Trump wants no war,
• Trump Formally Notifies Congress Of Iran War Resumption (ZH)
WH Formally Notifies Congress War has ResumedRead more …
We are very far past the little “excursion” the administration talked about in the earlier phases of Operation Epic Fury, per reports late this afternoon and early evening: President Trump formally notified Congress last week that the U.S. has resumed military strikes against Iran, providing the Pentagon an extra 60 days to utilize U.S. forces in the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) theater absent congressional approval. Trump told lawmakers in a 2-page letter on Friday that U.S. strikes resumed against Iran on July 7, alerting legislators in line with the War Powers Act, which stipulates the commander-in-chief has to inform Congress within two days of the military conducting kinetic action abroad.
President Trump is still insisting that the US won’t get sucked into a ground war, akin the Iraq or Afghan wars. “United States ground forces are not involved in these strikes. These strikes are limited, measured, planned and executed in a manner designed to minimize civilian casualties,” the president wrote in the letter. Overnight reports say Iran has in turn renewed its retaliation on Gulf allies hosting American bases, especially Bahrain.Pentagon Announced 3rd Night of Major Strikes
In case anyone had doubts that the region has witnessed a return to full-scale US-Iran war, CENTCOM has announced that it has begun launching the third consecutive night of strikes on Iran in the overnight hours (local):
This as President Trump has claimed Monday that the US had a “deal with [Iran] two days ago” but that Tehran wanted “to negotiate it further”. However when asked by a reporter whether he thinks a negotiated settlement is no longer possible Trump responded: “I never reached that conclusion.” He explained his beleif that the “most effective” way to put pressure on Iran is va a combination of a blockade and “hitting them”. Earlier he and the Pentagon announced that a full blockade of Iranian ports is back on.

“Where do the enemies of our country — including the ones inside our country — get the idea that Iran is winning this war?”
“Persian kings did not build empires by being naive about deception; they practically invented the genre.” —Jesus Enrique Rosas
• Carrot and Stick (James Howard Kunstler)
Where do the enemies of our country — including the ones inside our country — get the idea that Iran is winning this war? They wish it into existence. The wishing is necessary to put across the talking points that President Trump and his advisors don’t have a plan, don’t know what they are doing, that the USA is persecuting and oppressing Iran for no good reason.Read more …
We pounded Iran over the weekend for a very good reason: Iran needs to learn the hard way that there are consequences for breaking agreements. For instance, at around 7:15p.m. local time, Iran fired a projectile at the Cyprus-flagged container ship GFS Galaxy, managed by Dubai-based Global Feeder Shipping, in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claimed it was “a warning shot,” but it was a direct hit on the ship’s engine room, disabling the vessel. The crew had to abandon ship in lifeboats — and were soon rescued by a combination of other commercial ships and Omani navy vessels. One crew member went missing.Hours after the attack, Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed. And soon after that, President Trump asserted that the Strait was open to commercial traffic, with US forces positioned to ensure freedom of navigation, contradicting Iran’s announcement of closure “until further notice.”
It’s not the President and his advisors who are confused, it’s the situation, and for a good reason: Iran’s leadership is confused. It’s as if Mr. Trump has to stand between Abbott & Costello doing their Who’s on First routine. All the while the IRGC fulminates and fires what remains of its ordnance at ships and other countries in the region, Iran’s putative civilian leadership, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, and Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, are talking desperately on the phone to mediators in Qatar and Pakistan about how to implement “technical issues” in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
All of this indicates that Iran’s leadership is badly split between its civil government and the IRGC (Revolutionary Guard) forces that operate as a competing Mafia-style command structure with an attached military of its own, separate from Iran’s regular army. The major discord between the two entities is that the civil government would apparently like the conflict with America to resolve in a way that will allow their country to salvage its economy and return to normal relations with the rest of the world, while the IRGC remains obdurately bent on jihad, no matter what it means for their country and its people.
The problem with jihad is that it must be waged against all infidels, meaning the people of Western Civ — a major part of the rest of the world — and now even many states around the Persian Gulf region who have joined President Trump’s Board of Peace — Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan — that might qualify as targets of jihad, too. Why? Because Israel was one of the initial signatories, making the Board of Peace a creature of The Great Satan (the USA) and Little Satan (Israel).
Of course, a key precept in jihad is taqiyya, which prescribes lying and deception in the service of jihad, which further suggests that, for the jihadist IRGC, there can be no real understanding in the Memorandum of Understanding that Iran’s civil government signed. Taqiyya requires the IRGC to lie, which it has demonstrated it is determined to do. . . like, firing missiles at commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz after it promised not to. How can such conduct possibly produce mutual understanding?
And so, if you picture the negotiations as a carrot-and-stick type process, you see that Iran’s IRGC is oblivious to carrots. Only the stick might avail, and Mr. Trump is obliging them with it. By the way, rumors circulated the past twenty-four hours that the IRGC’s newest commander, Ahmad Vahidi, was killed in his bunker by an American bomb over the weekend. True? Dunno. We’ll probably learn soon enough. Vahidi became the IRGC Commander in March of this year after his predecessor, Mohammad Pakpour, was successfully blown up. Who’s available to step-up into the job now? I guess we’ll find that out soon enough, too.
Speaking of targets, we also learned that President Trump was targeted for assassination by Iran (surprise surprise) upon leaving last week’s NATO confab in Turkey — Israeli intel informed him — necessitating that switcheroo between the new Air Force One gifted by Qatar, and the good old baby-blue Air Force One just recently retired from service going all the way back to Bush One. The old plane had better defensive weaponry aboard, our officials explained.
If I were president of our country, at this point in the quarrel with Iran, I’d consider just dropping Graham Platner over Tehran. And if that fails to get their minds right, follow-up with Rosie O’Donnell and Ana Navarro.

US, UK,->Socialism. Takes some getting used to.
• British MP Exposes Secret Society Behind UK’s Lurch Toward Socialism (HUSA)
The stunning transformation of Great Britain in recent years – from a beacon of decorum and stiff upper lips to a cautionary tale of wokeness run amok – has been blamed on everything from socialism to satanism. However, Rupert Lowe, a member of the British Parliament and founder of the organization Restore Britain, said the reality may be even more sinister.Read more …
In a recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, he said a shadowy group of elites known as the Fabian Society was deliberately trying to wreck the country. “I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of the Fabian Society, but if you go and have a look at it, it was basically most of the Labour Party for many, many years,” Lowe said, referring to England’s leading left-wing party, the equivalent of U.S. Democrats.
The British people need to understand the powerful malign influence of the Fabian Society. pic.twitter.com/i3uY9sJfj8
— Rupert Lowe MP (@RupertLowe10) July 11, 2026America’s Left may be facing a similar identity crisis as it tries to shake off the subversive influence of the Justice Democrats, Democrat Socialists of America and other fringe elements that are pushing neo-Marxist ideas. But the British version has been around for nearly 150 years. The club, founded in 1884, was a direct reaction to the philosophy of Karl Marx (who died a year earlier in London). Rather than forcing a collectivist government as Marx suggested, through class struggle — which generally led to uncomfortable outcomes for aristocrats — the society advocated for a socialist society to take root slowly and incrementally.
It was the brainchild of intellectuals including the man who first created “My Fair Lady” heroine Eliza Doolittle — playwright George Bernard Shaw. Science-fiction visionary H.G. Wells also counted himself a member. “It’s the most extraordinary organization,” Lowe told Rogan. “Their emblem is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, as if that doesn’t tell you what they’re doing.”Among the beliefs it endorsed was eugenics, the idea of breeding out unwanted attributes through various means, scientific and otherwise.
While the Nazis would go on to run with the idea — and ultimately help to effect its demise — the Fabian Society also was rumored to have inspired author George Orwell, whose dystopian 1984 (written in the late 1940s) was set exactly 100 years after the society’s founding.
The Fabian Society was created in 1884, & why George Orwells book is called 1984, as he figured the Fabian Society would have completed their mission within 100 years.
— NWO Dissident 1776. (@An89390Anglo) July 10, 2026
He was a bit off with the timing, but not with their evil agenda & what they are trying to achieve. pic.twitter.com/70LA5kyaHWAccording to Lowe, not all of the society’s ideas have vanished entirely. Rather, some of them simply evolved into a modern political framework. “Everyone should look at the Fabian Society, because that runs deep through the veins of Labour,” he said. Writing for The Telegraph, former Fabian research director Stephen Pollard sought to dismantle the claims by attacking Lowe as a conspiracy theorist. However, his argument may have only helped to make the case for some that “basically what it wants to do is destroy all good and create a dependency culture.”
After defending ideas like eugenics as having been widely accepted in their time, Pollard insisted that the current society was more concerned with selling magazine subscriptions than world domination. Many of its policy papers now deal with addressing the nation’s housing crisis. “To take that and conclude that they are in fact part of a secret cabal dedicated to destroying Britain is not so much misguided as a sign that someone is truly away with the fairies,” he claimed.

“In 1990, manufacturing was the top employment sector in most states[..] Today, healthcare is the nation’s biggest employer..”
• Prescription for a Socialist Workforce (Daniel McCarthy)
America has a socialism problem, and it’s bigger than most citizens realize. When candidates aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America win Democratic party primaries, or New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani hails “the warmth of collectivism,” socialism’s advance is obvious. But it’s making gains in other ways, too, especially in the transformation of America’s workforce — which is coming to be chiefly employed in a sector one step removed from outright government control: healthcare. In 1990, manufacturing was the top employment sector in most states, including New York and California. Today, healthcare is the nation’s biggest employer and is No. 1 in almost every individual state — New York, California, Texas, even Pennsylvania.Read more …
When Mary Talley Bowden, the founder of Americans for Health Freedom, posted a chart on X last weekend illustrating this revolution in American labor, it went viral, garnering more than 2.5 million views and eliciting hundreds of follow-up comments. Many noted America hasn’t changed from a nation of makers into a nation of caregivers: Healthcare employment is growing less because we’re adding doctors and nurses than because we’re adding far more administrators. The health workforce contains an army of bureaucrats whose jobs are based on keeping up with government regulation. nThis is the 21st-century twist on socialism: Instead of government owning industry outright, it forces industries to remodel themselves in the shape of Washington’s own bureaucracies.Healthcare isn’t the only victim of this — compliance bureaucracies and human-resources departments set up to address mountains of federal, state and local regulations have taken root everywhere. But healthcare is special: It’s not only more heavily regulated than other fields, it’s tied to the massive entitlement systems of Medicare and Medicaid, and a host of lesser programs as well. The socialists who are an increasingly powerful bloc in the Democratic Party aren’t content with the slow conversion of American healthcare into a quasi-public sector, however. They’re eager to expand Medicare into “Medicare for All,” and many still dream of outright nationalization of medicine, on the model of Britain’s National Health Service.
Whether the takeover occurs gradually through regulation or suddenly at a stroke, the consequences of merging of healthcare and government are monumental for social values as well the economy: Progressives see gaining power over medicine as a shortcut to winning battles over abortion, euthanasia, biological sex and gender, and much else. And the more Americans are made dependent on government — for their health or their jobs — the less free they are to vote against the people running the system. The Trump administration’s efforts to bring back manufacturing jobs are, among other things, an attempt to restore balance and freedom to our economy.
Tariffs that stop foreign producers from flooding the American market are just a first step, one that has to be coupled with creating a competitive environment for domestic firms. A multiplicity of domestic producers keeps prices down — and gives workers a choice of employer, as companies must compete to offer the best wages and benefits. Workers well-paid in the private sector, whose jobs are helped by protection but not merely a byproduct of government regulation — like the growing healthcare bureaucracy — are secure enough to exercise political choice, too. Yet too many old-guard Republicans and libertarians are so repulsed by tariffs that they fail to see how much worse the alternative is.

Won’t he just go crazier?
• Mamdani’s Affordability Agenda Flops As NYC Rents Surge To Record Highs (ZH)
New York City’s socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, and his radical-left lieutenants in City Hall promised voters free bus rides, government-run grocery stores, cheap housing, and much more. Yet the dream of a left-wing utopia has not materialized. In fact, rents in the NYC metro area just hit a record high.New data from The Corcoran Group, a major residential real estate brokerage founded in NYC, shows that rents in the metro area have climbed to a new record high. Manhattan’s median rent rose 8% from a year earlier to $5,295, while Brooklyn reached $4,350, also up 8%, according to the report. Manhattan’s vacancy rate narrowed to 1.49%. In Queens, Rego Park posted particularly sharp increases, with one-bedroom rents up 12% and studio rents up more than 20%.Read more …
“Manhattan renters are chasing a shrinking pool of available apartments, and the result has become predictable — record rents. Available listings dropped 16% year-over-year in June, while the borough’s median rent climbed to a new high of $5,295 . Leasing activity clocked in 7% below last year’s pace due to the lack of inventory, causing competition to remain fierce. Additionally, June marked one year since implementation of the FARE Act, a milestone that may still be influencing pricing trends, particularly within the non-doorman market. Across the board, quality apartments are commanding a premium, and renters have little room to negotiate,” Corcoran COO Gary Malin wrote in the report.Malin continued, “Brooklyn’s rental market is also rewriting the record books. Median rent jumped 8% year-over-year to an all-time high of $4,350 and apartments spent 30% fewer days on the market. This steep annual decline underscores how tight the market has become, with flat inventory and strong demand strong causing available units to rent far faster than a year ago. While lease signings were lower on an annual basis, activity picked up from May as renters moved quickly to secure apartments ahead of the busiest stretch of the summer season. Throughout the borough, competition.”
City Comptroller Mark Levine commented on the new report, saying, “NYC’s housing affordability crisis is at DEFCON 1. We need to push harder on every front to address our housing shortage.” “Update zoning, invest more City $ in affordable units, lower the time & cost City bureaucracy imposes on construction, get 1000s of vacant regulated units back on the market. We need bold action. This is a crisis,” Levine added.

Turley attacks Max Blumenthal.
• Will Far-Left Influencers Face Charges in Rallying America’s Enemies? (Turley)
On July 4, 1916, Iva Ikuko Toguri was born in Los Angeles — 25 years before she would go to Japan and become known as the infamous Tokyo Rose during World War II. Roughly one hundred years later, Calla Walsh, 21, has stepped forward as a type of Tehran Rose, cutting propaganda films for one of the most blood-soaked regimes in the world. Walsh appeared at the funeral of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and praised him as the “greatest anti-imperialist leader.” Walsh is not alone. Other young Americans have rallied to the anti-American cause. That includes Jackson Hinkle, who appeared on a stage in Tehran, cheering on a crowd chanting “Down with America.”Read more …
It also includes Max Blumenthal, 48, the son of Sidney Blumenthal, the columnist who became notorious as the “attack dog” for Bill and Hillary Clinton. While supporting a regime that denies free speech and other human rights to its citizens, they are protected in the U.S. in voicing unpopular views, including denouncing their own nation. The question is where the line is between that and criminal conduct. Walsh, Hinkle and Blumenthal fit a pattern not just as young and privileged radicals, often downwardly mobile from their parents’ careers and accomplishments, but also as voices groomed by U.S. media culture for years.Walsh was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Boston University English professor Chris Walsh and Mary Sullivan Walsh, an instructor with Harvard’s Extension School. She was raised a progressive Brahman. The media fawned over the radical college dropout as an exciting new voice. The New York Times gushed over her, and Teen Vogue published her screed in favor of socialism. She would work on the campaigns of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. (Her work on the campaigns drew gushing reviews in The New York Times and Boston Magazine).
Hinkle was also celebrated by the media after he embraced socialism and then communism. Born in San Clemente, California, he was named one of “The 17 Most Inspirational Kids of 2017” by Reader’s Digest. As with Walsh, he was featured in Teen Vogue as an inspirational young activist. In a Los Angeles Times article, he was described by a source as “the kind of guy who gives you hope about the future … Jackson is fearless and well-informed.” Today, he is a vocal supporter not only of Iran’s regime but also of Vladimir Putin’s Russia and its war against Ukraine.
The scion of the Democratic establishment, Blumenthal attended the exclusive Georgetown Day School in Washington and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. His connections gave him immediate access to elite publications. He wrote books denouncing Israel and espousing increasingly radicalized values. He also wrote far-left columns for the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times. Liberal websites, including The Nation, The Daily Beast, and The Huffington Post, featured his work. He is viewed as an apologist for regimes fighting the U.S., often dismissing atrocities committed by countries such as Syria and Russia. (His father, Sidney Blumenthal, sent Hillary Clinton roughly two dozen of his son’s columns. Hillary responded with such praise as “Max strikes again!” and “He’s so good.”)
All three are examples of today’s radical chic in media and higher education, all given platforms as influencers. And there are thousands like Walsh, Hinkle, and Blumenthal. Indeed, our colleges are cranking out radicalized young people who have a paucity of job prospects but an abundance of rage. Recently, a Fourth of July event captured this culture in Chicago. The event featured Bill Ayers, a former professor, former fugitive, and one of the founders of the domestic terrorist organization, the Weather Underground.
The other speaker was Princeton’s Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, a chaired professor in the African-American Studies department and a writer for the New Yorker. Taylor delighted the young audience by saying that they were all part of the “F— the U.S.” crowd and called on others to reject “the idea of loving a nation state, which is what patriotism is.” She repeatedly returned to the theme that borders are “deadly” and “borders kill people,” denouncing all borders as “a tool of death and destruction.”
Walsh’s emergence as a face of Iranian propaganda raises striking parallels to Toguri, who was arrested and convicted of treason after World War II. She was actually just one of several women who participated in the infamous propaganda radio programs for the Japanese military. The difference is that Toguri, whom President Gerald Ford later pardoned, may have been an unwilling participant in the programs. Unlike Walsh, Toguri was effectively trapped in Japan after the U.S. refused to recognize her citizenship, preventing her from returning home to California.
Toguri was effectively destitute, subjected to cruel treatment by the Japanese. She insisted that she had been coerced into reading anti-American scripts and that even then she refused to attack the United States in her programs. Walsh was not just a willing participant; she is a raving anti-Semitic ally to the Iranians — and seemingly any country that can do harm to the U.S.

The (U.S.) disengagement is credit negative for European sovereigns, a report by two of Moody s top rating analysts said. It said the credit effect would depend on how the shift was managed in the coming years
When it comes to irony, Emmanuel Macron has, quite possibly, the world’s worst timing.

“Governments have refused to respect the wishes of their citizens…”
• Open Borders Are a Death Sentence to Western Nations (J.B. Shurk)
As simmering conflicts between Western citizens and Western governments boil over the next few years, we must never forget how we got to this point: Elected officials and irremovable bureaucrats occupying permanent administrative roles have refused to respect the wishes of the citizens whom they ostensibly represent and serve. From the United States to the United Kingdom, citizens have demanded that their governments secure national borders and end the steady flow of illegal aliens into their communities. From France, the Netherlands, and Germany to Australia and New Zealand, citizens have demanded that their governments arrest and remove Islamic immigrants who are guilty of rape, murder, or other violent crimes.Read more …
With the exception of President Trump’s efforts to enforce immigration law and deport illegal alien criminals (despite formidable resistance from the courts, leftist NGOs, and Establishment politicians from both the Democrat and Republican Parties) in the United States, no Western official has done anything to remedy the scourge of unlawful mass invasion in a deliberate, meaningful, and effective way. Instead, Western governments hide from their citizens the true number of illegal immigrants living among them. Western governments hide from their citizens a full accounting of the crimes committed by foreign nationals who should never have been permitted entry in the first place.Mass illegal immigration is not a new problem. In the United States, President Ronald Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act into law in 1986. Defended by both political parties as a way of combating illegal immigration while providing long-term lawbreakers legal status, it effectively awarded millions of foreign nationals amnesty. Politicians convinced the American people to support this trade-off: In return for citizens’ reluctantly permitting the government to reward the unlawful behavior of foreign immigrants who had no right to reside in the United States, the government would protect citizens by cracking down on future illegal immigration and punishing businesses that hired illegal immigrant workers. The U.S. government never lived up to its side of the bargain.
Instead, U.S. officials have lied to their citizens for forty additional years. Until President Trump entered office, U.S. borders were not secured. Businesses were rarely punished for hiring illegal aliens. Unbeknownst to most American citizens, State and federal welfare programs continued to add illegal aliens to their taxpayer-funded dole rolls. School districts in both cities and small towns continued to enroll illegal alien children. Hospital emergency rooms continued to overflow with illegal alien patients seeking “free” medical care. American jobs — especially blue-collar jobs — continued to go to illegal aliens because employers could pay foreigners less, avoid state and federal taxes, and use the threat of deportation as exploitative leverage over their workforces.
Illegal alien workers continued to place downward pressure on hourly wages. Illegal aliens continued to place upward pressure on the costs of housing, energy, and household necessities. Sometime in the ‘90s, American politicians and government bureaucrats began admitting to Americans that there were roughly eleven million illegal aliens inside the United States. For the next thirty years, politicians and bureaucrats repeated the same “eleven million” figure as if no net-increase in immigration had occurred. Anybody living in small-town America knew this to be a demonstrable lie. In the nineties, local school classrooms were made up almost entirely of American kids who grew up speaking English in households whose families had been living in the United States for generations.
As each year passed, those same classrooms were increasingly filled with kids whose parents had come from all over the world, and even small school districts were forced to hire staff who could attend to the needs of an increasingly foreign student body unfamiliar with basic English. Former Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino has said repeatedly that there are more than one hundred million illegal aliens residing in the United States. In other words, roughly one out of every three people living inside the borders of the U.S. is a foreign national unlawfully here. If those foreign nationals are employed, then they are likely guilty of identity fraud and committing a number of additional state and federal crimes.
Of those committing identity fraud, many are using social security numbers stolen from American citizens. Illegal aliens who steal Americans’ identities adversely affect citizens’ credit scores, tax obligations with the IRS, and background checks. Illegal aliens who fraudulently vote by claiming to be American citizens steal votes from actual American citizens. Foreign nationals who illegally vote in American elections deny American citizens legitimate representation and undermine Americans’ constitutional form of self-government.
In 1986, lawmakers from both parties promised an end to illegal immigration. Instead, tens of millions of new illegal aliens have continued to arrive. In return for grudgingly acceding to the government’s desire to provide a one-time gift of amnesty to those foreigners whose first act in the country was to break our immigration laws, Americans continued to lose jobs, pay more for everything, and be defrauded by identity theft. Even worse, they were forced to watch as foreign cultures transformed their schools and towns. They were forced to watch as foreigners successfully ran for political office and pushed foreign policies and beliefs upon American citizens.
New York City has a Muslim mayor from Uganda who has been a naturalized U.S. citizen for only eight years. Minneapolis has a Muslim member of Congress from Somalia who became a naturalized U.S. citizen at the age of seventeen.
Roughly 4% of Congress are foreign-born naturalized citizens, while 15% of Congress have at least one immigrant parent. A third of the judges occupying prestigious and powerful positions on the D.C. District Courts were born in foreign nations. These numbers are going in one direction — up!

In some instances, for sure.
• American Democracy Has Proven Itself to Be a Fraud (Paul Craig Roberts)
In my younger days conservatives and libertarians contrasted government unfavorably with private business. Government consisted of black hat guys and business of white hat guys. If government won, tyranny would be the result. If business won, liberty would stay alive. Conservatives and libertarians saw power as something that government wanted, but not business. There was no room for power in private life where business governed by competition competed for the consumer’s dollar. In the business sector, the people were king. In the government sector bureaucracies wrested power away from the people.Read more …
This was the narrative, and the US Chamber of Commerce kept it alive. For awhile I thought this way myself. Liberals reinforced the narrative, because they always wanted more power for government to rein in private sector wrongs. Liberals were perceived by conservatives and libertarians as wanting to transfer power from citizens to government regulators. It didn’t take me long to see that this narrative had problems. If it were true, what explained the success of business lobbies that lined K Street in Washington, D.C.? You didn’t have to open your eyes very wide to see, for example, agri-business use an alleged oil crisis to collect a federal corn subsidy to dilute gasoline with 10% of ethanol made from corn. The federal regulatory agencies that were created in the 1930s all ended up in the hands of the business interests that they were supposed to regulate. Think, for example, of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which the pharmaceutical industry turned into a shill for its interests. The way modern capitalism works, if capitalism it still is, is by corporate pacs purchasing with political campaign contributions the House and Senate and then handing to committee chairmen laws that they want passed. As a person who has served on House and Senate staffs, both personal staffs and committee staffs, I have experienced the process.
Some years ago Congress passed a law, pretending to show its opposition to big business, that if a corporation paid an executive more than one million dollars, it could not be deducted as a business expense unless the pay was “performance related.” To be performance related means it has to result in higher profits, which supposedly serve shareholders but in fact are given to executives and boards in “performance bonuses,” the main source of their pay, and to shareholders in the form of higher stock prices. Once this law was passed, anything that reduced costs increased profits and thereby executive pay.
The easiest way to increase profits is to lower labor costs. There are four ways of doing this. One is to move manufacturing jobs offshore where labor is cheaper. Another is for corporations to claim falsely that there is a shortage of American labor and to get H1-B and L-1 visas approved to bring in cheaper foreign labor to displace American workers. Another is to replace humans with AI and robotics. Another is to move back office operations and consumer service to countries where wages are low. The most visible are the work visa entrants into the United States.
When the corrupt US Congress passed the law that enables US corporations to fire their US work force and replace it with imported non-American labor, a few members who still represented Americans instead of corporations put into the law that the visa programs depended on corporations being unable to find American workers.
There were unlimited amounts of American workers available , including those abandoned by US corporations who took their production for US markets offshore to lower paid foreign labor. But American law firms rushed to hide the availability of American workers. For example, the law firm Cohen & Grigsby used a marketing video to demonstrate how the firm could enable clients to evade the restrictions on replacing their American workers with imported foreigners on work visas. Hire us, said the law firm’s marketing manager, and we promise “not to find a qualified and interested US worker.”
My book, The Failure of Laissez Faire Capitalism, published by Clarity Press 13 years ago exposed the scheme that the US President, the US House, the US Senate, the US whore media, and the US whore economics profession perpetuated in order to transfer the earnings of middle class blue collar American workers into multi-million dollar bonuses for corrupt US corporate executives in the form of totally fake “performance bonuses.” The only “performance” was the success of the lie, aided and abetted by such US firms as Cohen & Grigsby. Wall Street shared with corporate executives the responsibility for replacing US workers by threatening corporations with takeovers if they did not take advantage of opportunities to lower labor costs.
The latest news is that Microsoft after receiving approval for thousands of visas for foreign workers laid off 6,400 Americans in order to make room for their foreign replacements. The difference in labor costs go directly into the pockets of the Microsoft executives. Clearly American Capitalism No longer serves American citizens. Why haven’t Americans organized boycotts of their products. Why do Americans support firms that force social costs on them?
Economists who shill for jobs offshoring and work visas claim that it is necessary if US corporations are to compete. However, the US market is large enough to support successful companies, and it was the offshoring of manufacturing jobs to China that transferred the technology and business know-how that gave rise to foreign competition. Think about it, even today what competition does Microsoft and Apple, for example, have?

“..as DOJ speeds crackdown Trump DOJ has secured about two dozen noncitizen voting arrests, prosecutions or convictions in the last few months, with about another 90 more cases under investigation.
• Evidence Mounts of Noncitizens Reaching Voter Rolls, Casting Ballots (JTN)
A small town Kansas mayor born in Mexico. A Filipino senior citizen living in Hawaii. Two Pakistani men residing in New Jersey. An Aussie in Louisiana. And a Chinese student studying at the University of Michigan. They all have one thing in common. Each has been charged in the last year with illegally voting in U.S. federal elections as foreigners, part of a sudden wave of prosecutions led by the Trump Justice Department for a crime that used to be among the rarest in the federal court system.Read more …
The Trump Justice Department has secured about two dozen non-citizens voting arrests, prosecutions or convictions in the last few months alone, with about another 90 more cases under investigation, officials told Just the News. And all 50 states were sent notices this month that election officials can and will be prosecuted too if they allow non-citizens to vote.“It isn’t just bad policy to let non-citizens vote in federal elections, it’s a crime. And this Department of Justice will intend to prosecute that crime if these election officials, having been informed that they are non-citizens on the voter rolls, knowingly allow those people to vote, enable their enrollment on the voter rolls, are passive in the face of this knowledge, etc. This is not some idle threat,” Assistant Attorney General for Ciril Rights Harmeet Dhillon told the Just the News, No Noise television show.
DOJ officials have found three major problems in policing states’ voter rolls ahead of the 2026 election: hundreds of thousands of dead people still eligible to vote, tens of thousands of illegal aliens on the rolls and scores of foreigners having gone beyond registering to, in fact, vote in a federal election, which is illegal. Dhillon, the top election cop inside the DOJ, believes the numbers of foreigners illicitly voting in elections is probably higher but has been frustrated that U.S. Attorney offices across the country haven’t made illegal voting a larger priority until just recently. “
We are trying to empty an ocean with a teaspoon because there isn’t a culture of U.S. attorneys going after these,” she explained. That’s changing with the sudden explosion of cases.Just before the 250th American birthday celebration, three non-United States citizens in Florida confessed to having knowingly voted in federal elections despite not being eligible to do so. Federal law requires voters to be American citizens to vote on the federal level, but some states and cities allow non-citizens to vote in local elections.
The three non-citizens voted in Florida and two of them – one from Cuba and the other from Haiti — admitted to voting in 2020 federal elections. The third, a Brazilian, voted in a federal election in 2024 after becoming a lawful permanent resident. “Voting in federal elections is one of the most important rights and responsibilities of American citizenship,” U.S. Attorney Jason Reding Quiñones, for the Southern District of Florida, said in a statement. “Federal law is clear: only United States citizens may vote in federal elections. These defendants admitted that they knowingly violated that law.”

• Lindsey Graham Was A Monster, But Not Exceptional (Amar)
Lindsey Graham is dead. And if we were to apply the old Spartan and then Roman adage “about the dead, nothing but the good,” then this is where this text would have to end. Some readers may find this shocking or unkind. But it is a fact that there is no way to write about the intriguingly sudden end of the long-term US senator from South Carolina in a ‘balanced’ manner and stay honest. Graham was an almost cartoonishly evil man and since he was also very powerful, his moral depravity made a big difference to the lives of all too many.Read more …
Downplaying that fact out of misplaced piety would be perverse; it would mean to disrespect the many victims of perfidious and brutal US and, in fact, Israeli policies of vicious violence and outrageous injustice that Graham promoted with every fiber of his being for his whole political life. During the Gaza genocide, when challenged specifically about the Israeli mass killings of civilians, including women and children, Graham launched into what can only be called a psychopathic rant comparing the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians with American warfare against Germany in Japan in World War II (an intriguing comparison in and of itself, but that is another matter) and drawing the conclusion that Gaza should be flattened, including with nuclear weapons.Gaza has been flattened, and to his dying day, Graham never showed an ounce of compassion for those slaughtered by his Israeli friends and did everything he could to support that slaughter. That is, of course, also why internationally wanted war criminal – really genocidaire – Benjamin Netanyahu rushed to offer his public condolences.
Speaking of Graham’s obvious subservience to Israel, the senator was, unsurprisingly, also a great fan of going to war with Iran, tirelessly calling for attacking it as violently as possible. He spread the Orwellian lies that Iran was about to pose a nuclear threat to the US and that its ballistic missile arsenal was a tool of reckless aggression, all to produce domestic support for yet another criminal American war. Himself addicted to hiding his foul character behind a bigoted and utterly fake Christian piety, Graham compared Iran’s leaders to Hitler and called them “religious Nazis,” thereby not merely offending brave men towering above him in moral and intellectual terms, but also helping to drum up propaganda for murdering them.
It is an irony of history or, maybe, divine justice that he lived just long enough to see the US follow his insane and corrupt advice and suffer a geopolitically catastrophic defeat for it. Yet Graham was a monster long before the Gaza Genocide and the US-Israeli war against Iran. He was obsessed with brutalizing as many other countries and societies as possible. He could not see an opportunity for a war and not do his worst to make it happen. Graham’s record of warmongering is so extensive that it is hard to reproduce it in its entirety. Just shortly before his end, he had been calling for more US violence in Cuba, Lebanon, Nigeria, Venezuela, and Yemen – apart, obviously, from his eternal compulsion to scream for, in effect, more dead Palestinians and Iranians.
In true American fashion, if being Graham’s target was terrible, being his ‘friend’ was no better. Ukraine has come to stand for that experience. Even while pretending to be its ardent supporter, Graham was always among those most brutally open about using Ukraine and its people for the geopolitical and commercial interests of the US. He praised opportunities to rob Ukraine of crucial raw materials and he clearly considered pumping money into its ultra-corrupt Zelensky regime a great deal as it produced dead Russians (and, he failed to mention, Ukrainians, too, of course).

Apparently, there’s some case playing out right now. Why only RT reports on it, I do not know.
”The son of the previous US president was awarded $1.7 million in damages in his dispute with Trump ally Patrick Byrne..”
“..Biden brought Byrne to court over repeated claims that he sought an $800 million bribe from Iran during his father’s presidency “..
• Hunter Biden Wins Defamation Suit Over ‘Iran Bribery’ Claims (RT)
A US federal judge on Friday awarded Hunter Biden $1.7 million in damages in a defamation suit against Patrick Byrne, former Overstock.com CEO and outspoken backer of US President Donald Trump. The lawsuit had been dragging on since 2023, when Biden brought Byrne to court over repeated claims that he sought an $800 million bribe from Iran during his father’s presidency. Byrne alleged that in exchange for the massive payout, Biden promised to get some $8 billion in Iranian funds unfrozen and to ensure a softer stance in nuclear talks with Tehran.Read more …
While Byrne has insisted he believed the allegations to be genuine, he failed to “provide to this court, throughout the course of litigation, any documentary evidence that could allow a reasonable person to believe the story to be true,” the judge said in his ruling. Moreover, the court found “ample evidence” indicating the defendant knew the claims were false but spread them nonetheless. The claims disseminated by the defendant “went far beyond mere negligence,” and the former CEO acted with “intentional misrepresentation” and “conscious disregard,” continuing to spread the claims even after he was sued by Hunter and encouraging social media users to propagate them further.“The evidence is clear and convincing that [Byrne] has engaged in intentional misrepresentation with conscious disregard towards [Biden’s] rights,” the judge wrote in the ruling, which awarded Hunter $1.7 million in punitive damages. The legal team of the ex-president’s son hailed the ruling as a “complete vindication” for their client against the “false statements” made by Byrne. “As found by the court, Byrne had no basis to say that Hunter had any involvement with Iran whatsoever,” Hunter’s attorney Bryan Sullivan said in a statement.
Over the past years, Biden has been embroiled in assorted legal troubles and claims to have racked up a massive debt primarily stemming from court fees, even despite his father granting him a pardon for convictions on federal gun and tax charges in the last days of his presidency. Byrne is no stranger to controversy either, being one of the central figures of the scandal involving Russian gun activist Maria Butina, with whom he admitted to having an intimate relationship. Butina was ultimately convicted of “conspiring to act as an unregistered foreign agent” and expelled to Russia after serving a prison term.
The affair prompted Byrne to step down from his executive role in 2019, with the businessman focusing primarily on political activism ever since. He has strongly supported US President Trump, including by backing the allegations that the latter was cheated out of the 2020 election win, as well as bankrolling legal efforts to challenge the outcome.

Before I saw the RT coverage, I wrote:
Jonathan Turley omits to explain why he is dealing with this right now. Isn’t this 2-3 years old? Is there a new case we should all know about?
• The Absurdity of the Hunter Biden Defamation Case (Turley)
I have taught torts, including defamation for over 30 years, but I have never seen the like of the Hunter Biden defamation case. The defendant made defamatory statements and then just refused to appear. That led to an equally bizarre $1.7 million award by U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson of the Central District of California to Biden, consisting of just $1 in nominal damages and the rest in punitive damages. Here is the most interesting line of the opinion: “the damage to Plaintiff’s reputation is difficult to calculate.” It may be the single greatest understatement in the history of judicial opinions.Read more …
However, the court also noted “Plaintiff does not seek actual damages above a nominal amount.” That means that Hunter Biden’s counsel, in a default case, elected not to argue for compensatory damages due to loss of reputation. Why would he do that? It might be that he has little reputation to lose and that opening up that part of the case was fraught with perils. However, it also created a potential major appellate issue. His counsel was making it clear that they were litigating purely for punitives. For Hunter Biden, this is a much-needed windfall. His art sales notably collapsed with the value of currying favor to the Bidens. He is reportedly being pursued by creditors, including former counsel. The question is whether the award will stand. For many critics, Hunter Biden is virtually ‘libel proof” as an individual who has no reputation to lose. However, as we have previously discussed, that status is reserved for the most reviled personalities who cannot be defamed due to the lack of any positive reputation.
Judge Wilson, a Reagan appointee, admits in his opinion that determining reputational harm to someone like Biden is difficult to do and further recognizes the argument that “prior tarnishing of Plaintiff’s reputation may reduce the reprehensibility of Defendant’s conduct.” The case involves a claim by former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne that Biden took part in an $800 million bribery scheme involving Iran and failed to defend his claims in court. Hunter Biden has long been accused of influence peddling that generated millions for him and his family. I have been one of his longest critics as part of a corrupt family enterprise.
However, this claim was not one of those that his critics, and Congress, focused on during the Biden years. There is no evidence that he took a bribe or payment in a quid pro quo for releasing the money to Iran. The lawsuit was part of a flurry of such actions brought against Biden’s critics. Most were later dismissed, but played a part in the scorched-earth campaign of Biden. I was even threatened with such an action after criticizing his counsel and financial backer, Kevin Morris. As Biden dropped the other lawsuits, this one continued to be litigated. It was an easy kill. Byrne simply did not defend himself and defaulted. That left the matter to Judge Wilson, who was clearly irate.
The opinion recounts an extraordinary pile-up as Byrne sought to replace lawyers: “Defendant initially attempted to replace Mr. Murphy with three new lawyers: Eric Neff, Tom Yu, and Stefanie Lynn Lambert Junttila. ECF Nos. 290, 291, 292. Ms. Lambert was not a member of the California Bar, and her application to appear pro hac vice was denied2 due to her recent history of unethical conduct, which gave the Court reason to doubt she would abide by the Court’s rules and practices. ECF No. 295. When Defendant learned that Ms. Lambert was not qualified to represent him in this case, Defendant also instructed Mr. Neff and Mr. Yu to remove themselves.
Moreover, Defendant himself, now unrepresented, still failed to appear at trial. Accordingly, the Court issued an order to show cause why it should not enter default judgment against Defendant and ordered the parties to return the following day. At that hearing, on July 30, 2025, Defendant again failed to appear. Mr. Yu, who was not authorized to represent Defendant at trial, argued on Defendant’s behalf for a continuance, in lieu of default judgment.”

How Khamenei’s last act is defeating NATOstan
Contact us: info@strategic-culture.su
That was entirely predictable.
Baboon of Barbaria and his minions broke their pledge to waive oil sanctions on Iran. The commitment was revoked by the Treasury Dept.
They broke the wobbly ceasefire – with strikes on Iran’s southern coastal posts; Iran responded; the US doubled down; and the escalation ladder is back.
They broke the understanding on navigating the Strait of Hormuz with serial tanker provocations: the IRGC Navy responded in kind.
They broke – via the death cult – the MoU pledge to end the war “on all fronts including Lebanon”.
Baboon of Barbaria signed the MoU with much fanfare in Versailles and in trademark nasty, brutish manner, broke it during the extended funeral ceremonies of assassinated Leader Ayatollah Khamenei – with tens of millions of Iranians demonstrating total national cohesion, alongside Iraqis in Najaf and Karbala.
Total Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz is back in effect.
And the Bab el-Mandeb may be next.
All that was proceeding in conjunction with the NATO summit in Ankara – where Trump declared, frothing at the mouth, and hysterically angry, that the ceasefire was “over” and described Iranian politicians, in neo-Crassus mode, as “scum” and “liars”, “vicious, violent people”. Talk about narcissistic self-projection.
It was so fitting for Baboon of Barbaria to re-escalate the war straight out of a summit of the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization. CENTCOM targets include Iran’s civilian infrastructure and connectivity corridors. Certified terror tactics.
It’s always crucial to re-emphasize that the NATO war on Russia and the American war on Iran are declinations of the same imperial war against sovereign civilization-states deeply implicated in Eurasia integration.
Cue to that ghastly NATO Secretary-General, Tutti Frutti al-Rutti, giving the game away, describing Europe as “one big platform of power projection for the United States”: after all “5,000 planes had taken off from European airports” to support the American war on Iran.
Here it is, for anyone with an IQ over 50 across the West to understand: NATO is no more than a – vassalized – launch pad for the Empire of Chaos, Plunder and Piracy.
Baboon of Barbaria was not impressed by the Dutch clown. On the contrary: he vociferated against Italy – “very bad” – for not opening its bases; against the UK because it only opened a few; threatened Spain with a trade cutoff since Madrid closed its airspace to the war last March; and added his “need” to gobble up Greenland.
That’s how the Empire treats the vassal “platform”: as “scum”.
NATO to Europeans: “Let Them Eat Drones”
The short headline to describe the NATO summit in Ankara is “Let Them Eat Drones”. The message is directed to every European taxpayer across the spectrum.
NATO wants every member-state to turn into a war economy, with each nation paying a hefty 5% of GDP to host US bases used to attack the proverbial “existential threats” to the Empire: Russia, Iran, China.
Follow the money. There’s no money. None of these impecunious member-states can possibly meet the 5% threshold of GDP for weapons. None of them are stupid enough to believe they need to go to war against China. They are absolutely clueless on how to react to the massive strategic defeat Iran inflicted on the US.
Yet everybody was in a jolly good mood when it comes to keep prosecuting their war against Russia – which anyone with a brain knows it’s lost – plunging extra $70 billion on black hole Ukraine for it to go on till the last Ukrainian.
Now compare all this Western compounded dementia with the astonishing spectacle of the millions in the streets of Tehran, Qom and Mashhad – and in Najaf and Karbala in Iraq – paying their respects to the late, assassinated Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
There could not be a more graphic depiction of civilization against barbarism.
The farewell ceremony in the sacred Abbash shrine in Karbala highlighted the deep connection between the crucial religious/spiritual centers in Iran and Iraq: in a nutshell, Shi’ite unity also extrapolating as a demonstration of soft power, because Sunnis and Christians were also paying their respects.
Translation: the Salafi-jihadi fringe was relegated to the dustbin. And that’s the key reason why the usual suspects, in panic, needed to re-start the kinetic assault against Persia. They simply cannot afford a West Asia-wide regional rejection of their barbarism.
Cue to the usual suspects using Qatari (Al Udeid) and Saudi (Prince Sultan) bases and airspaces to attack Iranian targets and re-detonate Arab-Persian and Sh‘ite-Sunni Divide and Rule.
Tehran had reached an understanding with both Qatar and Abu Dhabi weeks ago: Iran would not bomb them in exchange for the release of frozen Iranian funds. Same with Riyadh – in exchange for improved diplomatic relations. Pakistani mediators are now breaking their backs to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
Khamenei’s last extraordinary act
Over and over again we will have to keep coming back to the meaning of the multi-million, extended march of solid national cohesion unleashed by the rituals/ceremonies linked to assassinated Ayatollah Khamenei.
That was not only a tribute – from every background and every social class – to one of the key spiritual/political leaders of the late 20th/early 21st century.
Over 100 nations sent high-level delegations to the ceremonies. A who’s who of the Global South was represented. Russia sent the number two in government, Medvedev Unplugged, as Putin’s personal envoy. China sent its senior parliamentary leadership. Pakistan sent its Prime Minister side by side with powerful Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Central Asia, the Caucaus, West Asia, even the Taliban deputy Foreign Minister, they were all there. Not a single NATOstan vassal sent a delegation. Well, after all Iran’s Foreign Ministry did not invite any Western nation that backed the American war.
On top of it, everyone with a brain across the Global South knows that these Western “liberal democracies” are being plunged by their unspeakably mediocre elites into the darkest pit of nihilistic moral collapse.
Iran anyway, as a rising, re-emerging regional and Global South power, with its domestic cohesion fully reaffirmed, even under tremendous challenges, does not need them. Russia, China, Pakistan, Turkiye, the Central Asians, that was emerging multipolarity attending a funeral and posing for one of the definitive photographs of the New Great Game.
So yes: we should consider the extraordinary scenes this week in Iran and Iraq as Khamenei’s last – extraordinary – act. Defiance. Resilience. Sovereignty. Dignity. It’s as if his intuition had told him that would inexorably happen; as if he was comforted by the larger-than-life meaning his assassination would have for Iran.
Beyond all the crassness, the lies and the furious anger displayed by the barbarian empire, this is the week that will pass into History as Iran solidifying its status as a surefire civilization-state – proud of its deep history and national cohesion.
No wonder Barbaria fears the Persians so much.
And then of course there’s China – which supported the nearly flatlined MoU from the beginning, and now recognizes why Tehran could not care less anymore.
While no one was watching, Beijing expanded their yuan liquidity pool to $500 billion (doubled Bond Connect quotas); launched a gold clearing hub in Hong Kong; and announced yuan-denominated gold futures.
The Bank of China clearly sees how global yuan demand is expanding beyond trade into “investment, financing, pricing” and, crucially,” reserve holdings.” Translation: accelerated de-dollarization. Barbaria better be set for a rude awakening.

Wanted: Agents of Intelligence and Reason!!
Dennis SpeedJuly 13, 2026 . 10:59 PM
Sometimes, “being reasonable” is the most revolutionary thing an individual, and certainly a population or nation, can do. An epidemic of Reason breaking out among the people of the United States, in the 250th year of the nation’s birth, would be most welcome by the rest of the world.
It is, for example, entirely unreasonable to allow section 219 of the National Defense Authorization Act to be passed by a Congress that, in so doing, renders itself powerless in the very matters of war and peace, for which it, as representatives of the American people—not monied lobbies—and no other branch of government, or unelected civil service, or permanent bureaucracy, must be held accountable, according to the Constitution of the United States. That is, it is not within the powers of the Congress, by its passing what should be called the “Jonathan Pollard U.S.-Israel War Technology Cooperation Initiative” to arbitrarily abdicate, to decide to not be the Congress, to repudiate the powers of that body. That would require a deliberate alteration of the Constitution of the United States. A passage of House Section 219 (and its counterpart, Senate Section 1217) would be treason against the nation, and the world.
Independent Presidential candidate Diane Sare, former Congressman Dennis Kucinich, and now several others have pointed this out. Now, the most reasonable among the American people—as well as those outside of the United States who realize the danger such an action poses to the world— must take unified action, by any and all appropriate means, to reverse this course.
It is essential that the people be reasonable, since the Trump Presidential Administration is not. Helga Zepp-LaRouche yesterday reported, “Now, obviously, the NATO summit, which just concluded in Ankara, was fraught with absurdities as well. I think the most ridiculous statement coming out of the summit was by Trump, who said that there was so much love in the air in this meeting. Now, how you can have love in the presence of all of these warmongers is very difficult to imagine, but he claims that this was happening. And obviously he’s very happy, because he got these stupid Germans, namely Pistorius and Merz, to buy the Tomahawk cruise missile for at least $1.2 billion, plus a couple of millions. While before, Biden had basically promised that these Tomahawk missiles would be put there in Germany for nothing, because it’s obviously in the very interest of whoever is the war faction in the United States, and totally contrary to the interest of Germany, which is being made a prime target for such a medium-range, nuclear-capable first-strike missile, which heightens the security problems of Germany. But now instead, Germany is paying for it.
“But, if you think about it, in the previous design, it was part of a multi-domain operation concept, to which belonged satellites, intelligence, electronic warfighting, cyber capabilities, data fusion, aiming, and far-reaching precision strikes, were all part of one coherent package. And the Tomahawk was the top of the spear. Now, Germany is buying the top without the spear, having all the costs, and it’s completely insane. So, it’s naturally clear that Trump is happy to sell that, but it just shows you the insanity.”
“O judgement!! thou art fled to Brutish beasts, And men have lost their reason.” Would that Shakespeare’s admonition in Mark Antony’s Act Three speech in Julius Caesar might enlighten those that should wonder how the mass assassination policies of the Israeli regime and the American government carried out in Iran actually resulted in the largest assembly ever recorded in human history—over 40 million people in Iran. Millions of those people believed they were possibly walking to their deaths, and assembled nonetheless.
“The awful Shadow of some unseen Power floats, though unseen, among us.” Members of the Epstein class deny that power exists. That power, and the Power of Reason, by the way, are actually identical. In the document “Quo Vadis, Humanitas?” (https://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/cti_documents/rc_cti_doc_20260304_quo-vadis-humanits_en.html#3._The_focus_of_the_document:_an_engagement_with_the_challenges_of_trans-_and_post-humanism issued by the Vatican’s International Theological Commission, the authors state that “The purpose of this document is not only to offer a discernment capable of weighing the anthropological consequences of techno-scientific discoveries and the corresponding ethical choices of people and societies today…. The theoretical-practical nature of theology encompasses the proclamation of faith (kerygma) and education in a vision of humanity, in dialogue with scientific progress, in which everything that is good can be integrated.” Such “heavy ideas” have always been the province of the Executive Intelligence Review, and its founder and “chief intelligence officer,” the late economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche. In 1983, he observed:
“In popular jargon, and unfortunately, also amongst some elements of our political intelligence community, there is an obsession with the modern American habit of demanding that reality and ideas come in popularly advertised brand-name packages, with contents explained in the same simplistic terms as a typical ‘Madison Avenue’ advertising slogan.… The sort of person who insists that his facts should come in popularly advertised brand-labeled packages should not expose himself to the mental anguish he will suffer in confronting even the simple day-to-day truths of routine counterintelligence work. On this level, the world is very complicated; in this realm, there are few allies, and almost no one operates openly under the brand label of the one, two, or three interests he ultimately serves.”
Once, in a conversation about challenging people to change the world through organizing others to think about “heavy ideas,” LaRouche referred to the often-stated complaint about his “long policy papers” and “complicated” presentations. He proposed, “The way to respond to that, is to pose this question: ‘Maybe you are too uncomplicated to survive?’” Executive Intelligence Review was created to qualify any thinking person to discover and adopt solutions, to “know what to do,” including how to create a New Security and Development Architecture, as is discussed by Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche in her Ten Principles for a New Security And Development Architecture (https://chinese.larouchepub.com/en/2022/12/hzl-10principles-eng/).
A Council of Reason is immediately needed. It must be assembled from citizens, particularly young citizens from around the world, and those that believe in the world-historic importance of the international revolution of 250 years ago, summarized in the American Declaration of Independence. That began a process which Indonesia’s Sukharno called, at the First Summit of Non-Aligned Nations in 1955, “the first successful anti-colonial revolution in history.” It is not enough to, as India is presently doing, close down places like the “Jaipur Polo Ground, where King Charles III, then Prince of Wales, had played,” and other symbols of British colonial rule. It is Winston Churchill’s “empire of the mind” that must be defeated by the power of Reason, and a Council of Reason that knows, and acts upon “what is to be done.”

Iran targets UAE-linked tankers after Hormuz navigation violations
Iran’s IRGC says it targeted two supertankers in the Strait of Hormuz after the vessels violated maritime navigation regulations, amid heightened regional tensions.
…..Reports stated that two UAE-linked supertankers, Mombasa and Al-Bahiya, turned off their navigation systems in an attempt to travel through a restricted route, threatening maritime security, and were subsequently targeted as a result of the move.
The supertankers were registered in Liberia and managed by the Abu Dhabi-based ADNOC Logistics and Services, both of which were targeted while traveling near Omani waters in the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz……

Did anyone search/find the 2 page letter of Trump declaring war on Iran?
❌ The orange pedophile announced the united failed states will resume their hapless naval blockade of Iran. Meanwhile, the 20% tolls he was begging for yesterday have been shelved as it’s ‘Taco Tuesday’.
So says Lord of War. Hmmmmmmm
It’s conditional on Gulf States investing into USA economy apparently. “Based on highly productive conversations with Middle East leadership, I have decided to replace the 20% United States Reimbursement Fee with Trade and Investment Deals that the various Gulf States will be making into the United States. Those Investments will be MASSIVE but, at the same time, extraordinarily good for them, and their future. As everyone is aware, we have the largest Dollar Investment into the United States, of any Country in History, but these new Investments will make that Number even larger, and we will see Factories, Plants, and Equipment pour into the United States at Historic levels, which will create additional millions of High Paying AMERICAN Jobs! America is WINNING again, winning like never before. The days of Iran killing hundreds of thousands of people, including 52,000 protestors, are OVER and, most importantly, IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

Trump’s costly attacks on Iran will be paid for by wealthy Arab allies Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Prince Salman.
(error – LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL, It will come from an increase in the price of oil. Therefore, from you.)
I asked copilot to Verify: Iran responded to U.S. attack by firing Ballistic Missiles & Drones at: – Satcom, arms depot & US forces building at HMS Jufair, Bahrain – 5th fleet (From where Naval Drones were fired) fuel tanks, Patriot radar, C-RAM, Early warning system, Bahrain – “Important” US Bases in Jordan
Short answer:
Yes — Iran did launch ballistic missiles and drones at U.S. military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan, and the targets you listed match what multiple independent news outlets reported, with one important caveat: some details come from IRGC claims that were not independently verified.

Response to US strikes will exceed retaliation, Iran deputy FM says
Iran’s response to US strikes will not be proportional and will instead make Washington “regret” its actions, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on Tuesday in remarks published by Iran’s official media on X.
“Iran’s response to US aggression will not be proportional; rather, it will make them regret it,” he said.

Certainly a difference of opinion. No one notices, it’s not being reported by people who hate Trump. How odd.
“Col. Jacques Baud: U.S. Strikes Iran’s Nuclear Plant — Iran Unleashes Massive Gulf Retaliation”
Which we also don’t seem to notice or care. I mean, shouldn’t Bahrain and UAE be like…reacting or something? I mean Iran isn’t hitting US at all. So if they’re hitting anyone I guess it’s their neighbors? I take my lead from them, the Muslims. The bases they’ve been hitting are empty. Trump has wanted to remove us from them since the 80s.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand neither any mention nor any strikes on Israel. What Israel? I don’t know any Israel, Israel who? What’s up Iran? I thought they were the little satan, but it’s Qatar now? Iran: Only bombs Muslims. Fair enough.
“tried to slip a convoy of four vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, via Omani waters,”
Thanks Strategic Culture, so Iran attacked and invaded Oman. Got it. Is that a problem? So Iran is next going to stop ships traveling in Spanish waters or Baltic waters? They get to decide who goes through other people’s waters and this is good and normal now?
By the way, if you want to say the U.S. also doesn’t get to decide who goes in whose waters, I’m all for it. I just want the rules to be the same for everyone.
“Essentially, Trump has plunged into an escalatory trap, seemingly in part out of pique at his collapsing polls at home.”
Uhhh, no. He WANTS to bomb the new things we’ve seen on satellite and need an excuse, AND his poll numbers are better than ever, thanks. Oil is dropping with gold, silver, USD up, Stocks rising nicely. Trump aches for an excuse to bomb them, any excuse, because every hit removes more limited assets from the board. And that’s not terror is the sense of war: they can stop at any time: Stop blowing up random merchant vessals that aren’t you’rn.
“We warn the leaders of regional countries that any cooperation with the United States or providing logistical support to its aggressive army will be considered a declaration of war against Iran.”
Whereupon the Gulf states said “Duh, we already know” and “We’re the ones asking the U.S. to make war for us.”
Then everyone shouted, “Israel who?” again.
“Iran has always been the GUARDIAN of the Strait and will remain so FOREVER. “
What the literal. Iran is the Guardian of the OMANI waters? Um, is OMAN aware of this and their munificent benefactors, the Iranians, taking this poor, hard ocean off Oman’s hands?
This is in addition to Iran THREATENING the waters non-stop for 47 years should anyone f—k with them, and perhaps rightfully so. But that is not what “Guardianship” means. You can’t have both.
Tell you what: Oman is being the guardian of IRANIAN waters right now, and outsourcing enforcement to the United States as their mercenaries. So you’re welcome. Oman is your one-stop shop for sailing needs.
Does anyone not see how silly this is? Can we get back to first principles now?
“Trump Formally Notifies Congress Of Iran War Resumption – Third Consecutive Night Of Strikes Ensue
Trump solves my question since he’s literate and reporters and pundits aren’t. Okay then. Congress doesn’t have to accept that date, but it’ll only be a day or two either way. Sadly, Iran played into his hands, as they are dragging out the MoU to jerk him around for the midterms. He then uses it to stop the war clock on them. We’ve seen this elsewhere, like every violation he uses as an excuse to bomb 80:1.
I’m not making a moral point on that, it’s just strategy. We’ve finally stopped hearing that Iran won and is dictating the terms that Iran also won’t accept. And also mostly that there is no plan at all. So we’re on level three, which is that he’s winging it. Okay, that one might actually be true, but there are no pre-planned chess games, you know. That one is only judged by success.
And again, no Israel. What Israel? I never heard of no Israel. Iran can totally hit Israel, totes, they’re just being super-swell guys and choose not to, ’cause they love Jews n’ stuff.
Yes, they changed and back-rev’d that Trump WAS completely obedient to Israel, but someone talked to him and of course Trump does whatever the last person who talked to him says. …Sadly if Trump is this retarded, the entire constellation of political actors are MORE retarded, and don’t just keep a line of people talking to him that suggest what they want. Odd. So their solution is “All you have to do with Trump is talk to him”, yet this is too complicated for them. Speak? What Lawyer, Congressman, politician or General SPEAKS for a living? Surely you jest.
…But I am happy Taco Tuesday argument of “Forever bomb” is gone, and those two others. Whew. We might have returned to “Wars suck, let’s not have them” at last which is relatively reasonable.
They don’t’ feel the need to explain the “What Israel” issue right now, because, “Israel who?”
“The US-Iran MoU appears to have collapsed sooner than we had thought.
• With both sides striking the other, US efforts will turn to ensuring energy can flow through Hormuz ‘the hard way’ via escorting ships through it. — RaboBank
They do this because Iran has run out of ammunition. They found TWO whole missiles this month. No, we couldn’t stop them. That’s why we famously weren’t in the straits before now. The argument, “Iran has infinity hypersonic missiles, and an invisible everything-proof force field, they’re just CHOOSING not to attack anything, biding their time” is getting a little thin.
Is there any difference between someone who Can’t fight and someone who Won’t fight?
On the flip side, I think they’re doing well, I mean about 1/3 as well as I expected, but the strategy was sound and they’re giving people in the area a good black eye. That’s fine. It’s just not adequate to win, so they’re merely getting all Persians killed because of 500 British-paid Zealots in an IRGC bunker. Don’t do that. They’re their version of a drug cartel and not related to the legitimate government of Iran nor defend Iran’s people, as they demonstrate daily.
Like most, I believed this was sort of true, but not true to this level. Difference is, I can take the consensus events and adjust and I guess others can’t?
So has the U.S. unconditionally surrendered to Iran or what? Since we surrendered last month, why are we still bombing them? And not, for example, them bombing us?

The Purpose https://drjohnsblog.substack.com/p/the-purpose
“Nothing makes sense” is a common complaint about the current war in the Mideast which is choking global supplies of oil, natural gas, fertilizer and helium to make integrated circuit chips. If we look at the needs of modern global industrial economy, it must shrink from these reductions in fuels, feedstocks, fertilizer and critical materials.
“The Purpose of a thing is What It Does.” Within what framework might the reduction of feedstocks and agricultural fertilizer to the world be the rational decision of some powerful interest group? It won’t be good for stock markets if it keeps up. The world will get the final conclusion of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis if this keeps up long enough (which is an indeterminate time to most of us).
If the end of real economic growth is inevitably near, or just happened without being announced, then groups of powerful people might want to move to selectively choke the flows of fuel and fertilizer to their competitors and adversaries, as is typically done in wartime. (Franklin Roosevelt did this to Japan to push them into attacking the US, so that he would have cause to enter the European war, I have read.) Do we see uneven denial of resources? Do alliance groups seem to be facing off against each other, like EU-NATO-Israel against Russia, China & Iran, for instance?
It continues to be my view that global real economy likely peaked with the last peak of Oil + Condensates last November, following the previous peak of October 2018, which was followed by the “Repo Crisis”, then COVID lockdowns & Bailouts.
Pandemic did not prove to be an adequately robust Control-Narrative, despite best efforts to impose “universal-vaccination” with novel gene-therapy products that increase cancers, heart attacks, strokes, miscarriages and infertility, amongst other ailments. Everybody did not get a biometric vaccine passport and Central Bank Digital Currency with Social-Credit-Scoring, despite best efforts by “The Davos Crowd” and their servants in governments, militaries and industry.
War is the control-narrative which can always work, and can always be escalated to justify mass-murder and deprivation at home. Here we are again.
Is calling Iranian negotiators “unreliable scum” a case of projection? Alex Krainer, Trump’s war machine is going broke!
Trump has been waging narrative warfare, so divorced from truth that it’s actually very revealing!
Donald Trump made one of his most bizarre statements to date saying that, “Yesterday, they had an 11-hour meeting… and everything was agreed to yesterday…” By “they,” Trump apparently meant, his and Iranian negotiators. But what exactly he meant by “everything” that was agreed, remained entirely unclear. It seemed that the point of his statements was to insinuate once more that the Iranians were desperate to cut a deal with the US, but they are terrible negotiators. They’re also very unreliable: “Then they leave the room, call back, and say, ‘We had to make a couple of changes…”…
..Perhaps the most important purpose of Trump’s story was to create the impression that the 11-hour meeting really did take place and the Iranians agreed to stuff they had to backtrack from. Therefore, they are weak and desperate…
..There’s a major problem with Trump’s story: there was no 11-hour meeting on Sunday, either in Qatar or anywhere else, at least none between any US and Iranian representatives...
..If you’re struggling on the battlefield, what could possibly be the point of lying about it and pretending that you’re in control and winning? … Well, probably because admitting defeat could end the war prematurely (for some interests), discourage recruits and mercenaries from joining, tear apart alliances and most importantly, cut short the flow of colossal sums of money that are funding the War machine along with the warlords and weapons merchants...
..This whole approach is reminiscent of Robert Schiller’s “narrative economics” hypothesis. Schiller first published it as a speech on the occasion of his 2017 American Economic Association (AEA) presidential address (published later that same year as an NBER working paper). Two years later, he expanded on the hypothesis in a 2019 book titled, “Narrative Economics: How Stories Go Viral and Drive Major Economic Events.”
In essence, Schiller argued that popular economic narratives – contagious, often simplified and emotionally charged stories – can spread virally, just like epidemics. In doing so, these narratives can significantly influence individual and collective behavior including investing, spending, saving, or policy support, thereby amplifying major economic developments like mass adoption of certain products or services, substitution of others, and even macro events like booms, asset bubbles, busts or recessions.
Once more, we are converging on phenomena of collective human psychology and how it can be influenced through narratives. Once narratives take hold, they can impact real-world outcomes, and perhaps Trump’s rhetoric about the control of the Hormuz Strait should be understood in this way…
..Trump’s bizarre rhetoric is also quite revealing and there’s much to read into it. The wording of his TruthSocial post about the USA becoming “THE GUARDIAN OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT” reads like a foreshadowing of his intent to shake down the Gulf sheikdoms to help pay for the Iran war, in the amount of 20% of the value of cargoes passing through the strait. That may be a bit aggressive, but since the allies’ money is sitting in Western financial institutions, they would have no choice about any “fair” deductions from their balances. After all, the charges would be for their own protection and security.
This will inevitably alienate US Middle Eastern allies, so why did Trump use that language, and why now? As it turns out, US Defense Department appears to be rapidly running out of cash while the costs of war are mounting relentlessly... In squeezing his allies, Trump made it quite plain—not only that limitations exist, but that we’re getting there fast...
..Yesterday’s announcement didn’t have the desired effect and the oil price soared nearly 9%. In today’s pre-open session, it’s up another 3.5%, fully $10/bbl higher than Friday’s close, which translates into about $0.24/gallon at the pump. Another, “Iranians are desperate to make a deal” announcement might become necessary soon. It remains to be seen if the markets will buy it the 24th time. https://alexkrainer.substack.com/p/trumps-war-machine-is-going-broke
Alastair Crooke, Iran War 3.0 – A market downturn in the U.S. – exacerbated by an energy crisis – could spell disaster for Trump’s midterm hopes.
Trump may have imagined (or been told) that with the massive funeral for the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei under way, that Iran would not react as the U.S. Navy attempted to force open an American corridor. Trump however, misread the Iranian jibe – Hormuz is its’ ‘atomic weapon’. Iran will not relinquish it.
Trump insists – in clear contradiction to the terms set out in paragraph five of the MoU – that Iran has no right to interfere with any ship trying to transit the Strait of Hormuz. Iran nonetheless is acting within the terms of the agreed de-escalation framework, and has warned repeatedly that it would strike any vessel circumventing the Iranian control mechanism.
Iran responded directly to Trump’s challenge to Iranian control of the Strait by striking two vessels with missiles and a third with an armed drone. A forth Qatari-owned tanker, laden with liquefied natural gas, was set ablaze, forcing its crew to abandon the stricken vessel…
..Vice-President Vance is saying if Iran restricts Hormuz (i.e. it stays open to friendly states’ vessels) the U.S. will escalate. And Iran is responding to this threat by warning that it will escalate militarily – two strikes for every one American strike – and that they may also turn to new doctrines of warfare.
Essentially, Trump has plunged into an escalatory trap, seemingly in part out of pique at his collapsing polls at home. He did, however, directly put himself in this situation by trying to ‘act cute’ during the Khamenei funeral pre-occupations in order to try to gain a ‘quick win’.
How long will this escalatory episode last? Certainly, it will not lead to the opening of the Strait; nor bring a return of the status quo ante that preceded the war. As long as Iran maintains its ability to exert control over Hormuz, there is no basis to assume that the situation will return to what it was…
..Where did this all go wrong? Possibly the crux of it derives from the moment that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Sayyed Mojtaba, issued his statement that he had held a different view on the MoU to that of the negotiating team, but had agreed to proceed with it after receiving an assurance from the Iranian President that he would ensure and take into account Iran’s overarching principles in respect to relations with the U.S..
The Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei’s statement put on notice both the U.S. – and the Iranian negotiators – that Iran’s approval of the MoU was no open mandate, but rather closely tied to the 10 principles originally enunciated by the new Supreme Leader.
At some point, the Iranian leadership seemingly came to the conclusion that Iran was being played by the U.S.; that the MoU was a deception –
“and that the entirety of events since the announcement of the MoU reflected a U.S. strategy based on the view that in the previous round of the war against Iran – [that the U.S. and Israel] failed to achieve their objectives – necessitating a halt to the confrontation, albeit temporarily, in order to regroup and prepare ‘more thoroughly’ for a new round when the right conditions arise”.
This led to the Iranian reassessment that the Hormuz and Lebanon components constituted the vital leverage to engage in a new war as the West ramps up pressure as a holding strategy – whilst the U.S. and Israel prepare for the next round of war.
The interim U.S. strategy is no change to U.S.-Israeli objectives, but rather an adjustment to their operational mechanisms to provide for certain compromises that Washington considers necessary (i.e. closer working with Turkey and via Erdogan to engage Syria’s Jolani) to reshuffle the Lebanon deck, and then to ‘assess how the cards lie’, as Vance outlined.
It is not certain that this new U.S. policy will work. The world is changing rapidly. Their expected triumph of Israel over the Middle East has resulted in failure. Trump’s MoU ploy to open Hormuz likely will fail, too. https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/07/13/iran-war-3-0/
Yves Smith, Naked Capitalism, Iran War: Trump Lashes Himself to Strait of Hormuz Mast With Renewed Blockade, Intensified Attacks on Iran; Oil Crunch Worsens as Iran Halt Fujairah Shipments, Houthis Threaten to Close Bab el-Mandeb
Trump is doubling down on the Iran conflict despite the fact that the narrowing of war aims to merely re-opening the Strait of Hormuz is already an admission of failure. Even though Trump is the undisputed master of double-speak, it seems hard to fathom how he could reverse himself and abandon the war, particularly since the Iranians would make a point of humiliating him.
The press and markets are continuing to downplay the significance of the current escalation. Too many are depicting it as tit for tat, as in more of the same, when that is not accurate. Not only are the strikes and counter-strikes more severe, but the US is hitting targets deeper inside Iran, including uncomfortably close to the Bushehr nuclear plant. Iran has considerably expanded its targets to include Oman and Qatar and is now going after the UAE port of Fujairah to prevent its use as an export route.
Even more significant, in terms of another massive strategic miscalculation, is that, as we described yesterday, Iran defied the 11 year Saudi blockade of Yemen by flying a plane into and out of Sanaa. Iran tried a second run, among other things, to bring some mourners at the funerals of the Supreme Leader back. The plane eventually managed to land despite Saudi Arabia bombing the runway.
Yemen has announced that it will close the Bab el-Mandeb strait. This has ramifications on commerce far beyond the impact on oil exports from the Gulf, as we will explain below. And it comes when Ukraine is successfully interfering with Russian shipping in the Sea of Azov. Even if, as Ukraine skeptics argue, the interference is not all that consequential to Russia and is being addressed, it has led to a halt of diesel exports and has the potential to seriously dent wheat exports when the world is set to enter a period of high prices and shortages due to the one-two of fertilizer and diesel price hikes plus a super El-Nino.
The only sort-of-sensible explanations so for for Trump’s conduct (ex that if push comes to shove, he will greenlight Israel using nukes) is that he believes he can bring Iran to heel with another three to four weeks of punishment and perhaps some economic privation. Robert Pape has described long form that punishment campaigns do not work. On top of that, we are going into this round of escalation in a weaker position from a weapons and oil supply vantage. Iran surely knows that, which is even more reason for them to continue to hang tough. https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2026/07/iran-war-trump-lashes-himself-to-strait-of-hormuz-mast-with-renewed-blockade-intensified-attacks-on-iran-oil-crunch-worsens-as-iran-halt-fujairah-shipments-houthis-threaten-to-close-bab-el-mandeb.html

Simplicius, Empire Thuds Iran Again Amidst Symbols of Calamity
The US is now trapped in this doom-loop of impotence, striking the same insignificant coastal launch sites over and over to no effect merely as a kind of writhing agony of imperial frustration. The breaking point apparently came over Iran’s refusal to give US and Trump the satisfaction of announcing Hormuz’s reopening, as per Trump’s begging demands.
It has set the addled American strongman on another torrent of tilting vexations, wherein he ignominiously piled slur upon slur on the stately Iranians, calling them “scum” and a number of other objectionably unpresidential terms…
..CENTCOM tried its honest best to give authority to Trump’s claims, to no avail—the entire world could see that ships only passed the strait when allowed by Iran…
..Recall that upon arrangement of the previous “ceasefire”, Iran was allowed to offload the tens of millions of barrels of oil that had been accumulating since earlier in the year. This means Iran was able to empty out its entire backlog and restart the storage counter anew, which further means it can now wait out any renewed attempt by Trump to “blockade” the strait with months more of this back and forth charade.
As per usual, Iran is giving back something for everything it receives in the exchange…
..In reality, the US knows it has no real cards to play; the Iranian state has been powerfully reinforced and indurated against US aggression to the point where each round of strikes has increasingly diminishing returns. The late Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral has likewise cemented societal solidarity and spirit around the Iranian government, leaving the US and Israel with few avenues to make any kind of strategic inroads at all against their foe. Trump continues to wave the threat of “total destruction” of Iran’s critical facilities—desalination and nuclear plants, etc.—but these are likely bluffs owing to the knowledge that Iran’s response would likewise cripple the region’s most critical infrastructures as well, which would rebound onto Trump’s administration in extremely deleterious ways.
As a kind of last-ditch armageddon plan, it seems the Israelis could be floating a false-flag of all false-flags given new “assassination threats” against Trump that come at a convenient time...
..Many have inferred the logical conclusion as to what Israel’s desperate last-gasp emergency plan might be, if all else fails and Trump ends up backing down from the plan to destroy Iran for good...
..The problem is, for all the bluster of Trump’s ego as per the above rant, in reality the US military would be legally exempt from following the previous president’s “dead-man’s switch”-style orders, but would instead be held to follow the orders of the immediate successor, the newly-appointed Commander-in-Chief, which in Trump’s above hypothetical case would be JD Vance. https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/empire-thuds-iran-again-amidst-symbols
Uncorroborated scuttlebut: BREAKING: DEEP STATE DESPERATION EXPOSED!
They tried to KILL President Trump mid-flight. On July 9, 2026, as Trump departed Turkey aboard the brand-new Qatari-donated Boeing 747-8 — his future Air Force One — the Deep State launched a cowardly cyber strike from Langley, Virginia. They targeted the plane’s electronic controls in a blatant assassination attempt. But Trump — always ten steps ahead — switched to the older Air Force One at the last second. What the Fake News called a “routine security precaution” was actually a brilliant trap. This was the beginning of the Great Purification. Encrypted comms intercepted. Traitors scrambling. NYT journalists hit with emergency subpoenas because they had obituaries and “air disaster” stories pre-written and ready to publish. They were waiting for the crash. THEY. FAILED. AGAIN. Trump just exposed the entire rat nest. https://x.com/imPascalNajadi/status/2076391417333596621
Countermeasures System Needed for New Air Force One is Standard Issue for Military and Heads of State
The New York Times is reporting that the new Air Force One, a luxury Boeing 747-8 given to the White House by the Qatari government, was left behind after its trip to Europe earlier in the week, when its lack of critical self-protection was determined to be a safety issue. The missing defense technology in question, the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) system, has been virtually standard for all large military, as well as head-of-state, and VVIP aircraft for over twenty years.
Launched in the aftermath of 9/11, LAIRCM was deigned to provide effective defensive capability for transport and tanker aircraft against the IR Man-Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS) threat, which at the time was perceived as very pressing. Since then, the threat has not diminished and has even grown with the rise of armed unmanned systems. The lack of LAIRCM on aircraft important as Air Force One would definitely be justification enough to leave it on the ground, especially now that its vulnerability is world news.
LAIRCM is a laser-jammer-equipped version of the U.S. Navy’s AAQ-24 Directed IR Countermeasure (DIRCM) system which is installed on a wide variety of USSOCOM and U.K. Special Operations C-130s aircraft among others. https://dsm.forecastinternational.com/2026/07/10/countermeasures-system-needed-for-new-air-force-one-is-standard-issue-for-military-and-heads-of-state/

Iran War formally resumed — Congress notified, third night of US strikes. Trump formally notified Congress the US is at war with Iran (KobeissiLetter, zerohedge), giving another 60-day WPR clock. CENTCOM ran a five-hour strike mission across Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa and Bandar Abbas (dana916, zerohedge)…
..Hormuz: two armed tollbooths pointed at each other – The framing everyone landed on: Tehran sells the permit, Washington sells the escort, and neither payment buys passage against the other (shanaka86).
Scale of the 20%: read as cargo value, a 2M-barrel tanker at $80 owes ~$32M per crossing — a confiscatory tax, not a toll (ejmalrai). Iran’s floated fee is ~$1/barrel, i.e. 16x cheaper (TheApeOfGoldST, imetatronink).
“Protection racket at global scale” — ~$100-120B/yr extracted by a power that doesn’t border the strait (SamiAlArian). Lula: “That used to be called piracy”…
..Hormuz blockade reinstated + 20% toll — and Iran agrees in principle. Trump: US is now “Guardian of the Strait,” reimbursed “at the rate of 20% on all cargo shipped,” blockade effective July 14 4PM ET (zerohedge, KobeissiLetter). Iran FM Araghchi: “POTUS is absolutely right… 20% is of course too much. We will be fair” (araghchi)...
..Saudi-Yemen: front reopens — Sana’a airport bombed, Houthis hit Abha
Saudi jets bombed Sana’a airport tarmac to stop an Iranian Mahan Air plane landing (zerohedge, MenchOsint) — the plane simply diverted and landed in Hodeidah anyway (MenchOsint).
Houthis retaliated on Abha airport and King Khalid Air Base with ballistic missiles and drones (war_noir); threatened Saudi “vital infrastructure… oil and gas facilities across their entire extent” (HormuzLetter).
Context: MBS reportedly asked Trump on Friday for backing to hit the Houthis, and got it (BarakRavid). Yemen announced it will close Bab Al Mandab (GeromanAT).
Why it matters for oil: Saudi’s East-West pipeline moves ~7M b/d to the Red Sea to dodge Hormuz — straight into Bab el-Mandeb’s range (shanaka86). Pipelines trade one chokepoint for another...
..Meanwhile the financial side cracked hard overnight: Waller flipped hawkish, gold fell below $4,000, the 30Y hit 5.1%, and Korea’s KOSPI put in a Lehman-tier drop that force-liquidated 320,000+ retail accounts. Big day on every desk. https://no1sdailydigest.substack.com/p/daily-digest-2026-07-14

Rivalries and Anxieties: Reviving the Hejaz Railway between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye
The Hejaz Railway project, seemingly long past, is now being dusted down. In a June 9 memorandum of understanding signed between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, a railway line is envisaged between the two countries that will traverse Jordan and Syria and create a strategic logistics artery linking the Gulf states to Europe.
For Israel, this has more than tickled a nerve. Rather than seeing it as a healthy instance of regional competition on matters relating to transport and trade, a reinvigorated Hejaz railway is seen as threatening to the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
Launched in September 2023, the IMEC, unsurprisingly, positions Israel as the central transit hub linking the Gulf to Europe. But Israeli diplomacy and initiatives have suffered of late, notably after the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas which saw a retributive war, not only against the Palestinians in Gaza, but Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and the illegal war launched against Iran in collusion with the United States on February 28.
What is particularly curious in the fearful critiques offered by Israeli figures is the implicit suggestion that Israel’s own economic plans and schemes are somehow free of a political, strategic, even security sting. Underlying this is the implicit suggestion that Israel’s claims to logistical and economic supremacy as a transit hub should be beyond competition from any rivals. Consider, for instance, the views of former Israeli Communications and Media Minister Ayoub Kara, who automatically assumes that the Hejaz Railway project is of a military nature and should be guarded against.
“Any cooperation built on security and military ties that is aimed at undermining Israel is a cause for concern,” he told MBN.
Much the same view is held by Mendi Safadi, a member of the ruling Likud Party and head of the Israeli Safadi Center for International Diplomacy, Research, Public Relations and Human Rights. Not missing a trick, Safadi thought it wise to make the railway project something greater than a threat to Israel’s own interests. While there would be “both security and economic risks” to the Jewish state, Europeans also had reason to worry. “Turkey could use this trade corridor as leverage to advance its political objectives.” In an economic world of Trumpian self-interest and exploitation, such a statement comes across as quaint.
Israel’s Transportation Minister, Miri Regev, has led the pack in fussing about the project in the broader context of Israel’s security environment. In a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, she anxiously claimed that
“we are witnessing a rapid transformation of regional partnerships in trade and energy that deliberately bypass Israel and pose a genuine strategic threat to national security.”
The Hejaz Railway project, as well as “additional bypass corridors” threatened “to permanently render the Israeli route obsolete.” Were such “bypass scenarios” to be realised, Israel would be left “outside the map of global trade”. https://www.globalresearch.ca/reviving-hejaz-railway/5933219

Gilbert Doctorow, Emmanuel Macron’s ‘Anti-ballistic Missile Coalition’ and the Russia-Ukraine war
Macron’s gathering in Paris yesterday was clearly timed to make practical use of the visits of a number of high-ranking guests to the Bastille Day parade today. These guests include Sir Keir Starmer, outgoing PM of the United Kingdom, and Ukraine’s President Zelensky.
As I say in the News X World interview, the creation of an ABM coalition is not at all what it claims to be. The stated intention is to provide Ukraine with mutually designed and manufactured air defense systems having the functionality of America’s short-in-supply Patriot and costing a small fraction of the price of Patriots. This would, they say, bring down Russian ballistic missiles and enable Ukraine to defend itself after a truce or peace is reached. It would also help the Europeans in their plan to create a protective dome over the Continent...
..Ukraine was the main development and production center of Soviet strategic arms and it has the skill sets and even factory floors to lead the way not only for itself but also for Europe if the financing and technical cooperation is put in place.
To that I say, the argument is based on surmise, not on facts. Yes, Ukraine was a major participant in the Soviet defense industry right up to the collapse of the USSR, but one might ask how many of those experts remain in place. After all, Ukraine has lost more than a third, maybe half of its population to flight abroad – both to Russia in the East and to Germany, Poland and other countries to the West. And the security of existing and planned military factories in Ukraine is problematic. The model factory producing both missiles and drones which the late Senator Lindsey Graham visited last Friday was just a few hours later completely destroyed by a Russian missile attack.
The idea that there is an effective defense against Russia’s present day hypersonic missiles is folly. Patriot installations in Ukraine themselves have been destroyed by unstoppable Russian missiles. And ballistic missiles are only part of the threat against which you have to defend today: a large part of the destructive attacks both Russians and Ukrainians are now making on the other side are by swarms of drones…
..Hence, my conclusion stated on the News X interview is that the Coalition will only serve the purpose of feeding money to European military manufacturers while providing no practical benefit to European or Ukrainian defense…
..In my interview with Press TV, I was given the opportunity to discuss points which Middle East expert Alastair Crooke set out convincingly in his latest podcast on youtube.
Crooke spoke about the damage Iran has done to the Bahrain headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet and especially to U.S. military assets in Jordan where it attacked a major air base used by American forces. It may well be that Iran destroyed there a spy plane worth several hundred million dollars in its hangar and also destroyed U.S. fighter jets in their hangar. By Crooke’s estimation, Iran has taken control of the escalatory ladder, which reverses completely the normal order of things in America’s wars of aggression.
My contribution was to place the latest Iranian achievements in the context of what comes next in the reorganization of the security architecture in the Middle East. The Iranian missile strike on Bahrain was a message about what it can do to the Fifth Fleet at any time of its choosing should Trump want to escalate further. Surely all of the Gulf State neighbors took notice. https://gilbertdoctorow.substack.com/p/emmanuel-macrons-anti-ballistic-missile

John Helmer on Reussian Strategic Initiative: BLEEDING TO DEATH IS NOT A RUSSIAN OPTION
The rupturing of the aorta which killed US Senator Lindsey Graham on July 11 causes sudden, excruciating pain across the chest; the internal bleeding causes death so rapidly most victims cannot be saved.
Graham’s fate is now to be inflicted by rapid enactment by the US Senate and House of the 500% tariff of the Graham sanctions bill on countries buying Russian oil, gas, uranium, coal, nickel, food grains. The pain is aimed principally at China, India, Turkey.
The bleeding to death is planned to be the fate of President Vladimir Putin and Russia…
..Putin’s problem is more urgent: he has to win the war in Ukraine to have any say in anything anywhere. If he doesn’t decide on this now, he’s Gorbachev 1985, waiting to be dismembered and sold in pieces to the Arabs, Turks, Europeans, and Chinese.”
Another Moscow source has been reporting the anticipation among Security Council officials that Putin must agree to the General Staff’s escalation options “within days”.
In this timing, by coincidence or by calculation, the Russian oligarchs supporting Putin have published an appeal to him with strings attached. These have been spelled out by Andrei Melnichenko and published by The Economist on July 9. Melnichenko warns Putin, and also the Graham sanctioneers in the White House and Congress, against four “scenarios” – “a humiliated Russia, lingering on the periphery of the West”, “Russia in China’s orbit”, “the fragmentation of Russia, which would rapidly become unmanageable”, and “Russia to become a fortress: closed, mobilised, in permanent siege”.
Moscow sources believe there are more options than these.
They say the Security Council has proposed to Putin to decide that if he is not to face slow bleeding defeat, he must commit now to “complete Russian victory cutting Ukraine off from Europe, NATO and the US; decapitation or exile for the Zelensky regime; and for Kiev and the main cities to be run in the manner the US runs Iraq. That victory brings military to power in Moscow.”
This is anathema to the oligarch base on which Putin has depended until now, when, Moscow sources agree, that is impossible.
“Melnichenko is speaking at the behest of the state oligarchs clan of which [First Deputy Prime Minister Denis] Manturov is the face and coordinator”, according to one source. “They know [Roman] Abramovich is not the right person to intermediate. They want to retain their external wealth and their Russian assets so they are floating a ‘nothing and everything is possible’ balloon – if need be, to open a platform independent of Putin, but if he will come to an accommodation, so much the better.”
They are worried, a source in a position to know claims, by “the prospect of a entire shift toward a Chinese-style takeover by a military-nationalist alliance, the state takeover of all oligarch assets, a change of leadership at Rosneft and the state banks. This may not be plausible for the Kremlin. But it is being floated now. And there are other scenarios which the oligarchs also oppose. One would be for Putin to preserve his continuity in power on striking a grand deal with India and China. The Indians will show the middle finger to the Americans if the Chinese will but not alone. Putin will have to join, too.” https://johnhelmer.net/bleeding-to-death-is-not-a-russian-option/#respond
Andrew Korybko, Western Officials Should Listen When Trenin Of All People Warns Of Russian Escalation
He’s not a hawk in the least and actually used to be one of his country’s most well-known Western-friendly experts before the special operation led to him gradually re-evaluating his worldview.
President of the Russian International Affairs Council Dmitri Trenin published a piece at RT about “The dangerous logic of NATO 3.0”. In his assessment, “The Europeans dream of eliminating Russia as a serious factor in the geopolitics of Eurasia: to them, this would mean the ‘final solution’ of the long-dreaded ‘Russia problem.’…The fundamental flaw of European thinking is their belief that Russia would rather accept defeat, degradation and disintegration than use the arsenal which it currently possesses.”
He elaborated that “This arsenal is not limited to nuclear weapons, although the point may be reached when they will have to be used. The Kremlin, so far, has been exceedingly restrained in using its more powerful conventional capabilities, or engaging some high-value, high-visibility targets. There are many explanations for such restraint, but it is foolhardy – actually, fatal – to believe that either the Russian leadership or the Russian people would ever surrender to NATO.” https://korybko.substack.com/p/western-officials-should-listen-when

Fear of Russian Strikes Forces. Trump’s Ukraine Air Defense Patriot Strategy
Fear of Russian strikes is driving a major shift away from establishing production in Ukraine toward more secure European locations, underscoring the challenges of producing advanced air defense systems amid ongoing conflict.
Production activities are underway in Europe, with MBDA, owned by Airbus, BAE Systems, and Leonardo, opening a new plant in southern Germany. The plant is scheduled to begin operations soon, with initial deliveries expected by early 2027. Reports indicate that Ukraine has finalized deals with Germany for approximately 600 missiles. Funding appears to be secured through NATO commitments made at the Ankara summit, totaling around $140 billion—$70 billion this year and $70 billion next year.
Establishing such specialized factories requires significant time, typically 18 to 24 months. During this period, Ukraine would need to meet its immediate requirements by purchasing completed systems, primarily from German stocks.
Lockheed Martin, the main US producer of Patriot systems, is building a factory in Romania, expected to be operational soon. Ongoing security threats and the risk of Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory make full-scale missile manufacturing unlikely in Ukraine. Consequently, safer European locations, especially Romania, are becoming the preferred sites.
In a possible Romanian configuration, the US would supply advanced parts such as active radar seekers, motors, and complex electronics. Local facilities would assemble simpler components, including missile bodies and transport-launch containers. These sites could operate under Ukrainian branding or as joint ventures, allowing Kiev to claim involvement while reducing risk. Even shipments from European plants could be intercepted or targeted during transit or deployment. https://www.globalresearch.ca/fear-russian-strikes-changes-trump-ukraine-patriot-strategy/5933283
Ian Proud, There is no functional way to end the war in Ukraine – Only a popular uprising against globalist leaders in Europe and their proxy in Ukraine, will do
I predict that the collapse in Western support for the forever war in Ukraine will start to crumble after the French Presidential election, which Marine Le Pen is considered in hot contention to win. France under Le Pen will not want Ukraine to join the EU because of the loss of financial benefits to France that would result. I predict she would not want to prolong the war in Ukraine further given the significant indirect economic cost to France from the decline of Europe that it has precipitated.
There will be an enormous legal and media campaign to prevent Le Pen from winning, much as there will be a similar campaign in Germany in 2029.
Even in Britain, political elites are already looking to unpick the Brexit vote and suck us back into the warmongering supranational structure of Europe.
But the simple truth is this, the only way to end the war in Ukraine is the get rid of Zelensky and the globalist elites in London, Berlin, Brussel and Paris.
There is simply no other functional way to make it end, on the basis that NATO and the EU have stolen the sovereignty of their members, refuse to talk to Russia and see no interest for their citizens in peacemaking. https://thepeacemonger.substack.com/p/there-is-no-functional-way-to-end
John Helmer disparages Putin’s strategic restraint. PUTIN’S MIRROR IS NO FAIRY TALE
“Victory will undoubtedly be ours,” Putin declared in a speech to a Moscow rally, “Everything to Win”, yesterday. “Our guys, the fighters, are moving forward,” he added.
“Our responses will always be mirrored, wherever they try to strike at the territory of Russia, we will respond in a mirror, only several times more powerful. The enemy will feel it. He already feels it, I hope, and he will feel it several times more powerfully.”
This is Putin’s public response to the rising pressure from within the Security Council, the intelligence agencies, the General Staff, and in the media of the military bloggers for E-Day. That’s short for Escalation Day – not TFT (tit for tat), not TIT (Trust in Trump), not the symmetrical responses from the genie in Putin’s magic mirror.
This is the plan for escalation of military operations to cut the Ukraine battlefield off altogether from its ground and sea supply links to the NATO alliance; to cut off the US and NATO drone targeting operations in the airspace of the Black Sea, and the Starlink and other satellite deployments in space; and to do as much as possible for Russia’s allies, starting on the Iran front, to inflict cost and pain on the US.
Intelligence sources in Moscow have been expressing confidence that Putin, having no alternative now, will release the General Staff from the operational restrictions he has imposed since the start of the Special Military Operation in February 2022; most particularly “our responses will always be mirrored.” https://johnhelmer.net/putins-mirror-is-no-fairy-tale/#more-94643

However, if we included mixed AI and human content, X/Twitter was the worst off: almost half of X articles were either fully AI-generated (23.9 percent) or AI-assisted/mixed (22.9 percent), with only 53.2 percent of X articles flagging as fully human-authored.” https://www.theregister.com/columnists/2026/07/12/its-an-ai-web-and-were-just-rats-in-the-walls/5269760

Curry is beneficial: Nano-Curcumin Eliminates Cyclospora Infection in Mice—the Parasite Behind the “Explosive Diarrhea” Outbreak Across 31 States
Just seven daily doses of nano-curcumin cut Cyclospora shedding by 97.2%, eliminated detectable parasites, restored damaged intestinal tissue, and prevented infection relapse.
Researchers experimentally infected mice with Cyclospora and compared three treatments:
Nano-curcumin: 2 mg/kg once daily
Regular curcumin: 2 mg/kg once daily
Bactrim/TMP-SMX: 5 mg/kg trimethoprim plus 25 mg/kg sulfamethoxazole once daily
Each treatment was administered for only seven consecutive days, beginning on day 6 after infection when parasite shedding started. The mice received no additional treatment and were followed through day 30—more than two weeks after the final dose.
Nano-curcumin produced the strongest overall results.
By the end of treatment, parasite oocyst shedding had fallen by:
84.0% with nano-curcumin
77.3% with Bactrim
73.3% with regular curcumin
At day 30, more than two weeks after treatment ended:
Nano-curcumin: 97.2% reduction
Regular curcumin: 93.5% reduction
Bactrim: 79.4% reduction

-House passes legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent
The House of Representatives has passed legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, a significant step towards ending the twice-yearly clock changes. The Sunshine Protection Act, which was passed with a vote of 308-117, allows states to voluntarily observe Daylight Saving Time year-round. This legislation is a response to the growing sentiment among Americans to eliminate the need to change clocks twice a year. The bill is now set to be considered by the Senate and is backed by President Trump. The transition to permanent Daylight Saving Time is expected to provide more daylight in the evening, improve public safety, and promote healthier lifestyles.

I’m retired. I have the time.
I try to bring news/facts/events to evaluate, to try to figure out/understand what is happening that can impact out lifestyle.
Below is a posting from Iranintl showing that we now have another Iran operation called Nasr 2 and this is reporting about the sixth wave.
IRGC says it struck US aircraft shelters at Jordan’s Azraq base
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday its Aerospace Force struck the US military base at Azraq in Jordan, adding “it destroyed shelters for F-15, F-16 and F-35 fighter jets as well as several MQ-9 drones.’“
In a statement carried by IRGC-affiliated media, IRGC said the attack was carried out during the sixth wave of its “Nasr 2” operation in response to US strikes against Iran.
The statement called on people of Jordan to oppose the presence of US forces in the country and urged them to “seek the removal of American military forces from Jordan.”
Mehrdad Khalili
O honorable Jordanian people
In the early hours of dawn today, after the criminal American army resumed its attacks against our people, and in response to the crimes of the “Great Satan,” a large part of which are being carried out from American bases on Jordanian soil, the mujahideen of the aerospace force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a counterattack on the American base in Azraq, within the sixth wave of Operation “Nasr 2,” under the slogan “Oh God, oh God, oh God.” The operation targeted and destroyed hangars for F-15, F-16, and F-35 fighters, and also eliminated a number of American MQ-9 strategic drones located at the base.
The blessed land of Jordan is the home of the prophets, not the place of occupiers and international criminals. The Islamic nation expects you, the proud and zealous people of Jordan, who were the largest people to bear witness to the crimes committed by the United States and the Zionist entity against the oppressed Palestine, to put an end to the presence of the Great Satan’s army on your land, and not to allow that holy land to be transformed into a launching pad for attacks on Islamic countries, or into a base for imposing hegemony and aggression on the Palestinian people.
Do not miss any opportunity to target American institutions and work to expel the American occupation army from Jordan.”
