Orwell taught us that he who controls the present (and the press) controls the past. The Zionist propaganda has everyone believing that the Muslims were brutal and barbaric when they burst out of the Arabian Peninsula and conquered the Holy Land in the seventh century, butchering the Christians, and that we have had nonstop religious violence in the Holy Land ever since. They try to normalize it to justify their atrocities. Yet is it accurate? Consider this short passage from Sir Steven Runciman’s classic work History of the Crusades, first published in 1951:
The fifth of the Caliphs, Moawiya the Ommayad, had been governor of Syria; and after his accession in A.D. 660 he established his capital at Damascus. His descendants reigned there for nearly a century. It was a period of prosperity for Syria and Palestine. The Ommayad Caliphs were with few exceptions men of unusual ability and a broad-minded tolerance. The presence of their court in the province ensured its good government and a lively commercial activity; and they encouraged the culture that they found there. This was a Hellenistic-Christian culture, influenced by tastes and ideas that we associate with the name of Byzantium. Greek-speaking Christians were employed in the civil service. For many decades the state accounts were kept in Greek. Christian artists and craftsmen worked for the Caliphs.
The Dome of the Rock at Jerusalem, completed for the Caliph Abdul-Malik in 691, is the supreme example of the rotunda-style of building in Byzantine architecture. Its mosaics, and the even lovelier mosaics set up in the courtyard of the Great Mosque of Damascus for his son, Walid I, are amongst the finest products of Byzantine art. How far they were the work of native artisans and how far they were helped by the technicians and material that Walid certainly imported from Byzantium is a matter of dispute. These mosaics carefully respected the Prophet’s ban on the depiction of living creatures. But in their country palaces, discreetly removed from the eyes of disapproving mullahs—for instance, at the hunting-box of Kasr al-Amra, in the steppes beyond the Jordan—the Ommayads freely permitted frescoes depicting the human form, even in the nude. Their rule, indeed, brought no interruption to the development of the Hellenistic culture of the near Orient; which now achieved its finest, but its final, flowering.
The Christians had therefore no cause to regret the triumph of Islam. Despite an occasional brief bout of persecution and despite a few humiliating regulations, they were better off than they had been under the Christian Emperors. Order was better kept. Trade was good; and the taxes were far lower. Moreover, during the greater part of the eighth century the Christian Emperor was a heretic, an iconoclast, an oppressor of all the Orthodox that paid respect to holy images. Good Christians were happier under infidel rule.

All over the news: After decades of not caring about Washington completely collapsing into decay, nothing working including the reflecting pool, now that it’s fixed quickly, every story is about how the reflecting pool is a failure. How? Well, some new and entirely unrelated way each day! This morning it has algae, because I can bet a shallow, freshwater pool never has that trouble before!
Personally I think it’s dumb, I wouldn’t choose blue, but don’t care about the pool or other local city works at all. Why would the rest of us? A: Hate. All in the service of endless hate.

This is how we know Iran won, because they got nothing, and the U.S. lost, because they got everything.Trump only signed the treaty where he gets everything bc he ran out of oil, weapons, and time, so thank God we lost so we can win so hard like that!

What can I say? And as above, this is the state of ALLLL the Youtube, Fox, CBS commentariat now. Peace means you lost. Getting everything you asked for and what you fought the war for means you lost. Losing your army, Navy, and Air Force, $500B, 20 years of military preparations, and your nukes means you won.
This is the state of World Logic right now. I won’t say American logic, although our Euro-classes of Harvard, CNN agree with it. Normal Americans are practical and still have the brains of a woodchuck on these matters, and that makes them way, way smarter than the Smart Set, the Brain Trusts in DC and Davos.
Sorry for being all over the place but it’s boring and I don’t know how many times I can say the same thing.
I learned and School that the Eastern Empire went on 1,000 more years and sort of just rotated into the Ottoman, a similar system, up until WWI. They were constantly internicine, but it was no big deal over time.
I also learned the Crusades were essentially super-dumb, all of them, and no teacher nor professor had any explanation for them, nor any curiosity to go find one.
So no, both it taught there was peace, or they taught nothing at all, but certainly never that Islam was war. Or in that area.
However, I will take issue with the premise, just as Raul has posted maps here. The wars of Islam INTO Europe are literally endless. The borders are clear, fighting at Vienna, for example, and into France. That’s a long, long invasion from home. It’s like 2,000:1 ratio of Islam vs Crusades. Or indeed any attacks into Islamic lands up until like I dunno, 1880 or something.
We have bent vision because this is the era we recently lived through, but even if you asked in 1999, they would have said not much different. Islam lives “over there” neither peaceful nor warlike, exactly as Christianity — another supposed religion of peace — is the very same. We pick on them both for that, and fair’s fair.
It’s only since 912 that any of this changed, but remember immediately after they were like “We’re having a crusade” but also Islam is peaceful, don’t be rayciss. Huh? What the “W”? I knew “W” was dumb, but that makes no sense at all! Now do you want us to smash those people or not?
Oh my sweet summer child, we all hadn’t seen anything yet. That looked like the pinnacle of wisdom and sense compared to the PR bending that came after and is still at an apex today.
Islam bombs, attacks, and wars the f–k out of everyone, and invades and takes anything it can. Always has.
