The present era, the Holocene, started 11,700 years before the present – at the end of the last ice age.

In view of this, it is hardly surprising that those leaving Africa preferred to travel east and then south rather than north into a frozen Europe. The last ice age was from 110,000 – 11,700 years ago.

In fact, I almost quit watching a few minutes in, but, on a hunch, kept watching…glad I did; I think she’s the real deal.
