Sorry, started reading today’s Debt Rattle and this is far as I could get without comment; just what fucking planet are these people living on???
My only conclusion is; we’re so far beyond our Ken that we’re lost; totally lost.
Man the lifeboats; it’s every human for themselves/families.
We’re just so fucked that it’s hard to reconcile our true position with the perceived reality.
Man-o-man; I hope you’all got rid of your debt, because if you didn’t, well then…

The world in general marches on; oblivious to the realities of economics, world trade, and strategic alliances.
Alliances are changing, rapidly, and the U.S. is losing many strategic alliances because of its inflexible hegemonic desires/demands from the world it no longer controls.
The apoplectic response is a fatal tell…

Most of my life I was living in lalaland and ignorant of the social/economic activities.

Now, with TAE and other bloggers, I’ve finally begun to understand the way it use to be.

Suddenly, all the expert ‘talking heads” are say that yesterday is gone and we are going to have a collapse that will destroy lalaland.

    I just can’t win.

    I just can’t win.

Of course you can; just understand the game being played and elect to not play.
    It’s really that simple.
But not playing is the key; if you can understand that you’ll be fine.

    Yep!
Couldn’t afford to play when I was in lalaland.
Didn’t know how to play when I could afford to play.
Now that I could afford to play and that I think I know how, I’m reading that some of the smartest, biggest. smartest guys are closing their hedge funds.

I guess being too early is better than being too late.

    Opsss!
Now, I’m too old for even the buzzard to find an appetizing meal.

The way to win is not to play.

That’s quite profound. That’s been said about casinos and street hucksters before.

It’s rigged against you. Just don’t play.

This is now being said about Kim in North Korea. Just back away. Don’t give him face. Want to win? Don’t play his game.

“Nassim, you know a lot more than many people on this Kurds business. What’s Russian play there?”

    olo530,

The Russians are trying very hard to be on speaking terms with everyone – except for those who don’t believe in negotiation and want a fake Islamic Caliphate. Everyone in the region knows very well that the USA is trying to create mayhem with a view to controlling Europe’s energy supplies. Everyone there also knows that Israel’s position is untenable – nuclear weapons are of limited use. They have an excellent air force, but modern anti-aircraft missiles neutralise it. Anyway, all their military airfields are within range of primitive rockets from Lebanon.

The Russians and Chinese are trying to do business and trade. The Americans are trying to continue lording it over everyone else. I think one day even those cowardly European politicians are going to stop kowtowing to Washington. It is much too early though.

I had a Kurdish acquaintance when I lived in Tehran. He was in charge of the Shah’s bodyguard – a full division of elite soldiers – and 2d in command of the army, air force and navy. A tall, imposing guy. He used to invite us out sometimes. His girlfriend was a friend of my girlfriend. He was extremely polite and occasionally told us about his adventures as a young man – behind the lines stuff in Iraq. I never saw him in uniform.

Once, I was at a big dinner party at the Imperial Country Club, a huge place in the hills north of Tehran – surrounded by forests. Because I was the only foreigner out of perhaps 200 officers and their wives, he asked a famous Turkish singer to do a closeup with me while singing a popular love song. Everyone found it hilarious. It was all a bit too much and I tried to leave early, but I was escorted back to the party at the point of a bayonet by soldiers in camouflage who appeared out of nowhere. 🙂

Here is Emel Sayin, singing in Farsi – not her mother tongue. A very poor quality recording, but it should give you an idea.

This general offered this lady a massive diamond necklace at the end of the show. Money was like water in those days for those running the place.

Sadly, he was shot in the back by some of his officers when he got out of the palace to talk with demonstrators at one of those huge revolutionary rallies. Some Iranians claim that an American shot him.

All I am getting at really is that saying “Kurds” is just as ridiculous as saying “Jews”. They are very different from one another. One thing for certain is that the Kurds’ neighbours will never allow them to have this fake independence that the media talks about. Trying to do a Ukraine in Kurdistan is doomed to failure.

BTW, this guy’s girlfriend was hauled in front of a revolutionary court and accused of getting her property from him – he was married. She was able to show that was not the case. The judge was a young mullah who had recently arrived from Paris. They got married shortly after (she had a daughter from a previous husband). This judge is now the supreme leader. Oh, I forgot to mention, he is Azari Turkish – but you will never read that in the lying media.

I hope you get the message. Western media is busy trying to play the ethnic game. The Middle East is entirely ruled by families that have connections with one another.

    Nassim,

Is there any truth to the claims that Erdogan wants to bring back the Ottoman Empire in some form?

Or what about the Shia mullahs in Iran and their apocalyptic prophecies?

Is this all a bunch of propaganda or is their any merit to it?

    Chris M,

I don’t know much about Turkey. I have never been there and don’t speak the language. Erdogan was the darling of the USA – because of the religious thing – and he was essentially installed there with the help of the Americans – just like Saddam Hussein in Iraq. When they got fed up with him, they tried to swap him with another religious character – Muhammed Fethullah Gülen – who is currently living near DC. This attempt failed – probably because the Russians alerted Erdogan. At one time, Gülen was the mentor of Erdogan – but the Americans decided Erdogan is a better candidate.

Contrary to the media version, the Mullahs of Iran were brought back from exile in Paris back by the West. It has always been the objective of the West to have theocratic societies in the Middle East – to control the place more easily.

For example, the Muslim Brotherhood were set up by the British in Egypt. They even held their meetings at the HQ of Suez Canal Company – a British-owned private company at the time. It is all on historical record.

Zionism was not created by the Jews. Again, it was created by the British Foreign Office which financed the first Zionist newspaper in London – which failed as the local Jews were not interested at that time.

All the leading British politicians in the 40+ years leading up to the First World War were financed by Jewish bankers. Lord Randolph Churchill, the father of Winston Churchill, owed them some £5m in today’s money at his death. They invested in him because he was to become prime minister – but he died from syphilis contracted in Paris. He did become Chancellor of the Exchequer however – the second most important job in the Empire.

Winston Churchill was always short of money – he had to upkeep Blenheim palace – and we all know where that money must have come from. He certainly did not earn enough by writing books and drawing paintings.

In Iran, earlier on, the British created a religious sect – the Bahais – to undermine traditional religion. The Shah’s last prime minister – he was PM for 12 years – was a Bahais. Their HQ is in Israel – I guess because the British would not pay them and the Israelis took on the mantle.

It is a bit like “liberated” Ukraine – Jews 1% of population – having a Jewish President and a Jewish prime minister. And they call it democracy. 🙂

Sorry if I wondered a bit. I just want you to know that religion is just another tool for breaking up countries and suchlike. A bit like a plumber carrying around an adjustable spanner in his toolbox.
