We are about 37 days out from the US mid-term election and Trump has made it abundantly clear he plans to escalate the war with Iran as soon as the elections are over and before the new house and senate seats are taken over in January. In the prior week ago Trump has 1) Unequivocally rejected the Iranian 9 point peace plan that Iran formally presented to the Americans last week during the UN forum. The peace plan itself was simply a return to the previous memorandum of Understanding that the US previously signed on June 17/26 – so this was effectively a graceful chance for the US to retreat from the current crisis, but Trump killed it by declaring ” that deal would not be acceptable”, so Trump has effectively blocked the US from returning to a peaceful resolution to the conflict. 2) during Trump’s speech at the UN, he once again threatened to “annihilate the Islamic Republic.”, this is the 6th or 7th time Trump has publicly threatened to annihilate/destroy/kill/devastate/unleash hell on the Republic of Iran in the prior 30 days and it has gotten to the point that that one could legitimately argue these repeated threats constitute a call to commit genocide against the people of Iran. A permanent end to the conflict can ONLY happen if China and Russia intervene with security guarantees for Iran and it is far too early in the crisis to expect that.A world-wide energy/fuel/oil crisis is now baked in the cake as it were. Ireland and France are both reporting fuel shortages of diesel and our entire Western economy depends on diesel to operate. Trucks, tractors, trains, airplanes, farm equipment, all run on diesel or diesel derivatives to operate. Energy insiders now expect world-wide fuel supplies to be disrupted until the end of 2027. For this reason, food and transportation costs are expected to rise throughout all of 2027 and most (perhaps all) of 2028 as well. Trump’s recent suggestion that he will impose a diesel export ban for the US (US diesel is roughly 10% of all diesel used by the EU) has further thrown the world energy markets into chaos making It increasingly likely that parts of the EU will need to introduce gas rationing in early 2027. The US dollar system and US control of financial systems and their regulation (copyright, insurance, banking, etc…) allowed the US to conceal the declining purchasing power of the US economy on international market, but also led to wealth consolidation into an ever smaller group of multibillionaires and now we have Elon Musk, the world’s first Trillionaire (as measure in US dollars). Actual real material wealth production in the US can not keep pace with the rapid growth of easy credit, financialization, stock value manipulation, rent-seeking and wide-scale, cheap energy availability. Since the existing physical wealth of the US is already consolidated into a small group of multibillionaires, the US now attempting a “re-capitalization” of the US domestic economy by destroying the international market system it helped build over the prior 40 years (i.e. US workers will be distracted from calling for internal US economic reform with manufacturing jobs, while the new US Trillionaire class becomes normalized within the US). The US is attempting to force foreign wealth producers to relocate to the US by destroying alternative energy sources outside of US control, destroying international trade routes by imposing unilateral blockades, imposing sectoral and trade sanctions on whole countries blocking them from the international economic system and destabilizing all forms of material wealth production that are not based in the US. The US domestic manufacturing base is already destroyed, China alone makes more steel, makes more chemicals, makes more medicine, makes more rare earths, makes more drones, makes more missiles, makes more ships, makes more trains, makes more of everything. Even little Iran is prepared to fight, with a population of only 90 million has issued mobilization orders for a one-million strong army which will be ready in mid-2027, this is more than enough troops to maintain order in Iran and even invade both Kuwait and Iraqi Kurdistan if necessary. The US media doesn’t report it, but for the past 200 days in Tehran there have been nightly protests in the thousands demanding Iran declare war on the US and close the Straits of Hormuz completely. Trump has recently bragged that shipping is back to normal, but it remains at roughly 10% of prewar levels and every ship that passes the straights, even if they use the US path, continues to pay the Iranians for the privilege and more than a dozen ships that attempted to sneak pass the straights without paying have been damaged or sunk in the past month alone.

Yesterday:
Yesterday, as the sun had already set, I slowly motored over in my 8 hp runabout, from the mainland, back to to the island, before total darkness set in, and I could no longer see to steer.
I noticed, that the bright shining full moon over the island, was rather suddenly in a big hurry to fall below the horizon!
Maybe the moon was in a hurry because it didn’t want to see something?
