Ukraine’s obligations, privileges for Americans. What is contained in the subsoil deal?The published text of the subsoil agreement between Ukraine and the United States does not contain any specifics on the fundamental aspects of the activities of the Fund being created.
In particular, the details of the Fund’s management, the mechanism for making decisions on the disposal of funds coming to the Fund are not prescribed. Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the Fund would be managed on a parity basis, and Ukraine and the United States would have 50% of the votes in it. However, the text of the deal does not say anything about this.
There is only a reference to the fact that the distribution of shares in the Fund, the principles of its management and other specific issues will be regulated by an additional Agreement on Limited Partnership, which has yet to be signed (its draft is not in the public domain).
Also, nothing is said about the fact that for the first 10 years, the Fund will invest all funds exclusively in the development of projects in Ukraine, as previously reported by Ukrainian officials. This does not follow from the text of the agreement, as well as there is no direct ban on the withdrawal of funds from the Fund in favor of one of the partners (that is, the Americans).
It is not very clear from the text what this fund will do in general and what is its role in the development of deposits and the implementation of infrastructure projects. It is not known whether it will act as an investor (co-investor) in these businesses, or as their manager.

In the published text of the agreement, the task of the Fund (Partnership) is defined extremely vaguely: “to become a flagship mechanism for encouraging transparent, accountable and future-oriented investments in critical sectors of the Ukrainian economy in support of the country’s reconstruction strategy.”
The text of the agreement at the same time contains clear commitments on contributions to the Fund from Ukraine (50% of the cost of new licenses for the development of minerals), but does not contain specific commitments on contributions from the United States. There are also no obligations from Washington to continue military assistance. It is only written that if there are more arms supplies, they will be counted as an American contribution to the Fund.
The text of the agreement does not directly contain the right of the “first night” of the Fund and American companies to develop deposits and participate in new projects, but stipulates special conditions for them.

Made any videos as good as S. Cot tRitter?I can use rumble directly, but a posted link from tae doesn’t work. Anybody else?
Doc R- I’m a raw materials girl, and I can’t believe that I do not at this time have stainless steel wire in my voluminous stock of stuff. Thanks for the tip!
