belief that the land was given to them directly by God.
Some people agree with that belief and many others do not believe it, but in either case the argument directly rests on just that one assertion: that God gave the land of Israel to the Jews, forever.
In other words, the argument rests entirely upon either the belief or the disbelief in the truthfulness of the asserted statement that God gave the land of Israel to the Jews.
So, here’s the trap: If a Jew accepts Trumps offer of the United States taking possession of and literally owning Palestine on a long term basis (which Trumps has unequivocally proclaimed and doubled-down on) then that means that they do NOT believe that God gave the land to them and them alone.
God did not say, I’m giving this land to you to sell to a New York real estate developer.
In other words, the only way that Israelis can agree to yield Palestine to United States ownership is to relinquish their ONLY legitimizing claim upon the land in the first place.
The trap is escape proof. Israel can neither take Palestine nor give it away unless they own it in the first place, and their only claim to ownership is the belief that God gave it to them, BUT to allow the United States to own it means that they don’t actually BELIEVE that God assigned ownership of that land to them and them alone.
By accepting Trump’s offer Israel’s Jews negate their one and only claim upon the land. If God didn’t give it to them then it belongs to whoever was there when modern Israel stole it. The admission that they don’t REALLY believe God gave it to them delegitimizes, absolutely and completely, all claims made on that self-confessed falsehood.
Laws (and logic) are very clear on this point. Fraud voids all contracts that are based on it.
So there ya go.
Did God REALLY give the land to Israel? Apparently the Israeli’s don’t think so. To which I say, “Okay, then, give it back.”
