The Israeli regime’s Channel 14 reported that the damage caused by Yemeni attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities is significantly greater than officially acknowledged, while The Wall Street Journal warned that the wider regional conflict is increasing the financial burden on Riyadh, threatening investment and pushing Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman toward diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis.According to Channel 14, citing informed sources, Saudi authorities have concealed the extent of the damage and fires at Aramco facilities following attacks by Yemen. The newspaper reported that some large-scale projects had been suspended and that Saudi Arabia had withdrawn from hosting the 2029 Asian Winter Games, highlighting the difficulties facing Riyadh as it attempts to balance security requirements with ambitious development commitments.
The consequences could extend beyond Saudi Arabia, given the kingdom’s role as a major source of financing for the global technology sector. Continued economic pressure could therefore have implications for investment beyond the Middle East.
