“New Zealand is losing species and ecosystems faster than nearly any other country,” he said. “Four thousand of our native species are in trouble … from rampant dairy conversions to destructive seabed trawling – [we] are irreversibly harming our natural world.”

A refrain dominoeing(?) across the globe; the only survivors may be, the few, as yet, uncontacted tribes. But even they are threatened and may lose the race to the end…
We modern humans surely won’t make it; too fragile/delicate…
I love the smell of extinction first thing in the morning………… 😉

I’ve been thinking a lot about Assange and the whole shit-storm that is Orwelling up from below – musing on a fair bit of Dr D’s inspired call to action and the rest. As much as I feel passionate about the subject, it is as if I just can’t handle it. I think the Top Down approach of system change that Julian is looking for won’t save us from these slave masters and most of us are house Negros in the OECD – we just have all this skin in the game and are not ready or willing to unplug and take back our freedoms. We just like all the fatty food and gadgets and shit.
Mollison was a bit the same – wanting to bring down the system in his own way but I believe that Holmgren and David Fleming and Rob Hopkins and Robinson Carusoe have my heart. Band together people, stick with each other and rejoice in the informal economy – do favours, accept help, listen and grow food and keep your head down. Just ride this shit out because there is some collapsing to do and fighting all those bad people is dangerous work and not sustainable.
My two cents ( with a little fear and outrage thrown in )

Yeah, Oxymoron, it’s going to happen anyway: Collapse now and beat the rush.

Get off the plantation and stop feeding the beast.

“leaving pages completely blank – is the way bureaucrats and courts prevent the public from learning about classified information and secret testimony or evidence, or just embarrassing information.”

While, yes, this IS done, it is also entirely illegal and always has been. So…anybody going to jail sometime? Nope. Jail — or policicide — is for people like me who jaywalk. Commit war crimes, mass murders, billion-dollar thefts or open treason? You’re good to go.

“Elements of the official narrative also bizarrely and frequently vanish without warning or explanation”

Yet somehow bringing attention to this sad fact is an unhinged ‘conspiracy theory.’ …Not that governments have ever lied to the people or anything. With so many of these I can’t tell what happened, only that it cannot possibly be the official story. And so often that’s all you need to know. The Skripal case is Exhibit A for this premise.

And again, Trump now slavishly believes everything the CIA tells him? Please. I think we’ve established that the CIA, in coordination with others like the FBI were trying to remove him, and he knows that very, very well and may even be prosecuting them now. He ignores them, is widely reported as not attending their meetings, yet loves and believes them uncritically?

I’ve got a better theory: when he saw Haskell pile this load of total trollop on him, he knew exactly what they were up to and didn’t feel like taking them up on this particular battlefield. Let them hang themselves, which is exactly – oops, accidentally, the 100th time in a row – what is happening in this article. If it weren’t for their hatred of Trump, would they be re-visiting the steaming pile of incoherent contradictory nonsense that is the Skripal case? Not likely. But when they go after Trump, he puts on a super-duper surprise face and say, “But, but! The CIA TOLD me so!!! CNN says I should always believe them, so I did!!!” Result: investigate and discredit CIA, which is his goal anyway.

“Assange UK Legal Battle to Take 2 Years, Chances of Winning Are Good (Helmer)”

It sure is hard to tell what’s going on. Mostly because there is no law, so 75% of the time they make up anything they want. How about this deal: Trump doesn’t prosecute and reveal that MI6 was behind the election rigging and Presidential coup if they hand over Assange. It took a while to broker it, and could only be acted on after the Mueller report was released. That leaves the next question: since Assange is the man most able to exonerate Trump and prosecute the DNC and CIA, who’s in control of his person should he arrive here? Why hasn’t he already been killed on arrival in Belmarsh the way Whitey Bulgur was in the first hour? Is it because Britain is so upstanding and their people are so nice?

“EU Threatens $12 Billion In Tariffs Over US Boeing Subsidies (AFP)”

Just shows there are no free trade and no free markets either. They are all rigged in a merger of corporation and state. Everyone cheers and approves.

“The Public Banking Revolution Is Upon Us (Ellen Brown)”

They were much-interested in imitating the State Bank of North Dakota, but there are many aspects to why that bank works so well. Will it happen? Well when the Fed is destroyed by their misadventures in a $20T debt, the states will need something. PS, this is also how the Fed ran all competitor banks out of business under FDR in 1932. Only the Fed was insured, only they got bailouts. Socialism for me and not for thee. Vertically-integrated = complete control in NY and DC, locking out the rest of the country. Eventually they starved to death like the deplorables they are, and nearly 100% of all power is in 12 cities.

Who knew that there was a big fire at the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, also on Monday? What a coincidence!
It’s easy to see how that got completely missed by all the media and charitable corporations, with all of the important news about the Notre Dame fire, … isn’t it? Thanks Eleni.
Palestine news agency, Wafa, cited a guard as saying that,
“The fire broke out in the guard’s room outside the roof of the Marwani Prayer Room, and the fire brigade of Jerusalem Islamic Waqf handled the matter successfully.”
Al-Marwani prayer room is located underneath the south-eastern corner of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound (Haram Al Sharif).

Criticizing Israel Will Land You In Prison:
Soon, this blog will be illegal.
No, I’m not selling drugs or peddling child pornography.
I write about America’s wars and the primary objective of those illegal and immoral wars—to make Israel the hegemon of the Middle East along with Saudi Arabia. All US foreign policy in that region centers on those two nations.
The following may soon be classified as hate speech and anti-semitism (as increasingly criticism of the Jewish state and its Zionist political ideology are considered crimes).
Jewish neocons found their way into the Reagan administration and later the Bush Junior White House and Pentagon. Huddled under the wing of Vice President Dick Cheney, they plotted to attack and destroy Israel’s enemies. Neocon ideologues strategized and published papers on these manufactured wars, most notably a paper presented to then Israeli president Bibi Netanyahu. It called for taking out Iraq and Syria. Israeli academics have written on this subject for decades. The nation’s early leaders engineered border provocations and false flag attacks (the Lavon Affair) to destabilize the region. Southern Lebanon is considered a valuable asset primarily for its water resources (e.g. “Operation Litani”) and the Golan Heights in Syria was occupied for its strategic value.

Why The Gulf States Are So Edgy, Alastair Crooke (I hope the link is working again when you click on it. Thanks Eleni)
The Gulf grandees have a right to be edgy, Alastair Crooke writes. They can see that Trump’s ‘war hawks’ are intent on cornering, pressurising and provoking Iran.. Algeria. Libya. Saudi Arabia.

    NOT Mike-the-Slob, please!
One day after North Korea’s Leader Kim reportedly oversaw the test of a “new tactical guided weapon”, North Korea on Thursday demanded that Secretary of State and former CIA chief, Mike Pompeo, should be replaced for any future negotiations with the U.S., the country’s media reported.
“Whenever Pompeo pokes his nose in, talks between the two countries go wrong without any results even from the point close to success,” Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted Kwon Jong-gun as saying. Kwon is director general of the North Korean Foreign Ministry’s department for American affairs. He was addressing the first session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the country.
Two summits between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un since June 2018 have failed to reach an agreement over the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. In response, Kwon suggested a “more careful and mature” negotiator to take Pompeo’s place.
“I am afraid that, if Pompeo engages in the talks again, the table will be lousy once again and the talks will become entangled,” he said.
“Therefore, even in the case of a possible resumption of the dialogue with the U.S., I wish our dialogue counterpart would be not Pompeo but [anyone] who is more careful and mature in communicating with us,” he said.
Kwon said the North Korean leader and the U.S. president had good personal relations.

    • Mueller Report Out Today, Much Could Be Redacted (AFP)

So far, this afternoon, nobody has changed their mind.
Everyone is still playing their same tunes. (Guilty vs not guilty.)
Meanwhile, back in reality, the rains are bad in some places.
