We allowed them to languish in schools which not only look like prisons but function like prisons, as well—where conformity is the rule and freedom is the exception.

This is very true. My understanding is that public schools in the USA are much more dysfunctional and mind-warping now than they were when I was attending them in the seventies and the eighties.

Forget about herd immunity through vaccines. Not going to happen. Your immune system will have to do the job.

I agree with that 100%. It needs to be on the front page of every newspaper and news website.

Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Reprograms Innate Immune Responses

If I understand this correctly, then though Covid might not get you, some relatively benign fungus or bacteria might. It’s in line with my expectation for this autumn, I just didn’t know what the mechanism could be.

Does anyone know how Sinovac or Sinopharm work? Are they adenovirus vector vaccines, mRNA or something else?

    Wassily Kandinsky Contrasting Sounds 1924

I can’t say I understand Kandinsky’s work, but I find it fascinating and the title intriguing…
In my copper smithing days I made some abstract, hammered, sculptures that surprised even me at times…
My “three sisters” was three different works, of deep vases, from a single sheet of copper for each of the three vases…all hammer and anvil generated…
Anyhoo, Kandinsky harkens me back to those days…….

    Are they adenovirus vector vaccines…

The Sinovac is; I don’t know about the Sinopharm…

A bit of light relief not strictly on topic but to do with the wickedness and foolishness of our politicos. Also the funniest piece of journaliam for decades.

    Marina Hyde in the Guardian.

David Cameron yesterday claimed his text to the Treasury mentioning a “rate cut” might in fact have meant to say “VAT cut”. As the former Prime Minister put it, “I think I am a victim of spellcheck here.”

And yet ..in which phone software does VAT autocorrect to “rate”?… I found it rather difficult to watch this section of the hearing and not think: can you ducking believe this aunt.

YouTube have already deleted the video of an NHS consultant stating that kids should not be vaccinated. Yesterday I watched it in full. Today, gone.
    Check for yourselves.

@ Polder – the Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines are inactivated whole virus vaccines.
    Much as traditional vaccines are.

Maybe the sawbones snapped the needle off in their arms when they were vaccinating them. They do that sort of thing. Good pub trick for a few free drinks though.

Could be a hoax to discredit the wary. Fiendishly cunning these fellows.

We, the survivors of WWII, the baby boomers, the helicopter moms, did the following to our children.
Its our fault. We created the society that we have. We created “snowflakes”.

We were too weak to do what needed to be done to have a better society.

Israel is not exercising “the right to defend itself” in the occupied Palestinian territories. It is carrying out mass murder, aided and abetted by the U.S.

Israel has made it clear it is ready to destroy and kill as wantonly now as it was in 2014. Israel’s defense minister Benny Gantz, who was the chief of staff during the murderous assault on Gaza in 2014, has vowed that if Hamas “does not stop the violence, the strike of 2021 will be harder and more painful than that of 2014.” The current attacks have already targeted several residential high rises including buildings that housed over a dozen local and international press agencies, government buildings, roads, public facilities, agricultural lands, two schools and a mosque.

Here, let me fix that for you:

It has been previously proved that traumatic injury and chronic disease can cause premature immune system aging, but this research is the first to argue a viral infection bioweapon does the same.

    from top:

Forget about herd immunity through vaccines. Not going to happen. Your immune system will have to do the job.

I see NO evidence for the efficacy of any of the COV19 vaccines.

As for the trials that have been published / read by me, they are not convincing, but then my standards are extremely high for these kinds of studies: out-to-lunch are, super planning of samples, and their description; timing, follow up of ‘symptoms’ / tests performed, type of, etc.

If anyone has some data which is ++ for vaxxes, I would be happy to see it, I’d even like to believe in it, maybe I’m missing something, a lot? Sincere question, I’m not a virologist, not a doc.

If I appear to be focussed on picky detail, and to be hankering after methodological purity in ‘studies’, that isn’t the case, or not generally, only so for these examples of extremely shoddy work with big numbers. (I’m all for reporting, and taking into account, observational studies. on even 20 patients.)

    Ex.:

A total of 43,548 participants underwent randomization, of whom 43,448 received injections: 21,720 with BNT162b2 and 21,728 with placebo. There were 8 cases of Covid-19 with onset at least 7 days after the second dose among participants assigned to receive BNT162b2 and 162 cases among those assigned to placebo; BNT162b2 was 95% effective in preventing Covid-19 (95% credible interval, 90.3 to 97.6).

    https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2034577

The no. of cases are too small to make that judgment call or tout percentages. Plus, one has to note how ‘cases’ were identified and thus tallied -> see paper.

Old ground I know, yet it deserves repeating. Its worse than rubbish as it is deliberately constructed / organised to tout a product and obfuscate.

–> Extra snarls created, once such BS is accepted, others jump on the bandwagon, and use the same ‘methods’, calculating in the same way, as that Big Pharma Co got away with it, we can too! We can compete!

    “White saviorism.”
But, wait, Weiskopf is white. Isn’t what she is doing, sparing black children from reading a book rife with “white saviorism” an example of white saviorism?

I read TKIMB in high school in California. It is a moving book. An attorney puts himself out on a limb to attempt to achieve justice for a black man on trial. Isn’t it important for oppressed people to know that there are other people who will stand by them, fight with them and for them? To know that there are people who will endeavor to see them for who they are based on their behavior and words and not based on the color of their skin?

We don’t need saviors, white or otherwise. We need thinking, feeling people who can understand the perspectives of others.

“Isn’t it important for oppressed people to know that there are other people who will stand by them, fight with them and for them?”

No. .GoV is the only thing that can save you. Do not look to your fellow human beings, look for .gov! Social Justice has nothing to do with improving anyone’s lives. It is about thought control. Same with the Coof. TDS turned into CDS. Imagine how Germans who tried to stand up for Jews were treated in Germany, i think the response from the average German was very attuned to what we see now if someone espouses conservative views or actually thinks the powers of .GOV should be limited these days. A few years back my dad and i went to Antietam battlefield for the 163 anniversary i think it was. Anyways while taking the tour around Burnsides bridge a women asked the tour guide why General Lee was moving his troops all over the battlefield. To which i replied because he was outnumbered 2 to 1. The tour guide replied to my answer, well new scholarship shows that actually General Lee wasn’t outnumbered by that much and blah blah blah. The point being that now we have to dehumanize anyone or anything that can be seen as a threat to government power and control. It’s not about if you agreed or not with how the southerners ran their society or economy, they are a symbol against overarching federal power and we can’t have that these days. We are quickly moving to the point where you will be called a domestic terrorist if you criticize .gov. Its also why we see the push to get rid of those mystic chords of memory that bind us, the founders revolted against power! They must all be torn down because people might get ideas and ideas are bad, unless they are our ideas dagnabbit.

Mr roboto: “My understanding is that public schools in the USA are much more dysfunctional and mind-warping now than they were when I was attending them in the seventies and the eighties.“

In some ways yes, in some ways no. My daughter tested as highly gifted and then was eligible and attended the school district’s “gifted learning center” for grades 2-6. Her education there was phenomenal. One of my sons has anxiety, adhd, dmdd. Regular public school didn’t work for him…but because of the IDEA act, the public school worked with him. For two years he was in a “behavior program” (which failed to reach him) then he was placed for 4 years in a public/private partnership school that joined patience, structure, and positive behavior support in a synergistic way that worked for him. Two more years of “behavior program” — this time functional — and he now attends regular (remote learning) classrooms as a high school freshman, with weekly sessions with the school psychologist and speech therapist. The public high school down the street is sought after by those who don’t live within its boundaries, and stresses accountability from the students (which the elementary school district did not do, instead treating middle schoolers similarly to kindergartners.) There have been both positive and negative aspects to the public school system here, which is what has educated my 3 kids. Some of it is really stupid — like the elementary school district issuing photo IDs to all students and demanding that they be worn and displayed at all times! (My daughter relates that a friend who had forgotten her ID was told by the school that the next time it is forgotten parents would be called. My daughter laughed, knowing that if the school ever called me over such an infraction that I wouldn’t much care, as I’ve made it clear since the universal school ID thing began what my views are on the matter.)

So, India is deploying the Sputnik vaccine. Here’s what the ABC, the Australian public broadcaster (but very much MSM) has to say about Sputnik:

“For example, numerous unverified accounts presenting themselves as news sources or health specialists reported the unveiling of the Russian vaccine ‘Sputnik V’ in an uncritically positive and largely decontextualized manner,” First Draft found.
“These reports failed to highlight the fact that the vaccine was approved before it had gone through large-scale Phase 3 trials, which provoked widespread concern and objections from the scientific community.”
    Source

I see. Sputnik is no good because it hasn’t gone through the Phase 3 trials.
But Pfizer and AZ et al. are safe because they haven’t gone through the Phase 3 trials.

    At last I understand.

Also, at some point we’re going to have to throw off the framing they want to impose on people like myself: I’m not vaccine hesitant, I’m vaccine defiant. Our Governess in Oregon says she won’t lift restrictions until the state reaches 70% vaccination; my response to that isn’t printable on a family blog.

I hate to give into the Covid madness, however…a path out of the mess may be to change the 70% vaccinated to 70% immune, and those who don’t want the vaccine can take the immunity test — I forget the name of it, but I’m referring to the new one that recently got EUA, tests for T cell response to Covid, and costs $150. (Not require the immunity test, but subsidize it somehow so that anyone who wants to take it can do so. I would take it, out of curiosity about the results.) Sometimes what it takes to jog people out of fear mode is a bit of reality…I was uncomfortably flirting with fear until I, my partner, and my parents all survived a Covid infection. If enough of the “unvaccinated” take the immunity test, proving immunity, perhaps we can get to the “herd immunity” percentage the VIPs insist on, lower the fear in our deluded peers, and then be able to have rational conversations again with our peers. I, for one, am tired of having “circular logic” conversations with vaccinated friends…Why am I not vaccinated? Short answer: I’m already immune, it would be a superfluous risk. Why not get the “added protection” of the vaccine? Answer: because there have been no vaccine trials of Covid survivors and therefore there is no data on which to base the premise that the vaccine confers “added protection.” But why not add to herd immunity? Answer: [long sigh] Because I already *am* contributing to herd immunity… But how do you know that you are still immune? Answer: SARS, 17 years, etc., and how do you, the vaccine recipient, know that you’re immune? and round and round it goes.

The T-cell immunity test which John Day mentioned can be ordered online, without getting your doctor involved.

    Special self-pay test price $150
Additional fees include test authorization ($9) and blood draw (on-site lab: $60 or in-home: $140).

The T-Detect COVID test is currently not covered by health insurance. The T-Detect COVID test is FSA/HSA eligible.
