    Paul Gauguin Sunken lane 1884

There is just something about that painting that resonates with me; my experiences; my travels; the beauty of nature; never subdued by humans ever…
    Thanks for that painting Ilargi……………

Oh that painting is majestic. We don’t see shapes and colors, we see the suggestion of them. Very much like in the work of Gauguin’s ‘friend in tragedy’ van Gogh.

Yes, majestic does it quite well.

Better to look at than to live, the slope on the left is going to drop a lot of soggy water into a narrow lane, trapped by the house. Making it lush and cool but bad for March. I’ll enjoy it from here, remediating that problem looks like a lot of work. Maybe deep paving stones in the wheeltracks?

What kind of comeback? Oh, maybe the bumper stickers will read BIDEN/CLINTON 2020, WARREN/CLINTON 2020 — or even CLINTON/CLINTON 2020. Who the heck knows?

No, it’s terribly, terribly grave. And also terribly possible, well-designed and engineered since 1970, and certainly meant to be in motion at least since Limbaugh came on air in the 90s: the rural hicks would be antagonized into fighting the Army like the violent, dumb animals they are. Except: they weren’t. They couldn’t get them to misbehave and lose the moral high ground despite everything they could think of, including lately, murdering them by the 30,000’s. Perhaps because they are also generally Christian, if that word even means anything anymore. And btw, who do you think was in the Army and police they were supposed to be fighting? Same red hats. So like most evil plans, a terrible, stupid, self-defeating one; not that they care, as they win and sink the United States with the very fact of the war, knocking them off the world stage, flying to Monaco for a few years, then buying it up on the cheap, a broken nation, depopulated, sans Constitution. #Winning!

Anyway, here we are, and the best laid plans of men… Apparently Americans, or rather journalists and the Intelligentsia have the dumbest sense of history or no sense at all. The Republic has survived far worse than exists now, and several times. The instruments of government are working badly, but adequately, and the nation has come apart and come together before. Really, they seem to think, like 4th graders, that no one ever fought duels with the Vice President, then smeared the opposition as a “Hermaphrodite” and “Traitor puppet of the French”, then beat a fellow congressman on the floor of the Capital building with his cane. All that happened even before Lincoln, much less in the last 100 years. Time rolls on, Americans abide.

No, not a joke, but what we’re in is nothing, a garden party, compared to a civil war, especially the way the Americans fight wars. They have no idea how lucky they are or what a reprieve they’ve gained by going the political and not military route. There is of course still time. Beto says he’s going to go door to door and shoot those 95% of counties, these rural people whether Blue or Red, just as their mastermind Bill Ayers promised they would. Kamala agrees wholeheartedly, as do others. Because if they don’t get this war started somewhere, justice will investigate their actions over the last few years, and they’ll be carried out on their shields anyway, but without taking the nation with them.

It’s messy, but if the people with the 300M guns haven’t felt like acting out before now, and keep picking the legal-and-justice route, then what would it take? Apparently they are incredibly peaceful and long suffering, withstanding as seen, the death of thousands, the complete annihilation of their hometowns, their religion, and vilification of themselves and every tradition even suspected to be “American.”

See that you don’t fight such men as can restrain themselves like this. A cold, smoldering fire that can endure all without breaking is not an enemy to choose.

“Hillary Clinton’s Big Comeback Begins Tuesday (WT)”

Perhaps they are going to re-run the ’16 election in more than name. More do-overs. Okay then, if that’s what you want to do, if that’s what it takes. One problem: an increasing number of Democrats dislike her and Biden even more than ever.

“Twitter Executive for Middle East Is British Army ‘Psyops’ Soldier (MEE)”

As everyone else in social media is also from the psy-op letter agencies, I do not find that suspicious at all.

“ministers attending cabinet admitted that they were not absolutely sure what the PM plans to do if his hopes of a deal fall flat.”

As is required for any negotiation, and the very first thing May sold to the EU.

“The U.S. … distancing itself from its global responsibilities.”

You mean we’re REQUIRED to tell everybody, everywhere how to live? Ou contraire mon frere. You mean: disconnecting itself from empire, like I wrote yesterday? Yes, and with the approval of the American people, but not the CIA/elites.

“they should try to convince Russians that their future is with Europe,”

Is this a joke? Russia is in Europe, and at only a fraction of itself, still one of the biggest territories there, the (only) one that keeps Europe’s lights on, in gas and nuclear. I was just listening to a lecture on the EU as Germany-by-other-means (true) and that is why Russia can never, ever be discussed or included in EU prospects. If they did, it Germany would be run over as far too small, to say nothing of Belgium, and would lose control, making it the “Russian Economic Union.” When you see the truth of that, think again about how well it will be to ATTACK a nation who eclipses you in power while passive and immobile and hardly showing up to talk.

“A private security company organised 24/7 surveillance”

Burying the lede. As said a sentence after, “surveillance was provided directly to the CIA.”

Unfortunately, this would technically be legal, as the CIA can wiretap foreign nationals, but is not done, and for good reason. No one can, or should trust a group that would do such a thing. That’s why they’re now anchors and guests for CNN, telling us about WMDs and ties to Al-Qeada, run by RussiaRussiaRussia, who is hacking Vermont and turning the heat off in your house, while a black hole devours Flight 370. If only I were making that up, but making things up is the CIA/CNN’s job. And “The Guardian”, of course.

The red is an anchor that holds the painting together. Easy to imagine other painters, especially amateur, placing it all over the canvas. As good as it is “The lane” is a just runaway before the lift of.
I have noticed in lot of Mr Kunstler’s writings casual placement of words “civil war”, as he’s itching for the one.
Juxtaposition of reenactment image of the US civil war next to the recent real one in former Yugoslavia, RT could not have done the better job.

    the EU as Germany-by-other-means (true)
Oh yes. The Third Way (a la Joseph P. Farrell) marches on, and in the US, too.

but if the people with the 300M guns haven’t felt like acting out before now, and keep picking the legal-and-justice route, then what would it take?
MORE PAIN closer to home and the realization (duh) that the legal system has been systematically packed by the enemy.

Gotta join in the Gaugin applause. Oh, as a painting, it doesn’t do much for me even though it’s wonderful, gorgeous, delicious. You can almost smell the air and feel the weight of its humidity, the shadows are like the inside of a giant camera, it all works so incredibly well… but, knowing what Gaugin’s crystallized genius would settle upon (growing up in Chicago, I even got to see a lot of his mature work in the flesh), I can’t enjoy it as it deserves, because I can see that, while Paul had about mastered in this painting all there was to master at that time — and then some, it’s just Paul learning how to put his deepest soul onto the canvas.

It’s perfect, vibrant, delicious — but it’s not Paul. Like very early Beethoven when he was just an overwrought Mozart.

I doubt that anyone was trying to foment Civil War in 1970. That is, anyone with any real money in the game. Civil wars are notoriously bad for destroying rich men’s properties, sometimes even rich men.

While I do agree there are wealthy persons willing to cut off any number of noses to spike their own self-interests, it seems to me that those creatures had so much rich and ample opportunities via fomenting civil war abroad, a means to steal poor people’s properties, commandeer local rich men’s properties, make another killing on defense industry stocks, and acquire a tidy labor pool of now landless peasants and so forth. Why shoot up the local scene? Isn’t that where they keep their stuff?

    Doesn’t click for me.

It intrigues me how we sometimes assume that one side of the perceived duopoly is more or less manufactured into place while the other side is *sincerely* just plain fucking up.

If we can believe that one candidate is installed, or at least majorly and competently aided by the shadow government entities (whose existence I certainly believe in), perhaps we can believe that the other side’s reasons for being stupid is not the one plainly declared by the media? In neat declarative sentences as FOX taught them all works so well? Maybe the DNC isn’t as stupid as we think it is, but more like just.plain.fucked.

Personally, I think they’re moving as insanely as they are because so many of them are wrapped in Hillary’s web (busy lady, Hillary) that they’re as terrified as she is, only more so: for while she’s merely terrified of her inevitable incarceration should she not be in office to nullify investigations (and, I’m pretty sure, roiling with murderous rage that she got axed in ’16 by that shithead Bernie and that unspeakable bloated toupee currently sitting in Her Throne), they — her cohorts, are terrified of her, period. Double jeopardy for some of them. Well, the women IS c-ra-zy.

But the fact that the media is chatting up Hillary Redux is, for now, only another bubble in the glittering facade:

    Chimp the Bubbles

Let’s see if that bubble machine is still pumping Hillary bubbles two weeks from now.

I suspect that they’re testing what she might still be for at this early stage of the election. I assume she has three potential benefits as a come-and-go candidatory prospect:

One is how her Wicked Witch aspect terrorizes various factions and how they seem to jump when startled by her face rising over the edge of the horizon like an enormous green zeppelin propelled by flying monkeys pulling on galley ropes.

Two is roughly the opposite. Who still likes her and buys into her bullshit.

Three is to distract from the truth about Biden that seems inevitably bound to emerge.

I doubt they’re so stupid, even terrified as they are, to think she’ll do any better than last time. BUt maybe they’ve been playing with those CIA “flashy things” a bit too much. Big hit at parties. No need to blackout drink.

    Saudi rout update:
On Saturday 29 the Houthis and the Yemeni army conducted an incredible conventional attack lasting three days that began from within Yemen’s borders. The operation would have involved months of intelligence gathering and operational planning. It was a far more complex attack than that conducted against Aramco’s oil facilities. Initial reports indicate that the forces of the Saudi-led coalition were lured into vulnerable positions and then, through a pincer movement conducted quickly within Saudi territory, the Houthis surrounded the town of Najran and its outskirts and got the better of three Saudi brigades numbering in the thousands and including dozens of senior officers as well as numerous combat vehicles. This event is a game changer, leaving the US, Mike Pompeo and the Israelis and Saudis unable to lay the blame on Iran as all this took place a long way from Iran.
The large-scale operation was preceded by Yemeni rocket artillery targeting Jizan airport, with 10 missiles paralyzing any movements to and from the airport, including denying the possibility of air support for the encircled troops. The Houthis also hit the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh in a key operation that targeted Apache helicopters, forcing them to leave the area. Nearby military bases were also targeted so as to cut off any reinforcements and disrupt the chain of command. This led to the Saudi forces fleeing in disorganization.
