A spoken lyric for two countries that remember — and two governments that forgot.

On September 11, 2001, U.S. airspace closed. Thirty-eight airliners came down in Gander, Newfoundland, a town of fewer than 10,000. For five days schools, churches, the Legion, and a hockey rink became shelter. They called them the plane people. Operation Yellow Ribbon. Come From Away told the world. Beulah Cooper made the sandwiches. Hannah O’Rourke waited for a phone call from New York that would not be good news.
